Hey friends 🤍 It’s finally the time for a sketchbook tour! I hope you enjoy watching this longer chill video of me going through my finished strathmore sketchbook! For those that just want to see the art, I’m going to be posting a shorter sketchbook tour with no talking later! Just a little reminder here; sketchbooks are a very personal project and the feelings we, artists carry with us about our finished work and sketchbooks often hold very personal memories and thoughts about the painting process too. I know I’m a skilled painter and all of these artworks are good, but if some of the things I say sound a bit negative, just know that I’m not trying to put myself down at all. It’s just me reflecting on the process as a whole, and it’s totally normal and valid that sometimes those feelings aren’t overly positive. Just wanted to put that out there to avoid possible comments about it! Love you all, have a lovely day ✨
Beautiful... Every one of these pages makes me feel as if I could just step into the painting and continue walking in them. I can almost feel the wind on my face, the sounds of birds, and the smell of flowers and grass. 🌲❤
I fil my sketchbooks in the same way but recently added a few other sketchbooks to work in as I get burned out doing this, it's a lot of work! This is so beautiful, thanks for sharing!
You are such an inspiration for me! What amazing work. You’re beyond talented! My favorite? That’s tough! Loved all the “window” type pictures, the white fence about 8:00, and the 3 geese. My absolute favorite was your grandfather’s boat. I also loved the painting you did of your friend’s photo with the red barns.
As soon as you said you painted your actual scenary on that third page I thought to myself, “I should do that” since I live forest, basically, it’s really beautiful, but then I thought, “But man, the bugs-“ and then you mention mosquitos. 😂 Very relatable.
This may already exist on your channel, but I would love to see an ASMR style (no talking, background music) video flip through of this same sketchbook. I have 2 little kids so I don’t have time to watch this whole video and hear all you have to share but I’d love to see a much shorter video where I can just take in the beauty of your art. You’re so talented! Love it!
Thank you 🥰 I will actually be posting a shorter sketchbook tour without talking and with some minimal background music in a bit! I will hopefully leave in the sounds of me flipping the pages but I’ll just have to see how the audio is 👀
😍👍 I love flip-throughs, they're so inspiring! And yours are stunning! 👌😁 I own three prints from this sketchbook that I totally love (Candle in a Window🕯️, Moody Forest 🌲and Rainy Pond 🪷) and also a Peaceful Meadow mini postcard, which I loved so much that I plan to get it as a print in the future, as long as some more forests that make my heart sing! 😊👍 Thank you so much for painting all these, and for sharing your sketchbook, that treasures so many stories and memories, Tiina! 🙏👏👏👏🤗🥰😘
Thank you for the beautiful video - very inspiring. The music was fantastic and very calming - This is the first time I ever watched such a long sketchbook video to the end. Your friendly voice and the music helped calm me a lot. (I have ADHD). Blessings.
You are phenomenal! Do you seal each of the paintings? If not do you ever have lift from one page onto the other while the sketchbook is stored? I started using Dorland's wax out of fear of transfer but I don't like how it changes the painting and I'm convinced there's some transfer especially on light areas during application.
You have such a beautiful style, your paintings are so enigmatic and have a lovely warmth to them. I would be honoured to have any of them hang on the walls of my home.
Hmm, I am just an amateus, but believe me you did a great job. I have been following you since winter and I cannot explain enough how much you inspire me everyday. I think you are very harsh on yourself: topic of this sketchbook is beauty in nature and you really nailed it. And it’s perfectly ok to draw same season over and over again. It really works well in this sketchbook and gives an overall look of coziness and warm) ❤❤❤sending love ❤❤❤
These are all beautiful, very inspiring. Here in the United States we call them fall paintings. Autumn is a beautiful time of year. In our decorating we usually say we love fall colors. Hearing you say Autumnal was strange but lived it.
Tina, you are amazing. For many days I have been watching you videos. And I love them. And thanks God there’s still much to watch. In one of those videos you recommend another Lady. You took some of her ideas. But after so many videos I cannot find it again. You said, you mentioned her in you under the video. Do you remember her name? Or the video you mentioned her. I think it was something with „holland pages“. Sorry, my English is not the best🙈. By the way. After each video I would make a flower after the comment, because I always watch them to the end….
Great tour! @37:40 the "red" cabin that you don't like, why not do a light, quick wash over it to tone that color down? Maybe a green of some sort to neutralize the brick red, perhaps a grey-purple to blend it in a bit with the colors of the foreground...just the slightest of watercolor wash or very watered down gouache may make all the difference 🤷🏻♀
Thank you! 🤍 When I work with my sketchbooks, I never go back to ”fix” anything. It’s kind of the main idea for me that my sketchbook paintings don’t have to be perfect and once I’m done with the page, I’m done and I can just flip to the next spread! I’m happy to dislike my paintings once in a while too, it’s good practise for acceptance and self-discipline that even though it would be easy to fix something, I won’t force myself to do it just to improve old artwork. I know there’s a lot of people who like to maybe add something to their old work and go back to them, but it’s not for me personally, I like the idea of all of my art being some sort of time capsules to the time I made them and it’s okay if they aren’t always ones I love 🥰 But thank you for the recommendation anyway, very kind of you!!
Your work is so beautiful ♥My favorite spread is at 12:01. Both pages have captured such a mood with the lighting and muted colors. Wow... 😍Your sketchbook paper is 100% cotton and I was wondering if this is necessary for gouache painting or if I can use a cheaper mixed media/watercolor paper. Should I gesso the pages first for either type sketchbook? Thanks!
Thank you so much 🤍 I actually prefer my new sketchbook which is a 160gsm mixed media sketchbook with smooth pages. I’d say usually 160gsm is the minimum for gouache paintings so it doesn’t bleed through, but cotton pages or more expensive sketchbooks are definitely not needed. I don’t gesso the pages!
All of your paintings are beautiful. I have purchased two so far. I am wondering if it is possible for you to have a couple A4 prints in the vertical or portrait orientation? I would really love something larger in the vertical layout. Anyway if not no big deal. Thank you for all your hard work. So sorry to hear about your grandfather. ❤️
Thanks for sharing your beautiful paintings..you can take some pleasure others enjoy them even if they didn't turn out as you had in mind.. always a learning experience..and you may look at them in future with fresh eyes. Artists can be our own worst critics. ❤😊from Canadian artist.
I'm not familiar with g o ua c h e😊 your paintings are just gorgeous I recently found a set of gouache paints that my father gave me 30 years ago I was just trying them out and they're like new . I'm looking around for a tutorial from you on g o u a c h e

Girl, this ain't no sketch book. This is a full blown ART BOOK. Amazing!! ❤
