Thanks for including your problem paintings, it helps to know that someone who produces such beautiful paintings also has some they are not so happy with. 🙂
Aww, i'm happy to include them, and i'm glad that it's helpful to see. I think it's common for a lot of artists to make work they consider "failures". I actually really like it when they share the struggles along with the triumphs. I feel like it helps normalize failures as "part of the process" & helps push through discouragement.
Wow thank you for the kind words! I personally like looking at magical dreamy artwork, so I think it translates in some of my own stuff. I'm happy you like it! ☺
I absolutely love your art! Liked and subbed! I grew up in CT, the Cromwell/Middletown area. I miss it so, so much. Also, pro-tip - when removing your tape, use a heating tool or hair dryer. It won't mess with the gouache and the heat makes the sticky stuff on the tape much less sticky. Since doing this I haven't torn a single page. Good luck!!!
You're so sweet, thank you!!! That's cool that you grew up in CT too, small world! I miss CT sometimes as well, we just moved to Florida last winter, and still getting used to the weather. And yes you're totally right - usually heat works for me when I take off the tape but I was impatient and made silly mistakes 😅 Thankfully it's just a sketchbook!
Hi. Just found your channel. I personally loved this as I live in CT and know Sleeping Giant, and I’ve been to Artist’s Bluff in NH. It’s so cool to see your interpretation of these places. I like your style and I like that you show pieces that didn’t work out too. A sketchbook is a place to work things out. :)
Oh that's pretty cool! Sleeping giant is a great place for inspiration! If you ever have the chance to visit Kent Falls, that's another pretty cool location to explore. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the video, and the paintings (both good and bad haha) - thank you so much!!!
I enjoyed this sketchbook tour so much!!!🎉😊 subscribed!!

I love the grass on the mushrooms painting. And the painting that’s your favourite has such lovely light 😊I need to get my gouache out.
I'm so happy you liked it, thanks 😊 The light in the painting of my husband hiking was tricky, but I loved the challenge!
I really like your use of color and contrast. Very romantic/magical feeling. Just lovely.
