Top advice as usual (and for free). I can easily apply what you say to handmade, which is what I do. I got lazy so it's nice to listen to younger entusiastic people to give me a kick in the bottom . All the best Hannah :-)
Unfortunately, many sellers are driving down the price. When I spend hours designing templates, I want to make money from it in the end. But if competitors are selling 600 Instagram templates for $5, how am I supposed to compete in the market? It makes sense to build my own website and drive traffic from social media, right?
The algorithm does not always favor just the cheapest one have you ever tested just coming in at a higher price and putting add money behind it so there’s room to play with ads
Really helpful Hannah!! I have an Etsy shop and have low ticket templates for B2B…I’m taking on board your points about higher ticketing items, ChatGBP and ads, which I just decreased before watching this video 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve just made over 100 sales and am at a bit of lol, so hoping that these tips will give my shop the refresh that it needs!! Thanks again
I turned off Etsy ads and saw my conversion rate increase from a steady 6% for the previous 6 months, to 9% as soon as I switched them off. My sales remain consistent but profit higher because expenses are lower. I think the algorithm rewards higher conversion rate!
What data sample of time did you allow this to run for? Did you track profit as well as this is the only thing that matters and you cannot collect enough data if you only run ads for a week or two you need to see month over month performance
@@EcomHannah it was about 9 months of Etsy ads on ($50 per day) vs 2 months now with it off. Profit is up significantly, I’ve seen a cumulative effect of improved conversion rate, sort of like it’s snowballing. just had my highest week ever up 30% previous weekly average (which was stagnant for about 4 months before turning ads off)
Great video yes! Question - when you speak of reaching max profitable potential - what’s the time span to keep in mind for watching? I’m just starting and it’s POD tshirts but I want to add hoodies and actually jogging pants too…I hear you regarding getting ad test budgets up - for sales for growth of listings in various ways. But I do not understand how long I should be using as a test sample…
It's less about the specific time frame and more about the amount you're willing to spend before making a decision on a listing. While time does play a role, the budget you allocate for testing is a much stronger indicator. For example, you might feel comfortable investing $20-30 before deciding if a listing is profitable, whereas I might invest $40-50 because my average order value (AOV) is around $100. A good rule of thumb is to spend at least the equivalent of your product's sale price before making a judgment, but ultimately, it depends on how fast your budget spends and your personal comfort level with risk. The key is to find that balance between testing enough to get meaningful data and not overspending.
@@EcomHannah No problem. You were mentioning that you can create bundles or a listing that is an all access pass to the whole shop. I was asking if you can make a video tutorial of how to list store access, like do you give them a link or use a certain software they can long on to to access their digital products. Hopefully that makes more sense 🙂.
Hi Hannah, I have a quick question..If I am opening a brand new POD apparel store on Etsy this month, should i focus on only 1 niche and 1 product type (t-shirts) OR Should I focus on multiple niche (10+) and multiple product types within the same category (like sweatshirts, hoodies, tank tops, t-shirts, hats)?
Starting with one product and mastering it first will allow you to refine your process and brand. Once you've nailed that down, you can expand into multiple products and niches more confidently.
Not me LITERALLY just coming from a video by 'Etsy Consultant' that says Etsy Ads don't do anything for organic traffic at all 😭. Y'all need to all get-together and align your advice haha (Just kidding, but also, what's the truth for real? All of this feels so hard *sigh)
Yes different coaches have different theories for sure, but this is something you can prove to yourself in your stats, when you first launch a listing with ads you will see your ads bucket is majority of your traffic but as you gain organic rank faster you will see that piece of the pie shrink and organic take over the pie chart, this is also true for amazon

Thanks for the kind words and the comment! Stay tuned for more :]

Were you optimizing them individually or just turning them on for everything?
@@EcomHannah Individually! I only advertised a handful of listings at any given time
hello madam! Thank you for your informational vids. Just want to ask if there are any alternatives for shopify? or any free or lower cost alternative?
Maybe.. Shopify works the best though

Liked video Hannah
Thank you!
Can you make a video on how to do an all access pass like the logistics and basically a tutorial?
Can you explain a little bit more of what you mean?

@@EcomHannah thanks Hannah! Do you recommend starting with t-shirts?
T-shirts are a great option, but go with whatever product you feel most confident about. Master one first, then expand!
I got the same idea few days ago😅 but literally the same answer

Etsy was a huge money pit for me,
A big waste of time and money
Really? Were you also doing digital downloads?
Man I am sorry that was your experience! Business can be hard if where easy Every one would do it
Same.
