    When it showed how Florrie must be hearing stuff in her mind, with Albert and Irma’s voices echoing unnaturally...

    Spider's white shirt looks a bit grayish brown. Luckily his jacket covers it all but his collar. Looks like his shirt had a collar. Did dress shirts always have collars? Or did they only have detached collars until a certain time in history?

    • @alfredsedgewick2184
      @alfredsedgewick2184 10 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry for a belated reply, I'll try to answer your question:
      By the time Coronation Street started, detached collar shirts were rapidly disappearing from everyday life. There were a few stalwarts (usually elderly people) who held onto them into the 1960s and beyond for daily use but they weren't as common as they were in the preceding decades.
      There were still certain professions that mandated their use, such as the banking, stocktrading and legal professions and certain boarding schools but by and large, they weren't part of everyday life for most people anymore. Some did wear them for formal occasions though.
      Some of the younger people around at the time may never have even worn one (though when Ken Barlow married Valerie in the early 60s, he was seen to be struggling with a starched collar on his wedding day, Albert Tatlock needing to assist him).
      Hope this explanation was useful

      Her real Mom died when she was preteen. She had to live at an orphanage because her Dad worked and couldn't take care of her. She ran away one Christmas and came to her Dad. Then he decides to keep her around. (I think).
      Her Dad ended up marrying the waitress from the Rovers who was like family to Annie and Jack.
      The new couple her Dad and his new wife, started a family of their own and end up moving to Scotland, Lucille is a teen and doesn't want to leave her friends etc...So Annie and Jack end up taking her in to stay with them until she finishes school.

    • @SUPER_WOLFMOON
      @SUPER_WOLFMOON 5 лет назад +1

      What does that mean regarding asking for fire lighters. Were grocery places not allowed to sell fire lighters? Arkwright's always had fire lighters in fact didn't Granville try to produce his own to sell, but it ended up that his fire lighters lit him?
