- We recently headlined the 'Big' festival in Andalucia, Spain. What a buzz!
I filmed some of the build up so you can see what it's like on the day.

This was absolutely amazing. Never seen backstage to that extend. As others said: The amount and complexity of the setup is huge.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Jamiroquai is such an amazing band. Everyone is at the top of their game
Woah - you haven't played for several years, only rehearsed for four days, and then you have the nerves of steel to film with your phone right until you get on stage? Man, you're incredible! :)
The balls mate!
He’s just a professional mate
these are pros. i've played with people at this caliber before and it is truly humbling. just how when you watch professional athletes. they make it look easy and it is beyond frustrating haha. be something to admire and strive for.
I can't imagine being so familiar with a big performance situation like this that you have the headspace to vlog the experience too. Thanks for the insight. So many flight cases it's overwhelming!
IKR there is no way I could hold the camera steady lol....I'd be sweatin bullets.
Man that was an awesome feeling ! to be on the stage while Jamiroquai is doing soundcheck,
Thank you for letting us viewers step in.
Nice to see live brass back in the set!
I was there! Definitely one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Congratulations!
Legendary Matt!! Thank you for the sneak peak into your world.
My band was playing the third night of fest but we all showed up the night before to catch Jamiroquai's set. I saw you taking video and it caught me by surprise. I yelled at them "Hey that's Jamirquai's keyboard player, I watch his videos all the time!" You can see me for split second at 6:24 lol! Set was killer we all had a great time!
Nice one Jose!
Jose, my wife and I had your heartbeats track as one of our wedding songs. Sublime piece of music, thank you
This is awesome. I've played some big festivals myself and when you're the headliner, you get treated as royalty. When you're the show opener, not so much but you still get treated well. At least that's how I found it. I'm glad you made this video so people can get an idea of what goes on and that it's not so much like party central like it was in the 80s.
It‘ s absolutely amazing what kind of work that is to build up the stage, the amps, the instruments, the mixer, the cables etc.. ❤
Thanks for sharing! The amount of setup is insane and the detail is incredible. I can't imagine getting every performer their desired mix for their in-ears let alone getting the right mix out to the front.
Yep - thát is big enough 🤣👍
Biggest gig I've done so far was headlining a festival with about 8000 faces in front of us.
Matt can attest to this: if you've never seen (ánd heard!) that amount of people cheering you on, then it can be quite nerve-wracking, I promise you 🤣🤣🤣🤘 And it's always very exciting and challenging to deliver to the best of your ability - personally I'm definitely happiest in those moments, as well as in any recording studio.
Thanks heaps for showing us around, Matt!!
Long may it continue 😎🙏
best concert ive ever been to... you guys were incredible...
Wow Matt, great insight into behind the scenes! Thanks so much!
Please bring out a new album!❤
Y'all's music has gotten me through some really tough times in my life. Thank you. Alll the best:)
Thanks for this Matt, great to see behind the scenes!!! Jam will always be my fav band👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
what memories! in 1997 I worked in jamiroquai backstage in Rome, I remember that an Italian friend of mine was engaged to someone from the band, I saw the show on stage next to the band and after work I went to the party !!
Gotta give a big shout out to the tech people, a lot of work putting it all together.
Thanks for this Matt, awesome peek behind the curtains! Nice fam bunch-of crew you got there.
Best live show I've even seen was Jamiroquai live in 1997. I know that was before your time but thank you so much for showing us the other side of what a big gig looks like!
ooooh i loved this!
thanks so much to take us with you, and see a bit of how it all works behind the scenes
now im gonna listen to deeper undergorund, its been to long
I never thought about each band having their own backline at these sorts of things, but it totally makes sense. Mental though!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this!
looks like hard work - respect - nothing fancy backstage, I bet that crowd loved it. Thanks matt.
Awesome thanks for the tour!
Ah Matt, that was totally amazing !!! 😎💫 Simply Love the behind the scenes stuff, the crew do an incredible job 🙏🏻Awesome, Love it , the gig was EPIC !!! The band was so tight, Jays voice was spot on, ah man I hope the next Jamiroquai project gains momentum, can’t wait for the next album…

Your rig is sick! A musician's dream
Thanks for sharing that. Love it. Great to see from the other side of the fence for a change.
fan-fricken-tastic. Awesome tour and narration Matt. People just do not understand how unglamorous touring can be. Love, love, love what you guys do and the feet on the ground approach.
Fascinating insight Matt. Thank you for doing this! 👍🏻
And thank you Matt. As a fan and fellow plink plonker fascinating insight. So much kit , so many people., so much work .Really enjoyed that . Been a Jammy Rock Why fan for 30 years , yeah that long .Top tackle .
My pleasure!
Yeah! The horns are back …a big plus! And Jays voice is on top! Love it. Thx Matt! 👽🤟
Thanks Matt. Being an amateur keyboard player is so exciting seeing a real stage of pro guys. You all rock. I hope to see you soon in Italy.
Funny, I always complain about sound on stage (and I sometimes play in very little pubs...), but I see that in big venues problem is still there.
Usually I fight with guitar players who can put their amps at insane volumes...!
yeah I know the feeling, small gigs are tough
Amazing footage for fans!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!
Great upload, many thanks for that Matt, fascinating to see the nuts and bolts behind it all!
I’m smiling thru this video as I had brief encounters with big crowds in the 60’s!
Very well done video!

Great video Matt. So interesting to see the side of gigs that we don’t ever get to see. Thanks!
Thanks for the tour! Very cool!
Thanks for doing this. It’s great that bands swap over quickly these days. I can remember going to gigs in the 70s and waiting hours between bands.
Very, very cool to see, so thank you!
Thanks for the video! Seeing things from the perspective of a world class musician is interesting
Me encanta, que maravilla y muchas gracias Matt por compartir lo que sucede detrás de escena, realmente motiva mucho.

Good to see the P6 get used in a stage setup.
Great to see you in action.
This was a very enjoyable mini-documentary!
I love how the stage sound during soundcheck sounds just like a record.
That’s Great Matt… very insightful , cheers.
Glad you guys brought back the horns… Matt, you guys are the best band out there…bar none! Love it and keep it coming. Greetings from Miami 😎🤘🏼
Very interesting!! It rarely happens to be able to see the instrumentation that is used in important concerts up close. Congratulations for the nice idea of the video and of course for your performance. Greetings from Italy.

LOVED THIS thanks Matt!
so fun to see this chill guy with funk super powers to kick about backstage then headline a festival. Awesome content bro.
That's the life init? Thanks for sharing! It's great to be able to see the behind the scenes and set ups
This is so cool!! Kiko Loureiro does the same to Megadeth's Channel on youtube and I think it is a brilliant way to get closer from our preferred artists. Thanks Matt!!!
Great video. I've played many festivals like this but not with such a big act. We small fish are lucky if we can hear ANYTHING out of our monitors because we have to rely on the house sound people, who usually have great intentions but by the time we go on, are tired and spaced out. Last festival I did a few weeks ago, we got there at 10am to do soundcheck and by the time we went on at 8pm, the monitor guy must've forgotten where he saved the setup because the monitors were completely and totally wrong. All I had in my monitor was GUITARS louder than the voice of god, no organ, no keys, no vocals... and by the time you start that first song it's too late to do anything. I tried to get the monitor guy's attention three times to turn down the guitars and it never changed. So I just cranked the Leslie, played piano by feel (and what I could hear from the mains), sang via hearing myself due to ear plugs, and did the show. What else can you do? You just have to trust that it sounds good out front.
All that is to say you're fortunate (and of course deserving due to your hard work and talent) to work with such pros. And despite all that we little guys go through, we're all happy to be back out there doing it again like you are after two years of everything being grounded. Thanks for the insight, your music, and hope to see you on the road sometime, Matt and be safe!
Great Matt! Thanks!
Un like for you, señor. Cuando el ensayo suena tan impecable que parece playback.
That change over 😬 yeah suprising how you all do it😉 Great peek, thankyou 🙌
Wonderful Mat, come back to Mexico please and bring to us that amazing Acid Jazz
Stunning!!
Very awsome to see!!
