Every time Leon uploads a video, my brain develops another wrinkle and I become a fractionally more competent guitar player. Thank you for all you do, bro!
@@LeonTodd Of course! That's great. My FordScales II system depends on spotting the note A in at least one location on the neck, and ultimately all over. I use the "warp refraction principle," which I can't properly footnote right now, but which comes from an old guitar magazine author, in both FordScales I and FordScales II, to describe the shift between the D and the G string breaking the symmetry of the guitar. If ever I publish or put together some RUclips clips, I'll credit you on "Spotting." :)
*Warp Refraction, attributed to Jon Finn, although I picked it up in a magazine article, not his book. Guitar for the Practicing Musician, October 1996, January 1996, or earlier.
Hello from Florida, US. I've been following the channel for some months now, ever since I was interested and ultimately got an axe fx 3. The content is amazing, helpful and inspiring. Glad to see a lot more collaboration with FAS in the latest FW. Is the preset used in this video available on axe change or anywhere? Keep up the great work. Thanks.
Cool, but without the playing tecnical ability like you have it's impossible to play it in the speed like you show us in the beginning of the Video. How long does it take for you after practicing to play that in that speed ? Do you play alternate picking only or a mix of alternate picking and legato?
I've been trying to do this stuff for over 15 years, but I really honed in on practice strict alternate picking for the first 12-18 months I started playing. This whole video series is designed to throw out some fresh ideas for people who are otherwise stuck in a rut playing the same "standard" scale shapes and exercises.
lovely face melting outro jam
that final lick at the VERY end with the slide -- fuckin cash money.
Underrated channel nice guitar tone and Amazing soulful guitar playing!
Thanks Arnold!

Great video. Loving your 5-minute lick series. Always inspiring ideas.
Thanks mate! It keeps me on my toes coming up with fresh stuff.
Video title should be "Dodging the 6th" 😛🤣
Hahaha love it
Love your work mate
Much appreciated!
Brett Garsed approves the outro improv.
Brett is GOD.
I've never heard of hexatonic scales. The second sounds like it doesn't belong. Which is why I love it now 🤘👍
Genial muchas gracias
Awesome video
Points for starting in C#. Because guitar systems needn’t be limited by note name. Where did your term “spotting” come from? I may steal it.
From the gym funnily enough, I think of my index finger as my buddy looking out for me :p
