    I sometimes put only a little on my hands and work it through and I then put a touch on the teeth of my comb so it goes straight to the skin.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  5 лет назад +2

      The oil will actually do a better job of staying on your fingertips as compared to the teeth of the comb. As the comb goes through your hair to get to the skin, it has a smaller surface area, so less likely to stay attached

    For the beginners, if I gave some pieces of advice, those would be:
    1. make sure your beard is damp;
    2. damp your palms also;
    3. point 1 and 2 are essential, those are game changers; try it and you’ll see
    4. shake the oil bottle thoroughly, in order to help mix all the oils in there together very well;
    5. concentrate the oil as much as you can on your fingers;
    6. wash your hands after applying the oil.. you don’t want to oil anything, but your beard.
    7. After washing your hands, use a brush or a comb for two reasons: to get your beard back in shape and help distribute the oil evenly;

    So I like to put it as well on my skin and all through my beard, but you say it’s not for the beard well, my wife would beg to differ because when my beard is short and stubbly, if I use beard oil on it, it makes it much softerand does not poke her. If I do not use beard oil, it is very abrasive, so I think that it does soften the hair.

    Thank you! First day on beard oil (the first beard product ever used). So much of the itchiness is reduced! Having the beard *damp* and not just lightly sprayed was key. My face finally feels hydrated! I wonder if ill actually feel no itch at all after a while. The biggest feel good factor is that my mustache finally does not feel sharp at the ends like spikes on my lips. My poor beard was so bone dry its hard to gauge what over oiling would feel like. Would it actually make my fingers have a wet shine and oily slippery 30 minutes later?

    Hey Dan. I use Detroit grooming products more or less exclusively for oil and butter. Sometimes I swap in the store bought clubman oil when I may have had a bad weather day outside working. Is there a suggestion of an organic beard oil as thick and viscus as clubman? I like the feel in my beard; however, I like the results overall of using a natural product. Going into the winter working season outdoors I'd like a go to heavier beard oil. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Hello mister C,
    This time I tried to do some (lightning quick search engine) research before bothering you with a question, but here I am, good sir.
    I would like to know your opinion on applying beard oil to the beard by applying it to the comb (spreading it on the comb) instead of spreading it on and with one's hands.
    Personally I'm too new to the game to be able to tell how good this method spreads the oil throughout the hairs; perhaps you have experimented with it?
    A few drops on the fingers to get to the skin can't be avoided I guess, but I wonder if this method might have the advantage of spreading the product better and with that perhaps be less wasteful?
    I'm not sure but I have the feeling I'm just not subtle enough when oiling the beard with my hands, causing quite a bit of curly/wavy hairs (with "white bulbs") to shed a bit faster than needed in an already sparse beard.
    Yet again I thank you for your time.
    Kind regards and good luck
    Keep up the good work please!

    I need some help. My beard is more like the hair I once had on my head. It doesn’t look like long curly pubic hair which I actually think styles better but I have what God gave me. It’s getting down to almost my nipples if stretched. I really don’t want to cut it off but just not sure how to style it. It’s all gray to white with a little sway or curl but basically straight hair. When it was shorter I blow dried it straight down and it curled under at the bottom. Was a very clean look. Now it’s too long for that. It’s not thick like yours being more like hair from my scalp. I wash it and conditioner it then after just apply butter and shake my head and leave it looking like UN brushed hair 🤷🏼‍♂️. Any recommendations. Thanks
