  • Using my Toro 928 snowblower in 5 to 6 inches of snow. It was a light powered which was no match to my toro 928 ohxe. It threw the snow early 30 feet. It is alot of fun to use.

    I live in southern New Hampshire and I have had Toro's for over 20 years and in Nov 2017 I UPGRADED to the Power Max HD 1028 OHXE with the plastic chute and love it lots, handle warmers are great as well... It handles the big snow as well as the slushy stuff with no problems... My last TORO was the 824 and was still running great after 20 years which I gave to a friend of mine.. Toro mowers are awesome too.. Thanks for the video..

    I bought a Toro 1038 in 2003 to clear driveways for money. Best $2000 I ever spent. This machine handled 6-12" of powdery snow without breaking a sweat. And it worked well on packed snow & slush.
    It threw the snow so far that I had to be very careful to avoid piling snow on the neighbor's driveway. Fortunately the joystick-controlled chute allowed me to throw the snow stream exactly where I wanted from 5 to 50 feet away. It had 1 small lever on each handle to cut power to the left or right wheels, making left & right turns a breeze.
    I got tired of the front 2 skids/skis riding up on top of any packed snow (usually compacted by car tires). I solved that problem by replacing each skid with a ~7" diameter steel wheel, and replacing the 2 original scraper springs with heavier/beefier springs, to press the scraper bar downwards with~3-4 times the force than the original design.

    Thanks for sharing the video. Toro Power Max HD machines in my opinion are the best snow blower for any kind of condition. The anti-clog system works extremely well even is wet heavy snow. Toro also uses stronger but thinner metal which was introduced in the automotive industry some time back. Notice that Toro doesn't need a center support in the auger bucket. Why, because of the thinner but stronger metal being used by Toro. Ariens may boast they use thicker metal framing, but is it any stronger than the thinner but stronger framing that Toro uses? The lack of a support bracket in the auger bucket area is proof that Toro's engineering is ahead of the game. The Toro HD machines are quite large, but they don't feel that way when using them. My HD 1232 is balanced extremely well and easy to maneuver with the trigger steering. Another thing that the Toro HD's are good at, exceptional traction. The tires really dig in and keep you moving forward. Toro is a huge outdoor power equipment company and has always been innovative in trying new and proven technology. The quick stick and the no clog system is a perfect example of that. They are lighter and yet stronger and engineered to move snow just as good or even better than the competition. They are even less expensive than the competition. Maybe not by a lot, but non the less they cost less and Toro HD's are built to last many years if properly maintained. I have two 1980 Toro's, a 524 and 824 that are still going strong. Mind you, these machines have been garaged kept and maintained properly sense new. Leaving any machine out in the elements makes for a very bad investment. Well, winter is here and hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable winter, and a happy new year. And let's hope bozo Biden and his merry band of misfits don't make 2023 any worse than 2022 was. Well considering who is running the country, I think that may be asking for a bit too much.

      That's not actually how two stage snow blowers work. YOU adjust the bottom scraper and the side skid shoes for your particular surface texture. You can run the scraper right down on the ground, but most people choose not to. Smooth blacktop can be wet low; textured concrete, gravel, pavers, etc. will make you want to set it slightly higher to avoid surface wear and avoid skid plate wear but it's entirely up to you.

    • @Mr_Clean
      @Mr_Clean 3 года назад

      You adjust the skids accordingly. If you've got all concrete or blacktop driveway put it right down to the pavement, mines heavy gravel it's set to about a half inch
