Wow, it looks so clean under the hood. Usually, there is rust everywhere. I remember being in high school in the early 80s, and our little town mall had some of the different brands from local dealerships had snowmobiles on display. Anyway, the two that stood out to me was the Ski-Doo Blizzard, and the Arctic Cat El Tigre. The El Tigre just looked so other worldly looking compared to stuff like John Deere, Scorpion, Moto-Ski and Yamaha. Anyway, nice sled you have there.
Had an 83 or 84 back when I was 14 . Dad bought it used from a yamaha dealer . Only had 400 miles on it. Went for a ride the day he brought it home . Blew a piston . The yamaha dealer fixed it free. Brought it home ,blew another piston and the ring gouged the nickel plated cylinder wall . Yamaha dealer replaced the piston and cylinder wall. Got it home dec 24th rode it christmas day. Blew another piston . When we took it back to the dealer 🤪 they accidentally backed over it and paid us out. Had to have been a dud engine . Bad taste for Suzuki engine and cat sleds ever since 😬
Had a 6000 el Tigre and that critter was the fastest sled on the mountain. 100 mph was pretty common, at 8500 feet elevation. Loved it. Rode it through Yellowstone Park many times. Dad had one too, but mine was faster.
This sled purchased new with 81 updates.( was lost in a fire ) restored and rebuilt with new old stock parts mostly. In its day was king of the hill climb. Topped out at 93 mph with stock gears and comet 102.
Absolutely nothing beat that sled . NOTHING! Until Arctic retarded the timing and put double base gaskets on them or they didn’t continue the warranty. They advertised them as the worlds fastest and they walked away from everything. Beautiful too
You tease us with a walk around and you don’t let us hear it run! Super sweet sled.

Crazy !!! Nice Vintage sled and seems to run really great !!
Really nice looking 6000! Wish you would have started it though, wanted to hear it run pretty bad.
+tommartyn maybe coming soon if we get some snow-two years in a row its a no show here.
Aww man. Yeah, no snow here yet... Its not looking promising either. Last year we had tons around here. Had my 5000 out all the time.
Those things are lil rockets!
Sweet muscle sled.
Single pipe? For a lake racer?
Minty AF!
Do those fuel gages work properly?
+Quentin Raffensperger this is a aftermarket gauge and i should have got one longer but they work ok.
cool, thx...btw Bolens used to make snowmobiles for a few years back in the 60's.
Were these Suzuki or Kawasaki?
The last of the Kawasaki engines in Cats were 1974/75. 100% Suzuki 1976 on.
@@curtekstrom9531 thx.!
