@@Infamous1892 This show is showing us how the arrogance of the Jedi will grow to a point 100 years later the Sith just walk into teh Senate and take over. The Jedi do NOT want to believe the Sith are back. So for example they are NOT letting the high council know what's going on. They want to end what's happened before the high coucil get involved. This will be to their downfall. I love Star Wars lore and this is giving fans like me what I want about how the Jedi could let Sith come back into power. They are arrogant and don't want to know the truth.

It's okay to not like the show. If you don't see giant issues with Disney's treatment of SW, then cool. Enjoy it as you will. But if folks point out real, logical problems with the story and canon and cite references backing their argument, it has a place in a conversation. But then the White Knights and Cope Kings come in and try to shame every person for having original thoughts and opinions on a show that don't match their own. Making their projections of blaming others for doing it even more obvious.
If you love the new Star Wars, then I think your judgement is bad. But I'm happy for you as well because I'm not here to take your enjoyment away from you. What Disney is doing right now in their live action SW offerings isn't entertaining for me anymore. It's Star Wars reimagined as Twilight, with a bunch of LGBT stuff thrown into the story with no real point other than to shock and awe and force people into understanding that this is Star Wars now. It's not about a magical prophecy telling a Heroes' journey to redeem the sins of his father. It's a bunch of bitter pessimists blaming everything on men. It's about tearing down the idea that there can be good, positive things in the world to work towards and replacing it with the mentality of that life is always a bitter struggle of betrayal and getting them before they get you. And that it's always someone else's fault, never your own. I personally don't like that ideal or endgame for Star Wars. YMMV.

The ending of this video blew me away because I think Allen figured it out. IT IS QIMIR. But isn’t really. He is a puppet, hence why he is afraid of "the master". The master possesses him and others, the master "collects" people. Torbin was easily subjugated on episode 3, we know from the trailers that the same happened with Kelnacca. We also know that for some reason, both Kelnacca and Torbin are the most remorseful by what happened on the planet Brendok. What if ‘possessing’ Qimir, Torbin, Kelnacca is a way of perpetually binding these people to their master? Whatever this dark force user is doing - and I’m betting that’s Mother Koril - is scheming, it involves using people to do their dirty work. Koril doesn’t simply takes over Mae or Osha because they are their daughters, she wants them to succumb to the dark side just like her. I cannot fucking wait for next week.

It's the same with traditional martial artists nowadays. You have like a hand full of schools actually teaching how to fight with that stuff, that use regular sparing against resisting opponents and techniques that are become obsolete are sorted out, where the people training it actually can fight and then a vast bubble of schools just teaching dozens of forms, without actually understanding what those were meant for in the first place and just focus on aesthetics, instead of practoicality and then get their asses handed to them, thinking they can fight, by just doing forms alone.
People who train to fight properly are better fighters, no matter what practical style they prefere using and people who don't train how to fight, can't. Simple as that.

I had a thought watching Episode 4, when Qimir brought up how Mae has tried to snatch sabers in mid-battle and she said the whole "Kill a Jedi without a weapon" was more of a riddle than anything.
I'm wondering if instead of meaning "Kill a Jedi while Mae is unarmed" it means "Kill a Jedi who is unarmed (a Jedi without a weapon)"?
Though it could also be a whole metaphor, meaning that she will destroy a Jedi (I'm betting Master Sol) by revealing the truth about what happened in Brandok (perhaps something that even Sol doesn't know yet) or forcing him to confront some other revelation that would cause him to leave the Order, thus "killing a Jedi without a weapon".
They seem to be leading to something along one of those lines, since they keep bringing that line up and continue building toward SOMETHING happening on Brandok beyond just what we've seen so far.

I agree. Whatever happened on Brandok hasn’t been fully explained to us or I believe the Jedi Order as a whole. I think Sol and the others covered something up. Those witches didn’t die in a fire, they clearly hadn’t even been burned yet. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the mothers survived and is the who Mae calls the master. She knows of the dark side but isn’t a Sith. Because whoever “Master” is, has a clear grudge against the Jedi but more specifically the Jedi who came to their coven that night.
I think “kill a Jedi unarmed” means kill a Jedi’s will to be a Jedi or connection to the light. I agree I think the Master wants the truth of Brandok exposed which will “kill” Master Sol’s will.
My theory is the Jedi could have saved some the witches and elected to only save the Mae and Osha and left the witches to die. And I suspect not all of them died.

Reason why Andor worked was because Tony Gilroy didn’t come into the project as a Star Wars fan. He wasn’t in awe of it like some directors who grew up on it (think JJ Abrams). He didn’t focus on fan service or member berries. He wasn’t forced to work under the SW formula with lousy dialogue and creating goofy alien characters to sell toys to kids, or in Grogu’s case, sell plush toys to grown women like Jane Slater (Dallas Cowboys reporter).
Tony Gilroy did it his way and it worked. Andor may not feel like Star Wars to some. No Jedis, no lightsabers, no Force users. But to me, Star Wars can go beyond all that and some Skywalker family involving that galaxy’s Space Jesus who was born from an immaculate conception. Andor starred a Mexican actor, several female characters, and a lesbian couple and we didn’t blast it for being WOKE because the writing is actually quite good.
“Wait a minute, how did this happen? We’re smarter than this.”
“From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!”
“Hold me like you did by the lake in Naboo.”
SW has never been strong with dialogue. Go back to Revenge of the Sith and you will find clunky dialogue in it. The least bad dialogue actually comes from The Empire Strikes Back and Andor. Empire probably had the most memorable quotes next to A New Hope. I think Andor might have the greatest screenplay for any SW project. Three incredible monologues from Kino, Luthen, and Maarva.
Andor might have been a FLUKE by Disney knowing how bad Star Wars has gotten since The Last Jedi. I actually have Andor right next to House of the Dragon among my favorite series during the last 5 years. I have HOT D only slightly higher thanks to DAEMON fookin’ TARGARYEN. I usually don’t put any SW project that high but Andor is that rare exception. Andor S2 next year in June is going to be my most anticipated in 2025.
I’m starting to realize the real acolyte is Leslye Headland and the Sith Lord is Kathleen Kennedy. The Acolyte is the most lore breaking thing ever done to SW. Well, maybe since The Rise of Skywalker. The return of Palpatine completely destroyed everything the ORIGINAL TRILOGY characters worked for. Anakin killed Palpatine to save his son. That’s all gone and it means nothing anymore. Yet, TRoS has an 86% audience score from 50,000+ verified reviews. Say what?
Great shirt that Erik Voss wore. Han did shoot first. I love Han but I know Harrison doesn’t. 😂 The irony here is while Harrison loves Indy, his personality is closer to Han. Harrison is a pilot just like Han. He can be a grouch. Harrison didn’t do TFA for a SW revolution, he did it for the money 💰. The child in me only wants to believe there are still only 3 SW movies. The purist in me wants to pretend the SEs, Prequels, and anything after never existed. Well, except for Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, and Andor. ORIGINAL TRILOGY (despecialized), ftw!
I will admit this regardless if a majority of us thinks The Acolyte is TRASH or not, the scene of that masked Sith Lord (or apprentice who would be above an acolyte) hovering down like that was pretty effin’ cool. As Grace Randolph said, it did feel like a SW horror movie for a moment. It actually gave me Batman 1989 vibes during that opening scene. The Force push against 8 Jedis was even cooler. Even more powerful than when Kylo Ren froze that laser beam in the opening scene of The Force Awakens.
Nia (Star Wars Theory) is calling him Smilo Ren. That’s cute. 😂 The teeth on the helmet reminds me more of Abeloth. Being Filipino, I’m actually rooting for Manny Jacinto 🇵🇭 to portray Smilo Ren. I want to see my people portray a Sith. Notice when the cast were given action figures of themselves, Manny never showed what he got. And Manny’s portrayal is a bit unconventional. He plays a fool but he’s really the baddie. It’s like a🃏Sith.
I think if those last two minutes were never shown in Episode 4, I probably would not have the urge to watch Episode 5. I share similar opinions with Allen Xie (Generation Tech). We liked Ep 3 more which seems everyone else hated but we didn’t care for the awful pacing and bad dialogue in Ep 4. The last two minutes was the only thing that saved Ep 4 for us. BTW, Sol is pronounced soul and not saul? That’s how Qimir pronounced it to Mae. Makes sense. Lee Jung-jae is South Korean and the capital of South Korea is Seoul 🇰🇷.
For a show with only a 14% audience score, I do find it funny that haters/grifters like Tyrone Magnus and Star Wars Theory continue to watch it. House of the Dragon S2 is already out and Tyrone hasn’t made one review for it yet. Maybe it’s in his Patreon, I don’t know? But when an Acolyte episode drops, a review from Tyrone drops right away. Same from Jeremy Jahns. Same from Call me Chato who is calling it The Ejacolyte. Then all the breakdown videos for it from Grace Randolph, Emergency Awesome, New Rockstars, Screen Crush, Heavy Spoilers, and so forth.
I thought nobody is watching it but it seems everyone is watching it and then they have an opinion for it right away. Then when some review for the episode comes out, thousands of comments floods the comment section. Usually saying it’s trash, it’s horrible, it’s awful, it’s WOKE, it sucks, it’s the worst, the same adjectives. I guess that’s a good thing for a SW channel like Meg’s. Get people talking about it. Doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad. Viewership for these channels goes up.
She-Hulk has a higher audience score and I already tuned out by Ep 2. Didn’t waste my time with Secret Invasion and Echo. Won’t waste my time with The Rings of Power S2, another trainwreck headed for us in late August. I did enjoy The Lord of the Rings Trilogy but I didn’t watch The Hobbit Trilogy and I’m not into their lore as much compared to GRRM’s or Star Wars. It seems to me The Acolyte is getting more attention than even The Boys S4. Culture Wars is the name of the game on RUclips and social media.
Back at the grind next Tuesday night/Wednesday discussing about the worst Star Wars project of all-time. Not bad attention for a 14% series. Haters can’t keep their eyes away from it. They’re quietly HOOKED for it every week. Trainwrecks can do that for you. Can’t keep your eyes away from it. Then these grifters will work on their next comedy script mocking it. I bet a few of them are secretly enjoying it but don’t want to admit it because they got to do their hater/grifter shtick to get those clicks.
    Shills = losers
    Grifters = losers
    Losers vs. losers.
It’s effing STAR WARS!! 🤣 This is not exactly high art we’re talking here. Allen Xie who runs a Star Wars channel even said it in his most recent video. It’s catered to children. The entire SW franchise has won 7 Oscars but never for Best Picture. Star Wars is what popularized FAST FOOD movies right after Jaws. It’s like comparing McDonald’s vs. Burger King.
This is not high art, people. Star Wars is closer to the quality of Godzilla and James Bond but it has expectations that it’s supposed to be the greatest of all-time. It’s not The Godfather. Star Wars is just popcorn entertainment. It’s going to be as brainless as the next Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, or Jurassic World movie. It’s not going to be directed by Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, or Quentin Tarantino.
Watch Star Wars for the mindless fun. The Acolyte or any future SW project needs to have the same level of expectations as Godzilla x Kong. Of course, I’m aware The Acolyte has not been fun. The worst SW project ever. The Sith Lord/Qimir might save it but it could be too late.

This is wayy too long nobody's reading g the whole thing
But I will address one thing: there's nothing actually going on in the show itself that is even remotely "woke". Criticizing a show for being "woke" when you're acknowledging that it's doing the exact same things andor did is wild. It's very obvious the opposition is to the creator and her political perspectives rather than anything to do with the show itself.
I think the problem is too many of u get ur opinions directly from the internet and filtered thru political views you feel beholden to, rather than actually trying to see what u urself think and feel abt something. (You in the general sense not u specifically, although u definitely fall on that side of the aisle when it comes to this discussion)

Like, there's been zero fan service. There's not even space to use nostalgia in this show bc yodas the only character any of us would recognize. None of ur arguments against this show make sense or line up together. You insist it's bad then the only support you have is thay andor was good and that other star wars creators also thought it was bad

_liked_ for most of what you said here except for SW being mindless fast food cinema. The OG Trilogy *is* "high art." Lucas didn't intend for it to be that, but it became that. Everything that came after is what boxed Star Wars in to this casual popcorn entertainment for kids.
Until _Andor._ That show changed the game.

Complain and exaggerate, it's what Star Wars 'fans' do best
And to be clear there are good criticisms about this show, but 90% of criticisms are just ridiculous such as "not enough white men" or Ki Adi Mundi now has a slightly different age (even though his age before wasn't even canon)

@@stevena.7022 the problem isn't that there are a lot of females in the show. The problem is that it is politically motivated from a very specific movement which does not represent the majority of Star Wars viewers. For example, no one complained that there were only Dark skinned people in Wakanda because it makes sense and there is no motive behind it.

His age actually was canon, from Legends. It was even listed on Wookiepedia, as was the canon detail that his race was short lived. He’d have to have been WELL over 113 when he died, when he was originally 74. That’s no “a little” different.

wasnt there some story about a sith who bound his force presence to a mask. maybe qimir is possesed and needs to find a stronger host. hence the master collects people. also if the sith is just a possesd mask from 1000s of years ago, then the sith never really returned and it wouldnt break canon... Vader architect, i think he was the mask to
