    I'll be interested in seeing how some of the good healers rank this weapon for their builds. Healers still get pushed into light equip loads for the heal bonus, so moving into melee range that most of the abilities of the flail need is risky, but then again so is Oblivion and Void Blade, so like I said - will be interesting to see how the leet peeps end up using it. As one who will be PVE Tank focused for a while (I play all roles currently), I REALLY love this weapon. That's just been playing PTR solo too, so not even taking advantage of the sweet group/support aspects like Human Shield, etc.

      TL;DR: dis shit gon' be nastyy.....
      As a healer main since launch (and healer main in pretty much any game that's got the trinity) I've been very excited for flail... TBH, I tend to stray a bit from the "dump all points into focus" heal-bot mindset a lot of people have on healing, and tend to go for more useful hybrid specs.
      Personally, I plan on trying out a medium armor spec with a round shield (helm,gloves,boots=2heavy,1medium / medium chest, light legs), although you could still easily be in light armor w/round shield if you change out medium chest for light one, but you'd sacrifice overall armor rating, which IMO can be quite risky if going into melee range (about half as much armor value from light w/rs vs medium w/rs).
      In total, we'll end up getting 92 more attribute points, (30pts from lvl 60 to 65, 62pts from gear 625gs to 700gs), allowing for more build diversity when it comes to hitting certain attribute perk bubbles easily whilst keeping up healing/damage output and amount of hp.
      SO... If you truly min/maxed all your gear and attributes, accounting for +40 food, you could potentially see healers running FnS/LS with 100 strength, 300 focus, and 200 constitution (not counting the random "leftover" attribute points.)

    Good to see I wasn't the only one that didn't see any "flail without shield" options. Originally I thought maybe you don't equip the shield if you want to go for the light equip armor stats buff effects, but didn't really see that either. Maybe for light healers, if they want maximal healing power.

    Would appreciate a video about a meta prediction for pve tanks: build and target items
    Will "Odo" be a meta weapon for tanks? Do we stack CON for grid and then Thwarting Strikes or is Hated needed, because of the Con? Or is Enchanted still > Thwarting Strikes? Will Warhammer still be the best 2nd weapon?

    • @danielsterling4918

      enchanted is getting nerfed from ~10% to ~5%, still good but kinda meh. Timekeeper's Hand still top tier though

    What's important is that the flail helps make the Tank/off-tank role more attractive to play. I've been running a dodge tank for a couple years and groups still waiting hours for a tank.

  • @ParagonPanda

    Maybe Tank, Heal, 2 DPS, Flail could be a good group composition.

    Curious where it will fit in for wars. Flail/VG seems very strong for point players and SNS/flail might be the go to tank build which is really cool… wish it had armor penetration passive like GA/WH. Would make sense for it to be a heavy crusher but also able to catch light players.
    Even flail/BB seems strong. Just expecting it to be overtuned like the GS was.

    • @bellgrand
      @bellgrand 11 месяцев назад

      Problem with FL/VG is that without an escape skill, you're dead. And Barrage suffers from the same drawback as Whirlwind: Extremely long cooldown.
      And SNS/FL is cool, but the entire right side of the tree is awkward as hell to skill. You cannot take just Bludgeon and have the capstone that synergizes with it. So you have to drop Smite or Vortex, which are the key supportive skills for that weapon.

    • @khyroz9519
      @khyroz9519 11 месяцев назад

      @@bellgrandI mean thats the same problem we had with VG/IG. This is just another approach on the same concept.

    • @bellgrand
      @bellgrand 11 месяцев назад

      @@khyroz9519 I think you meant VG. People were talking about VG/LS and VG/FS for awhile too. It ended up with VG/IG and VG/GA being meta because those were the only two offhands at the time that offered a way to exit the clump.

    One think about the health increase with armor.
    You can add fortfiy to that? Like fortify gives armor. So if you have 3k armor gives 750 hp. Means if you have 50% fortify you gain an extra 325 hp

  • @PaIadin96
    @PaIadin96 11 месяцев назад

    Cured flailment passive will apply impairment to only one target even if you hit multiple targets.
    Warding bludgeon fortify stacks are consumed even when blocking attacks -> you can't stack impairment while blocking properly.
    So only left tree is viable.
    Ps: barrage is the only good skill from right tree.

    Video is great for sure, and a great rundown of the abilities. My only thing is that you say you're unsure of a few of the abilities and how they work. Why not take the time to test them to get a solid answer and publish that instead of just guessing.
    Good content but skipping testing/informational gathering just to get your video out quicker is meh.
    Either way thanks for the coverage of the abilities for those of us not on the PTR!

      In pvp, its not the great. Maybe pve you get a bigger bang for you buck. So many people OPR was using it, and no one was dying. So I just got that new artifact for healing debuff and they all started dying quickly.

    Newbie here, so sorry if that might be a stupid question, but do the passives also count if I switch to another weapon? Like e.g. "better together" on the left skill tree would be very great for a healer - but I will mostly have the lifestaff in my hand I guess ?! :D

Which is why I was a bit disappointed with this video, tbh, since you were practically only reading through the tooltips, offering your opinion on the skill tree perks. Was hoping for more analysis of the weapon, like which roles will this probably be used for, suggestions for a cpl of builds, etc. Maybe in a future video...?
