How to Find Rest as a Christian

- Sometimes when we have breaks, we can squander our free time on things that have very little productivity. These things may be feel good in the moment, but they do not help us truly rest in a wholistic manner. What may be good for resting your body may not rest your soul or mind. In this video we discuss how to balance those elements so that your free time is spent productively!

I felt like I have so much free time and prayed for help because I know I tend to get sad and feel I’m wasting my time. I went on RUclips (a usual distraction tool) and this was the first video on my feed. I felt the holy spirit just looking at it and got so excited that God answered my prayer and was going to give me wisdom in this area. When you said that God has given me this time of rest as a gift I felt a huge weight lifted, as I had always felt guilty, like I should be more productive with this time the lord has given me instead of “wasting” it. In doing so I don’t even enjoy my free time and feel guilty for it. But through this video the Lord has helped me in this area. Thankyou guys!
There is no such thing as free time. You should be working towards your goal at all times.
@@JohnDoe-bt9qp Maybe there's no such thing as free time for you, John. Relaxing with no aim, but to enjoy the peace of doing nothing is important. We are robots not humans. GOD rested on the seventh day, and told us to do the same.
True indeed.. I can't agree more. It is only then we waste it and not glorifying God if we abuse our time with these recreational things -like playing video games the whole day. As the saying goes everything that is too much is bad. So just a friendly reminder not to indulge too much of those stuffs. Thanks 🙂☝️🙏
I know exactly how you feel. I would spend most of my free time playing on my computer, watching movies, even christian movies, it doesn't matter what was playing on the screen, what matters is the fact that i was wasting away precious moments, moments i could have spent in the company of the Holy Spirit or reading a book, improving my mind, doing something more constructive. I would feel so sad, depressed and guilty afterwards because i let the time just pass me by, while indulging in useless distractions. I realized finally, thank God, that it's not really my time i was wasting, the whole concept of "mine" is a little bit shaky right now, because i realize that God wants all of me, that includes my time, which is actually His, like my heart, my mind, my body ... You see, I was holding back, not willing to give it all and to sacrifice my wants and needs 100 %, to give all of my moments to God. Dear one, take care and may the Lord bless you !

i’ve always felt kinda guilty whenever i used my free time for anything that wasn’t the bible or prayer or something like that, but the Lord has opened my eyes because of this video, i know now that watching shows or playing video games is okay in moderation. thank you 🙏
I'm surprised people don't talk about this. I have experienced this in the past and never understood why i felt bad when i spent rest days playing games and relaxing all day. It's weird but it makes a lot more sense now.

1. Be thankful; instead of "I want" say "I have"
2. Be Balanced; do things that balances your heart, soul, mind and strength
3.Be rested; connect yourself with God; grow in your love for God

I have been looking for a video like this for a while now. Thank God for sending this my way. I recently decided to give my time back to God because i used it for things i wanted to do wich was video games and shows. My soul felt empty and i knew this wasn't right. I thought that if i came to God then video games and shows would be taken away from me and that held me back. Finally through Gods strength i was able to say 'enough is enough, i want God more then video games' and decided to let that go. Now this video and the people around me told me it's ok to sometimes play but to be balances. I'm so thankfull to God that not only do i now have my relationship with God again but He also blessed me with understanding of where games and shows has it's place. Thank you for the service that you give brother!
This is soo timely because I’m on spring break and Lord knows I’ve been struggling to manage my time wisely always on my phone but today I know that God wants more for me than to just enjoy this time but to worship him through it all. ❤-I love you Jesus.
As I came back from work and I had about an hour to get ready for cleaning up from my church’s vbs. I feel in my heart to pray and give thanks to the living God through this comment section.
Dear heavenly father, thank you so much for showing me this video the moment I was going to enter a brief period of rest. I’m so thankful for working a good amount of hours from the job I acquired through a brother, which I ask you to keep using and blessing. I’m so thankful for the food I ate and my sister who has wonderfully prepared it. I’m thankful I got to leave out of town for a university orientation and came back safely with my family. I’m incredibly thankful for the time and opportunity you have given me to learn just a little bit more about your kindness and goodness. My life is so full of your blessings, I’m at the brink of crying as I type this comment. I pray for any other brother who needs to see this video in a similar way I have. I was just wasting my time online and was getting a weird feeling about wasting my time and when I started to watch time I immediately started breaking down I know that God was speaking to me at that moment and I am so grateful❤️

Eeh this is 2 months old from when I'm watching it and now that it's my vacation and my birthday week... I will go and do these things. Shoot today I spend the whole day watching RUclips biblical videos and sew my dress. I tried fasting but I need to try again. This is so great.
I needed this. Many a day I know God will ask what I did for Him, and the answer won't be good. Maybe do a basket of snacks for a homeless person, or a $5 bill they can do with what they will.
I like to use the phrase: Be Refreshed instead of rest because rest implies stillness but being refreshed can be done by many different avenues and activities. It also implies becoming invigorated and getting new strength. 😊 Be refreshed y'all!

I know this video is an old one, but it's exactly what i needed to hear!
I recently rededicated my life to the Lord, so I've had to deal with and give up a WHOLE lot of my pastimes & hobbies (read ADDICTIONS!) because they were very worldly & unhealthy for me & i know i can't do them anymore if i want to serve the Lord the way i want to.
This has left me in a real pickle when it comes to FREE TIME! i typically do pretty good. I walk a lot outside in the country around my house & i read my Bible & books by Ed Cole about becoming a godly man. I also watch godly movies with my Mom once in a while. I do okay.
It's when it's raining & i can't go outside when i want to or when i get extended periods of alone time that i struggle. More often than i like to admit i end up watching movies or shows i know are wrong or letting my mind wander over ungodly, unhealthy things.
Afterwards, i feel burned out & empty inside & i feel guilty. I can't concentrate & i feel ungrateful & aggravated! Its terrible!
I'm gaining victory in these areas of my life & discovering new & better outlets, but thanks again for this video!

This video showed on my feeds on this exact day when I notice that I'm always anxious on what should I do on my daily life to make it productive instead of playing games or some kind of stuff that doesn't even matter. So now I will always prefer for the things that doesn't waste my time and I will keep myself relax and have a right schedule of sleep.

Video impact ministries I am so grateful and thankful that God was able to show me this video today since I’ve always struggled with the mindset that if you become a Christian you have to give everything up for God, but it made me blind to the fact that God wants us to be happy as well and enjoy the good hobby but to always remember to put him first. Wow, Im really feeling major conviction after this, thank you, this came to me at the perfect time. :) I've been struggling a lot with balancing games and the Lord, and even though I try to justify it by saying "Im relaxing" I know deep down that I'm neglecting the only one who can truly give me rest- and that is, Jesus.
