Keep in mind that purchasing an RPG requires hundreds of hours of training as well as extensive background checks. The current system for even regular guns (background check run by an FFL holder) catches 99%+ of those trying to purchase illegal guns. Machine guns and explosives are heavily prohibited.

@@sagevalo2664 Yes, it's true that even in defense against a tyrannical state you don't need full auto. In fact, most combat happens with semi auto. Also, 60 rounds per minute is pretty low, the average person with a bolt action would probably get 30 rounds per minute. Full auto is also not useful in mass shooting most of the time, if you want to conserve ammo (which you would, unless you're carrying your bodyweight in ammo). The only time it was really useful was during the las vegas shooting, which at this point was almsot undoubtedly government orchestrated

Right, but why though? 30.06 is probably enough to down anything that moves, and that's shot from a bolt action Springfield 1903 or a low capacity m1 garand. You don't need a semi-auto gun to have enough power to kill something if you hunt. Plus, people have hunted for generations before the advent of the semi-auto rifle, using things like repeating rifles and bolt actions.

Sometimes a home intruder will prepare with body armor, it goes in certain levels. if the intruder happens to be wearing 3A body armor, your pistol, (unless your shooting a 50. AE or some pistol that's practically more of a threat than an AR) nor your shotgun is going through that armor, I own an AR-15 and its because I want to be able to protect me and my family without having to worry if my ammunition will actually get to them and go through them.

Joe, Many Assault rifle are used for hunting exotic animals and stuff like hogs 223 and 556 are good hunting rounds and can take down hogs good. That is mainly what they are used for but people also just straight up shoot guns for fun.
But that’s also what I don’t get is why people enjoying hunting. Maybe this is my suburban ass speaking but how do people enjoy shooting animals then killing the for no reason food yes but most don’t use it for that if you enjoy hunting could you maybe explain the enjoyment from it?

Hunting can help with over population as well. I could ask the same stuff about abortion and seem just as right. Well why do you need to have sex? What's the fun in it? Why are abortions needed, couldnt you just stop having sex? But it doesnt work that way, because this is America. Were about freedom first, safety and security second, because youre really not safe if youre not free. You have the freedom to learn about guns, how to safely use them, and use them for whatever you deem you should use them for. You have the freedom to learn about sex, how to be safe about it, what its uses are for, meaning its your right to be responsible with the act. The government doesnt tell you what kind of sex to have, when to have it, etc. They dont regulate your sex life because you are responsible for that because its your freedom. Same goes with guns, it is your freedom, take advantage of it, learn about it, and teach your peers and other alike how to handle and use this stuff responsibly. If talking and being more open about sex in school leads to less pregnancies, then why dont we teach gun safety in class? Wouldnt there be less gun deaths? If you believe teaching kids about gun safety in class wouldnt solve anything then the same would go for sex education.
@@LuemD, Most “hunters” do hunt and kill the animal, then clean it, butcher, clean, cut, etc. and it’s ready to eat. Hunting is far more humane than killing a caged animal from a farm, sure, farming cattle is great for the economy and putting food on our plate, but it’s definitely not the best for the animal. You’re thinking of sport hunters, hunters that kill for sport. While most people who do hunt only do so for sustenance, and do it because it’s better for the animal, the hunter and his family, and hunting crowded game is good for the ecosystem.

It is unlawful to take possession of a machine gun unless ATF has approved the transfer and registration of the firearm to the new possessor. Note that the NFA also requires the transferor of a machine gun to pay a $200 tax for each transfer. ATF may make exceptions to this tax in certain circumstances.
You need to have an FFL and SOT license to be able to own or manufacture any fully automatic firearm created after 1986. ALONG with the 200 tax stamp per NFA item you also have to pay about 500 dollars a year in taxes to keep your licenses. You also have to prove you are acquiring these licenses as a means for business (buying, selling, and manufacturing NFA items for profit) not just any joe schmo can apply for these licenses.

Once there was a threat that a kid was going to shoot up my middle school and the principal and the other adults told us to go to school that day and they literally bribed us and gave us 5 dollars worth of bowling alley arcade points luckily nothing happened.
a kid posted a handgun on his story in highschool because i guess some kids jumped his friend at the park behind us where a lot of people would go. he posted it while at the park somebody said something after seeing it and we went into lockdown for like 2 1/2 hours maybe 3 and school was just over after that. The kid who posted the gun was in my class and me and all my friends in that class thought it was hilarious because we knew he wasnt actually shooting up the school it was just for the people who jumped his friend, so we made a bunch of jokes and i eventually made a girl leave the class balling her eyes out because she legit thought we were gonna get shot. They had like three vans and a shit ton of cops looking for the kid around the park and area lol. Never saw him again lol he posts on snap still but not guns anymore

As a conservative, I believe that the 2nd Amendment and firearms should not be taken away, but rather restricted. Mental evaluations, specific licenses for certain firearm classes, and stronger security in and outside of schools should be an in-effect solution. What happened at Uvalde must’ve happened due to a lack of precaution and security if there has been over 20 casualties in total.
What happened was unfortunate, I totally agree, there need to be restrictions to legally own a fire arm especially if you have a mentally ill member in your home. Also with Uvalde there was a very large amount of security there compared to other schools like my own, but the problem was with law enforcement who wanted to wait before entering. In order to prevent more events like these from occurring, we need to raise security and precautions, and just as importantly we need to fix the way our government reacts to them.
There already are pretty strict rules to get a license for a firearm, mentally I’ll people can not get a firearm, but they can’t tell that they’re mentally I’ll if they haven’t seeked medical attention.

The argument for the access of ARs and other semi automatic rifle, or rifle like firearms stems from law abiding citizens vs criminals. Criminals simply do not care about the law, if they want an illegal firearm, 9 times out of 10 they either buy it from the black market or steal it from a registered owner. How does this strengthen the pro gun narrative? Because citizens who obey the law and are able to purchase ARs and such will have a better chance of survival if worse comes to worse, as opposed to them not being able to purchase these guns and the criminals being able to get their hands on them. If a law passes that bans semiautomatic rifle systems and forbids law abiding citizens from purchasing them, then the only people suffering are the law abiding citizens, because now only criminals will have the guns.

An AR-15 is way too exaggerated and I find it hilarious. Firstly, an AR-15 is just like any other rifle, (Hunting rifles, similar rifles). You can go hunting with an AR-15, it will act like a hunting rifle, all it is is a semi-automatic rifle. Not a light machine gun, not an automatic gun (But you could get one, which most states require different type of liscense to get one), or an assault gun. Assault rifles are weapons used in war. AR-15 is a civilian weapon that is not used by the military. Also, in general, A gun in general is absolutely harmless, the idea a gun is super dangerous is false, its the person behind it. According to most liberals, people with guns want to use it to kill people, which is false, since most of all of the mass shootings were caused by mostly left winged people, and most of the shootings took place in gun restricted zones and cities. Left wingers typically have a worse mental health state, since in todays world, they are way too soft. Overall, everyone makes the AR-15 way too controversal and makes the right to own a gun seem bad, when in reality, it is not even your average gun owner who even commits these crimes but it is the people with a low mental state, and drive themself into a gun free zone. Also, I am 16, I have an AR-15, I understand how it works, I understand how to use it, and when to use it. If more people were taught about gun safety, along with having a higher mental health in this country, things like mass shootings wouldn't be an issue.

While I am still young, and don't know a lot about politics necessarily, I do feel like I have a pretty good understanding of how/why gun fans and haters have their ideas. I understand that people who are for guns--like myself--want them for protection of their family and because it's an unalienable right (2nd amendment), but I also see the other side's points because yeah, guns are scary when in the hands of a criminal.
The guy talking about Chicago and their gun related crimes is somewhat true: Chicago has a lot of gun restrictions, yet also the highest crime rates in America (I think). See, criminals are criminals because they *don't* follow the law, that means they don't give a damn about the gun restrictions. They will do anything to get any weapon, like a firearm, in their hands. In fact, they probably thank the restrictions because that means the common, law abiding citizens like us won't be able to fight back.
That's the pro gun thinking, but I also understand why people still want to take away guns... I feel like all they see is only the gun, and not the person holding it. Again, I could be wrong, this is my opinion. Like, I understand the thought of guns being in the hands of the wrong people is terrifying, 100%, but I don't understand how they don't see the person. Like the kid who shot up his school, as well as the hundreds of other murderers, wasn't the gun's fault, it was his fault as well as the person who sold him the firearm. The gun can't magically shoot by itself, a *person* has to pull the trigger.
I think there needs to be more training for guns, and for people to be more cautious when handing them out, because i'm sure every sane person doesn't want an insane person walking about with a gun strapped to his side.
Again, so sorry for the wall of text, I just thought I could share my opinion. If you want to share your opinion please feel free to, I love learning about other people's thoughts and ideas, just try not to start arguments and respect them all
I feel like I’m alone with this opinion but obviously there has to be a change I think that it should be background checks and gun licenses. What would the negatives to these be? I also think it is very bad parenting but not single parents, instead guardians of kids not raising them right or teaching them how to be good human beings. I honestly think that Semi-Automatic rifles should be legal because there is always certain occasions when you may need that weapon to protect yourself from many people. I also think the minimum age to own a gun is 21. At 21 you become an adult in my eyes and you can then drink and do whatever without someone by your side. Everyone has their own opinion and I will respect your opinions but I expect to receive respect for my own also, even if you don’t agree. I would say I am a right-wing libertarian, so if you would like to know my thoughts on abortion you should probably know.
Forgot to mention, when people are interviewed like this video, they usually show very few normal people and instead the extremists from each side only causing more hate, and making people from opposite side look bad and it affects the whole group who has that opinion.
I wholeheartedly agree with this, especially with carrying firearms to defend yourself, because I feel like we can't always rely on the police to save us.
i definitely agree with you however one part where you aren’t necessarily right is about background checks and licensing. in order to purchase a firearm you must complete an fbi background check which usually takes 2 to 5 days (i believe it’s the 4473). as for licensing, you already have to have a class 3 nfa tax stamp in order to purchase not only certain firearms, but certain accessories such as suppressors (even though the atf admits that suppressors change nothing in shooting statistics). you are 100% correct about parenting, the majority of mass shooters are men and the most important person in raising a boy is a good father figure , this is especially seen in statistics that link not having a father to being less likely to graduate high school, higher likelihood to join gangs, and higher likelihood to being sent to prison.

I think its horrible that those kids died but when the lady said she has a pistol and think theres no need for semi automatic rifles got me frustrated. Its not the guns that killed people its the person behind the weapon. Its hard to use that scenario to ban guns because the guy shot up a school thats a no gun zone no one was armed. Go to almost any neighborhood in Texas or Florida and try to shoot it up you will be dead in minutes. People act like a ar15 is so deadly and it destroyed the kids bodys thats because there like 3rd graders. A ar15 shoots a high velocity pistol round if u look at the bullet of a 5.56 and a 9mm it looks very close in size the only difference is the gun powder inside the casing. Those cops do deserve some punishments for standing there to. But shotguns are fine but if that guy had a shotgun instead of rifle they really wouldn’t be able to recognize anyone. Shotguns are way more dangerous close range.

Joe I do respect your opinion and have no issue with your comment on ar15s that’s your 1st amendment right, but the reason regular people need semi-auto rifles is simply to keep the government in check, it is harder to oppress a population that has the same weapons as you that’s what the second amendment is all about, but also, a rifle such as an ar15 is much easier to handle in the event of a home invasion and will put less holes in your wall if you miss, ps. It is illegal without a federal firearms license to own a machine gun or most any explosives

ar15s are not assault rifles, they are semi automatic. They are as dangerous as every other semi auto that use the same cartridge, I do know that they are dangerous but what's so special about them?

My dad has a ar-10 semi-auto. It is the funnest thing to shoot at the range, other than our shotgun. The reason that people go and shoot other people is because family members don’t talk to them. They have nothing, so they are jealous of people who have something.
