    I hate aphids but I also really hate spider mites which I am currently dealing with. I will be tearing down my whole room soon to clear them out. I will get my seeds started then after that I'll try to start new aerogardens after that time. I will be doing the purge method. It just works better for us given the outside garden and a little travel we have planned. But it is so annoying to have to do that. Fungus gnats are also bad and they also seem to like aerogardens as well. I feel for you.

      Thank you! I would give anything to just have a few fungus gnats right now. Lol! I did have a few spider mites, but I find them incredibly easy to get rid of in comparison. I feel for you, too. Sorry you are ripping apart your whole room. But I totally get it!

    have you tried any foliar spraying with Neem oil, Nicotine, Capsasin wash etc? and or any dry dusting with DE/dried ghost peppers "Capsasin"... a bit of work... yet I water and check them every day so just another step to mitigate them and havent lost a "Full" harvest at all from needing to chop out... as well I have noticed that the stronger the cell structure "BRIX" I can get a plant (=strong healthy plant) the less they are interested... like chewing bark... yet thus why always attaching to our lettuce first #2CentThoughts

      I like that capsasin idea and nicotine

      @@jqc5 gotta ease in on the Nicotine application and note how the plants/ aphids are reacting before upping strength of application... ( #My2Cents )

    Honeeeeey, get some ladybugs! I battled aphids myself and I got 1500 ladybugs for around $20 and they took care of the problem FOR ME! I still have ladybugs in my house here and there and it’s been about 6 months. We love the ladybugs because they keep the pests away!

    • @littletechgirl2
      @littletechgirl2  Год назад +1

      I say in the video why I'm not using ladybugs. And to add to that my husband would not go for it.

      @@littletechgirl2 I know, I was just telling you from first hand experience that it is what saved my plants and worked for me.

      @Kelly Collins if it were an actual room I would consider it. But unfortunately I don't have walls around my area, just curtains so no way to seal it off. But thanks! I do know that ladybugs works for a whole lot of other people, but then they complain about finding them all over the house both alive and dead. Me and my garden area would be on punishment.

    Do ants bring in aphids?

    • @littletechgirl2
      @littletechgirl2  Год назад

      I suppose they can. But in my case I do not have ants at all. Ants usually go where the aphids already are and farm them.
