Hi everyone! A few of you have mentioned that you've found the segment on making the hand a bit too fast to keep up with. Apologies for that! It was my first time making a tutorial so the pacing might not be perfect.
I've made a little image of all the steps to follow for the hand which you can find here: imgur.com/a/edP5x8R I hope you find that useful and it helps you with the hand process! I'll try to improve my pacing and clarity in future tutorials as well 😊
I'm about to start this today, so I don't know if you went too fast, but just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to make this video and guide! ^^
I can't move certain verticies
help
Honestly this is the most relaxed and calm tutorial I’ve seen in a while. Usually I’m pausing every couple seconds to take in whatever they just spat out. So thank you!
Real noob here: but how did she made the fingers cilinders? I am using an older version of blend, is there an option to make the fingers cilinders?
I'm just starting to learn character modelling but this seems like a tutorial that teaches so much more than the others I've followed so far! When I get time I'm gunna follow u through, for now I'll keep watching and listening 👀👀
Thank you for watching! I hope you have a fun time on your Blender journey when you do start 🙏
For anyone stuck on 24:13 do this!
1. make round cube
2. cut cube in half
3. go to object mode press shift s and select cursor to selected
4. do the mirror modifier!
hope this helps!
aaaa you have saved me! tysm!
@@Yuyukatanz npppp!!!!!
help when i do mirror it didnt show up….
Theres a couple ways you can fix this. Check where the origin of your geometry is, if its on the object send it to the middle of where you want to mirror the object.@@astikusumaputri8441
@@astikusumaputri8441 make sure you have selected the right axis (x,y,z) , that could be the issue
While all my friends start with a donut, I start with my own character! I was able to change a few things to fit with my human. But goes to show how well made this video is.
I’m really happy to hear that, I hope you had fun making your character! Good luck on your 3D journey 🙌
@@EveSculpts Thank you, and I am more than glad you were a part of it.
i started with a nightmare version of kirby
you should definitely start with a donut though it teaches all the basics this is a bit more complex
Look, what you did is absolutely incredible. I've always wanted to try 3d modeling but Blender was too overwhelming to simply look at. You explained wonderfully step by step, with all the hotkeys and a simple cute model without overcomplicating anything. Now Blender isn't scary anymore! Thank you so much!
Wow thank you so much! I'm so happy it made Blender less overwhelming for you, that was always my goal with these tutorials. Good luck with 3D and I hope you enjoy my future videos too!
So far I am having the same experience with this tutorial!! I love it!
what version of blender are u using
@@EveSculpts Yeah you're an amazing teacher. Following along with you is great! I love the simplicity you bring yet effectiveness. You make modelling fun
When I won't have 6 zillion uni assignments, I will be trying your tutorial. Seems like you wrap up basic concepts that are useful to actually get it done. :3
Awesome, hope you have fun with it! And good luck with your uni assignments 🙌
You and me both bud, as soon as the Holiday starts I'm hitting blender
Cool way of explaining things, nice pace, cute not overly complicated characters. Please bring it on!
22:01 the issue with the pupil glitching on the mirrored side can be avoided by scaling and rotating on edit mode instead of object mode. BTW, thanks for the tutorial
omg thank you! i was having that issue and it was getting me crazy
at point 19:00 you can ctrl+r and then scroll your mousewheel to make more edge loops, that way its evenly distributed.
just tip! i hope its useful!
thanks for the great video!
THIS TUTORIAL was the one that got me into blender. without this tutorial i would not be a 3D artist. thank you mage bunny
Honestly this is probably the most approachable and helpful tutorial I've seen for character modeling that covers all the basics and handy moment-to-moment tricks of actually using the program. Awesome stuff!
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen for blender, still relevant a year later. Went from never 3d modelling to making my first vtuber model in under a few weeks thanks to this!
Absolutely one of the best Blender tutorials out there.
Excellent tips on blender but also intro to topology (like “why” to keep roughly square-ish faces) where most others gloss over or don’t even mention. Love the pacing. At first glance the finished project sounds intimidating to a newbie like myself, but you show how it’s very approachable and not too tough at all.
Everything gone over applies to loads of other ideas and projects. Very inspiring.
Keep up the good work!
Hey peeps just an update for people still trying to figure out why their round cube has a seam. Even after messing with mirror modifier. Right after you add the rounded cube the menu on the bottom left pops up and she tells you to make the radius 1.00 @3:35. Right above that where is says "Operator Presets" try restoring operator defaults. Once I did that it worked for me!
omg thank you!!
Thank you!!
Thank you so much. I had to start over because I did not even notice there was a really big gap in the torso until I was 1/3 through the video.. I was so intent on following allong.
all it does is reset the thing to 0.2 and I still have the problem is there something I'm doing wrong?
Pro tip: if this doesn’t work, also make sure the “Clipping” box is checked on the mirror modifier
I have watched tonnes of videos on blender and none of them really make any sense to me. the way you explained it, however, was just *mwah*! i totally get it now!
You are by far the best teacher for soft soft . It's very complicated at first - overwhelming, actually - but, you make it doable for
girl i subscribed so fast the moment u said the most reassuring thing i could ever hear atm ✨it's normal to feel intimidated by blender, but it's actually easy to pick up✨ i needed that thank u
The way you explain makes it look so easy, thank you for this tutorial!
This is a really great video!! Looking forward to the next one on UVs! :D
Thank you, I'm really happy you like it! I'm working on the next part now and it'll hopefully be out soon.
This is one of the first tutorials that really got me excited about Blender. And now I am getting paid to model some characters! I moved on to more high res sculpting, but for this project, I am using your method shown here. Thank you!
That's so great to hear, congrats! I'm glad the tutorial has been useful for you
This is an amazing tutorial! The main advantage of it is not being overwhelming even for novices, so it's very easy to follow it. Thank you so much! It's better to see a complete workflow than trying to match a few dozens little tips.
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found it easy to follow! I wanted to make it very extensive so people can see the whole proces 🙏
Thank you sensei, I'm looking forward to the part 2 ❤️.
Been watching so many of these tutorials and this is one of the best for the style I'm going for. a big *THANK YOU* for making this awesome and helpful content! It's very much appreciated :)
There is so much knowledge in one vid!
I spent 6 hours to learn but this tutorial is so great!
Your explanation is patient and detailed, thank you! :D
I've always been interested in making models just as a light hobby. Definitely will keep this video in mind when I wanna try em out!
This was a great tutorial, easy to follow with nice pacing and the right amount of detail. Looking forward to part two!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for the kind words! Part 2 is coming soon
I've been waiting for this kind of tutorial for a long time!!😭 thank you so much!!
Hi! I'm a 2D illustrator who's always been curious about 3D. I wanted to finally give it a try so I've been following your tutorial all day long and I just finished modelling your cute bunny character. I'm starting the second part of this series right now. I can't wait to finish it and send you the result! I really like your voice and the way you explain things, this tutorial has been super fun so far. Thank you!
That's so great to hear, I'm glad you've found it fun so far! Excited to see your end result 🙌
This is one of the best tuts on pulling 3d out of a 2d image, and I teach this. Thanks... I actually hate having to brush up every couple of years, but you made it extremely easy to follow. Universal process but with less padding (mansplaining) that others do too much of.
For anyone starting out and wanting to learn blender, this (at least for me) has been a great alternative beginner tutorial as opposed to the unanimous "make your own donut." Great stuff and keep up the beginner-friendly vids! :)
This was very helpful; thank you for sharing your process
and I appreciate seeing the mouse and keyboard strokes in the lower left
this is probably my favorite blender tutorial! i'm new to blender and the classic donut tutorial is just too long and i find myself getting lost, this one is the perfect length and i can follow along with my own characters!
I have seen a lot of tutorial videos, and have to say. your comunication skills and the way you apply the core concepts are realllyyy usefull
I’m really glad that you think so and that you found my videos useful! Thank you 🙏
Great clear tutorial with only focusing on what is needed…great job 👍🏻
This is such a big help! I'm a beginner using blender and videos like these bring me motivation to do my own :D
Thank you for this video! We hope to see more content from you
That makes me really happy to hear!! Have fun with it 🙌
I really like how you explain how to do things along with your reasoning of why and how it will affect the project later on, some seriously pro tips in here.. you're easy to listen to and while watching your video I felt confident i could follow along.. However.. once I started actually following along I found myself pausing and backing up a lot.. I mean I REALLY struggled to keep up.. but otherwise this is a great video and I am definitely better for pushing through it. Thanks for your hard work! I will certainly try to keep following along!
I'm almost done with this and I really enjoyed your tutorial! I've never even used a round cube, so that was cool to try. I also like how you merge the verts and pull them back into the sleeves. I usually overthink stuff like that. I learned a lot from this, thank you! ^_^
Damn..I’m so grateful your video popped out at my recommendation. I’m currently learning on how to do my own 3d character in blender using your methods. I’m just leaving this comment here so that after I accomplish my goal, I’ll share with you! Once again, keep up the tutorials coming! Nice effort you put in your videos:)
One of the best tutorials on here. Subscribed. Incredible.
Omggg I literally downloaded Blender today and your tutorial is making my very first time soooo easy!!! You're the best!
I'm only a few minutes into the tutorial, but thank you so much! I'm absolutely loving it so far, can't wait to give it a try myself next time I get the chance. I just wanted to skim it tonight, and was surprised at how easy to follow and informative it was. You're great at this, thanks again.
EDIT: I decided to keep watching for a few more minutes and just shouted "What?!! That's so cool!" seeing how easily you created another mesh for the dress. Wow, I used to think 3d modeling looked so complicated and unfun, but you're making it look just the opposite. Can't wait to give it a try.
I'm really glad you've found it informative! Love seeing that my tutorials have helped make 3D less intimidating for you guys 🙌 Thanks for watching, hope you have fun when you try it out!
I have had Blender for so long and I have never used it. The way you explained everything made me per-sway myself into doing it! Thank you!
Glad I could help! Hope you have fun with Blender and 3D
This is easy to follow and i love that you explain the reasons for things like avoiding triangles
Ah I'm really happy you find it easy to follow! Thank you for watching 😊
that character is just straight up adorable and the tutorial was great! i feel like i finally learned something about blender
this was a lot of fun, I definitely learned a lot! I had a lot of trouble doing some of the parts where it is more up to us, like modeling the hands and rotating and arranging the bags or eyes, it feels like I don't have enough control on how it rotates sometimes, but I'm guessing this part is just up to practice. Going to try part 2 now.
Thank you I'm really glad to hear that! I'll take note for future tutorials and show those areas more in depth so it's less trouble while following along. Tbh they are fiddly areas anyway so it takes a bit of time to tidy them up 🙌 I hope you have fun with part 2!
I watched billions of tutorials but this one is the best so far!
cool video and cute design, looking forward to the next video 👍
This was amazing! I used this to make a 3D model of my own character Moomoo! This not only made the process of modelling not intimidating, it made it fun and rewarding! (And I didn't get stuck fixing vertices that were broken for hours)
I'm really glad to hear that! Happy you've found the process fun 🙌
so far i've watched a part of it. in this video, i learned a lot of things here. was very useful especially for me who've been searching for tuts on modeling.
This was really easy to follow. I did my own image and this helped out alot. Forming all of the shapes at the end for details is proving to be very difficult especially when trying to place them on the model.
I love your simple and efficient explanations! Thank you for the video.
Thank You so much for this very clear, and efficient tutorial ❤ I was kinda scared because I tried it on one of my design instead of doing the exact same thing as you, but It helped me so much organizing my work. Also i learned some great tips/shortcuts !
Im making my own character and ive been retrying for hours on this one video but i think im getting the hang of it thank you im learning a lot
This is the best character modeling tutorial for beginners ive ever seen 🥺 im finally beginning to learn how to model in blender!
Thank you so much! I'm a new blender learner , your tutorials help me a lot~! Please bring it on!
best tutorial I've ever watch.... easy to follow and not too fast. you are so nice, thank you for making this !🥰
Really happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Just got into the 0:14 sec part and I can already tell it is a friking good tutorial!! by the stamps and all of that thank you so much I´ve been wanting to recreate some characters too into 3D it´s been rather rought to do it by myself .
Thank you for being descriptive just started on blender and this was by far the best tutorial keep it up plz! The walk through is 🔥
No words Eve! THAT WAS AWESOMELY AWESOME!! Thank you so much for this. You are so talented in teaching and explaining!!
Congratuatons!
I'm really happy you think so, thank you for the kind words!
Wow wow best and easiest blender tutorial i've seen in years!
Wow, this is one of the best blender tutorials that I've seen! Thank you so much! This is so helpful :)
Thank you for being the only person to explain why all these modelers are using round cubes. I never even considered the triangular faces in a sphere, and i was so confused why all my tutorials wanted round cubes instead.
Посмотрел с большим удовольствием) Видео сделаны очень здорово. Быстро, чётко и понятно. Сделаны очень профессионально, думал за плечами не один десяток созданных гайдов, но на канале их всего 4. Удивлён)
This was fantastic, makes me want to try some modelling now! Thanks for sharing :D
Thank you so much! Go for it and have fun 🙌
The only reason that I was even able to consider learning 3D modelling was that you made it all about the cute bunny. Well played!
The most relaxing tutorial I've ever seen, learned a lot, thank you!
I'm in love with the way you explain. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
I’m glad you find it useful! Have fun modelling 🙌
great tutorial i really love how you explain why we do things instead of just saying to do them c:
Thank you so much! Started a couple days ago with blender and this has been incredibly helpful!
Thank you so much! This is a super cool lesson for me. Some parts of the video go by very quickly but it's still easy to follow.
You are a very attentive teacher))) This is my 100th attempt to start learning blender but the first model I've finished
Great video, can't wait for pt 2
the flow in your tutorial is so smooth that following it was a breeze, thank you so much
Really glad to hear that! Thank you for watching 🙌
Hopefully when I get the time to hop into Blender, I'll be able to try this out! I've always wanted to see how my characters would look in 3D 🤩
I’m in tears right now…my new job surprised me with 3D requirements and this video is helping me keep my job and open new doors for me!! Thank you so much!
I'm really happy to hear it's helped you in a challenging situation, I hope everything goes well! 🙏
looking forward to you next video!
Thank you so much for this!!! I'll have to show you what your tutorial has helped me create! Now I just need to decide which of my drawings/characters I want to use !
Hey, I found your channel on Twitter, congrats on your tutorials, you can explain things in an easy and clear way. I'll recommend you to some people that I know, who are trying to learn Blender.
Love your characters btw!
Thank you, I'm so glad you find my videos clear and helpful! I hope they are useful for your friends too 🙏
Instant subscribed! Amazing detailed explanation for the entire process, keep it up, you are already so much better than some of the RUclipsr out there who switch over Object mode/Edit mode without saying anything, or doing something difficult without saying pressing which keyboard button, and some even didn't enabled keyboard layout....
Thank you! I'm glad my explanations were clear 🙌 I was worried if I was over or under explaining while making this, it's always such a difficult balance
This is easy to follow and i love that you explain the reasons for things like avoiding
This was excellent. Thank you, Eve!
Thank you!! I've been wanting to learn Blender, this seems like something I could do with the little experience I have with it hehe. Can't wait to try it out!!
Thank you Eve, I've learned a lot of new things. Couldn't figure out the hand method, so used for them another tutorial.
Eve, thanks a lot, great video. It would be great if you could post some more. I loved the way you teach, I'd love to see more of your work, even some time lapses where you comment tips and tricks would be great!
Fantastic tutorial series! Thank you for your knowledge and direction.
Wanted to say thank you. I have never really touched a 3d modeling program in my life(ok I poked at a few through the years but nothing serious or for long) But because I am an avid table top rpg fan I wanted to be able to model characters to print. As well design characters people commission me to create. Your steps are fairly easy to follow( For being a first time tutorial it was great)
holy sweet lord in the first 6, ***6*** minutes of opening this tutorial you have helped me immensely and i have been trying to find a decent tutorial to even help get me started on learning to model besides spaztically flailing around lol. and yes the model references have are two, side and front and it works REALLY well with that (and a far more complicated model but the principle is sound.) you deserve a full comment and like. (finding good pased tutorials for blender have been a trip and a half)
Glad to hear my tutorial has been helpful for you!!
Nice workflow, hope to see more!
Really nice explanation on every single little step! I am just learning blender and haven't yet heard from other people of some of the little tricks and tips that make things easier.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Have fun learning Blender 🙌
this is a really nice introduction into 3D reference modeling. I had made a simple sword but that was 2D and then I extruded it to 3D. but now I know how to do 3D as well!
Thank you! This has fascinated me forever. Finally I am learning it thanks to you! You help me to make my dreams true 🎉
what an amazing tutorial it's really helpful and easy to follow with a simple and cute character design it's easy to start modeling my own character that's less overwhelming in design
i just want you to know, this tutorial was so much easier to understand than my professors ar university teaching maya. this is incredibly done, and super =helpful for learning blender! your voice is also very soothing and nice :3
Very timely tutorial! Love it
Dope. This will definitely help me with 3D modeling. Thanks!
You're wonderful teacher... Calm and smoothly teaching 😊😊
You are an angel! I've learned so much, it was my first time using Blender
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR! THANK YOU
thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to the next video.
Got yourself a new subscriber! I've been meaning to learn sculpting on blender and this definitely helped! Can't wait for pt 2
Thank you for subscribing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much for the video! I'm looking forward to the next one)
