Selamat Hari Merdeka! Another great video. Thank you again for sharing you and your family's stories and photos, along with an insight into the early education system in Malaysia (especially for foreigners like me!). Oh, and not forgetting yet ANOTHER addition to the ever-growing list of places to eat in Georgetown!
Thank you!!! It is nice to recall these stories and look back on how far we have come, I hope one day my kids will watch these videos too and remember their childhood fondly.
I agree with you, bro. Character development will take you much further in life, and you can learn new things along the way. I believe you and I have seen many many many examples of a person who's excels in academic vs another person who's an average in academic but doing much better in working life today.
Man is a social animal, after all. Academics are only a small facet of education. I also think as a parent I should teach them manners and culture, it is something I don't expect to be outsourced. Knowledge on the other hand, should be pulled by the individual rather than pushed, and the best way to do that is to develop the child's curiosity.
In Sabah, they call this noodles 'Konlau mein'. In Sarawak, I think is Kolo mein. Btw, you look tougher when you are younger. Oklah, lots of foods in Penang. Enjoy all the foods. 😅
Ah Loy can ur vlogs start featuring your specialty homecooked food such as your hokkien dishes ??? want to see your cooking skills leh... I see tt your wifey cooks well too
I have thought of that, and I have tried but the kitchen I have right now in my rental apartment doesn't have a nice kitchen at all. I think good aesthetics are pretty important in making cooking videos and I have to find a way to get around this. I will try to make some and see what the response is. Stay tuned!
Great sharing on early education Bro. I'm sure many would find it useful. Added Chee Meng to my list. By the way, did you see the durian stall towards Hutton Lane. I think it is called 69 something.. not sure what type of durians though. Wishing you a Happy Merdeka and a nice bbq.... Nice nostalgic kiddy photos of you and your kids 😁
No chance to go eat there. I know 69 Durian stall, near Jln Larut and Hutton Lane junction. I see they have a lot of durians but most probably from outstation
I actually studied in Scotland! But I did travel a fair bit in the US and worked as a cook in Ohio and picked apples in Upstate New York. I love NYC, I went up the Twin Towers a few years before 9/11.
Yo, found a new banana leaf place for you to explore, it's in pulau tikus opposite the wine house called: Anamika Spice Kitchen 10, Lintang Burmah. 11am to 8pm, close on Mondays. Happy Merdeka and have a great weekend. Cheers

Ohhh sounds familiar, which stall is that?
