Plus Superman in his good guy form is always holding back so I don't think we've found out the extent of his capacities.
The way I see this is that even with the wisdom of Solomon he never thought his idol would do this to him. So in that moment of doubt his defenses were low enough supes took advantage. His ice was strong enough to hold Black Adam’s entire body for an extended period. So I think it’s fair that in turn a piece could briefly keep his mouth sealed. Supes was able to fuckin lobotomize doomsday so his heat vision definitely had the capacity. The fact was this was Superman’s final step. The murder of not only an innocent. But a child. That was his final descent into evil.
This is why I will never agree with his philosophy. I’m totally for killing the Joker and a VERY SELECT FEW criminals and monsters, but Billy Batson was neither, just like Huntress, just like Green Arrow.

I'm going to answer that. People justify Superman's actions because letting evil people continue to kill millions and, as punishment, sending them to jail or an insane asylum only for them to break out is self defeating. Now I get Batman's reasons on why Superman did was wrong. But to say that killing someone and, as a result, you becoming a monster is reaching a bit. I don't think every superhero that ends up killing a person becomes a monster. Hell there are a lot of superheroes in the comics that do kill people and are NOT monsters. In superman's case, he shouldn't have killed the joker because he did become a monster for it. But that doesn't apply to everyone. If you could kill someone knowing that this person's death will prevent many deaths, wouldn't you do it? Not all villains should be killed. But some villains deserve to die. I believe killing is acceptable depending on who the villain is.

Not gonna lie, when Injustice (the game) was first released... its story roped me in. Especially the fact that, for the first time ever, I was actually afraid of a fictional character who, up to that point, in one way or another was always a good guy, THE good guy. It made me understand the motivations of Amanda Waller and Cadmus in the Justice League tv series. An evil Justice League, an evil Superman... next to unstoppable. The only thing I found to be highly frustrating about the story was, after finishing the story mode in the game, going through most of the comics. Specifically, the many, many near-deaths and near-defeats they wrote up for Superman, only to have them being taken apart again, sometimes in the most ridiculous fashion - because they couldn't contradict (most of) the game and its outcome.

Yellow lantern, Hawkgirl is probably because of fear. Sinestro, Black Adam & WW agree with this superman. Raven is just a double-opp plant. Think about it, there are many ways he could have escaped the only thing he managed to do while thinking this was spelling Shazam. This was hard to assimilate the first time i watched this scene in the videogame.
If this was regular Supes before his "fall from grace" yes but this is Supes who believes he is right and has no problem with killing now, Evil Supes vs Shazam is not going to be a contest because Shazam isn't going to kill and Supes is, Supes made his decision as soon as Shazam tried to make his point about it being wrong at that point Supes decided to eliminate a potential huge ally for Batman's team

@@DamienDarksideBlog He also wins when the DC Universe's justice system (unintentionally or not) refuses to send him to the chair no matter what he's done.
@@ULTIMATZEKROM Yes and no. Yes, he wins, because he gets to go and keep going. No, because the point he's trying to prove has yet to be proven. Without breaking down the entire character, Joker's philosophy is that the concepts of "order", "laws", and "justice" are basically just bad jokes. That humans are nothing more than violent, insane beasts with delusions of self-importance, erecting feeble barriers to hide us from ourselves. He seeks to tear down those constructs and prove them to be mere illusions. If he, the ultimate embodiment of chaos is killed, he managed to get them to break the rules, proving him and his worldview correct. He ESPECIALLY wants the Batman, the ultimate paragon of order and self-control, to be the one to kill him. In Injustice, he settled for another one of the great pillars of moral order breaking to prove his point. And THAT'S why Joker won in the Injustice universe. A good counter question I thought of while I was writing this is "But if the justice system sentences him to death, wouldn't that mean he loses? After all, the system of order and laws are what killed him." Perhaps. That's another question, but ultimately irrelevant. The fact that he HASN'T been put to death by now must mean that Gotham doesn't have a death penalty. And I could be wrong here, but I feel that if Gotham reformed it's laws to allow for the Death Penalty SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE of people like Joker that it would still, ultimately, prove his point. Because the justice system of Gotham would have had to break it's previously established code in order to deal with him. Also in hindsight it's dumb that I said "without breaking down the entire character" and then proceeded to break down the entire character

DC comics has taken the golden ages best superhero and turned him into a mentally discombobulated one trick pony. Any fights he gets in he loses, the Rock Of Eternity should be off limits to everybody just like the batcave, fortress of solitude and wonder woman's island. @@legendarygrimlock4471+ Yeah, Superman got a LOT of concessions and PIS/Plot Armour in this series. There's a litany of characters who could have taken him out just on earth alone so they had to keep finding ways to get around and/or take out these characters first. Shazam I think posed so much of a problem (to the point theynuad to resort to PIS like this) because he was on side with Superman right from the start and, because of that, got a lot of screen time. This in turn showed us just how incredibly powerful Shazam really was and as you mentioned, in a couple of cases, actually appeared to be superior to Clark. So by the time it came around to having him taken out of the picture, they didn't really know what to do and had kind of written themselves into a corner. It was inevitable too because Billy, being who he is, was always too moral and too strong in his convictions (despite being more easily manipulated due to being a child) to stay loyal to Superman past a certain point so he was gonna have to go eventually. And they couldn't have him joining the rebels because 1v1 he could take out just about any other member of team Superman. With a powerhouse like that who could actually oppose Clark and stand up to him, other members of Team Supes who were discontented with his "rule" (like Aquaman who was only there due to Superman strongarming him with the threat of dumping Atlantis in the desert and not being able to stop it himself) would eventually start to side with the Insurrection and Clark would end up losing too many allies to feasibly remain dominant.

It really is something that should have given Superman pause at the VERY least. It wasn't like Billy was constantly agitating and questioning, being the Starscream who finally went too far in provoking Superman. This is the boy who always believed in Superman, always backed him up, always believed in him even when Superman's oldest friends turned on him. Even if Superman DID just off him in a moment of rage... which he really SHOULDN'T have because the scene just wasn't that charged... there should have been a moment, a pause, a skip where Superman was faced with what he had done, what he had become, and given a turning point, a chance to turn back, and made the decision to keep going. The biggest flaw in Injustice is that Superman never seems to really struggle with killing. He just dives into it with both feet before the Joker's body is even cold and never really looks back. I feel like there should have been more of an internal struggle for him to make it more believable that this IS the Clark Kent we know, just continually taking the turn down the darker path at every crossroads. Granted, the majority of my knowledge of it is from the game, where he's pretty two-dimensional even in the sequel.

What would have made more sense was if Shazam pushed Superman away, they fight, and it seems like Shazam is winning to WW jumps in, and they both hang up on Shazam, killing him. I know it’s not a perfect way for him to die, but I think it’s better than letting Superman blow holes into his eyes
SHAZAM SHOULD BEAT SUPERMAN every single time in a few minutes. My problem with this is to pretend that saying Shazam is that slow. Also since Captain Marvel was most popular than Superman until DC got the character I always find them to do Shazam dirty. By virtue of the Gods, SHAZAM is way smarter than Superman even if Billy is a child. You can blame that Billy's inmaturity takes over Solomon's intellect just how Billy's human strenght doesnt take over Hercules when he is Shazam. Superman is weak to magic... Shazam is all magic. Superman's heat vision is not faster than ZEUS' lightning which by the way is all magic. This is why in Kingdom Come a crazy Shazam makes quick work of Superman. There is no power Superman has that Shazam cant best him at. Shazam has Mercury's speed so by mythology he is faster than light. Superman was raised as a farmer so I dont think he is more brave than ACHILLES or better warrior nor braver. SHAZAM should be way more stronger than Superman because he has the strenght of both HERCULES and the one that carried the world on his shoulders... ATLAS. So HOW IN HELL in any scenario SHAZAM who knows Superman's witnesses doesnt beat Superman every single time? SHAZAM has the power of 4 gods... Superman cannot beat Zeus, Hercules, Atlas and Mercury... then throw the cobat skills of the greatest warrior, Achilles and as wise as king Solomon.

Martians are also one of the strongest telepaths in the universe, can become intangible, and have no known limits to their strength. Fire is just a phobia and in reality Martian Manhunter can withstand nuclear bombs as if they were nothing. Martians have no physical weakness.
The wizard Shazam and the gods and other beings that empowered Billy would also be pretty ticked off. That said, Superman countered Zeus (one of those gods) by tricking Highfather Izaya into getting involved, so it's possible he could counter those as well.

After all, the system of order and laws are what killed him."
Perhaps.

Yeah, Superman got a LOT of concessions and PIS/Plot Armour in this series.
Remember Billy's suit is White when transformed and about 7 years have passed since Billy was 10. He is 17 and wearing a costume. He wanted to transform when that A-hole lasered his head.

Y'know have thought about it this way. He's corrupted, idk how it's hard to believe it when he's corrupted

You want to hurt Shazam? How would you hurt Achilles?
By stabbing him in the heel.
You know, I think you might just have something there.
It's not the invulnerability. It the courage of achilles.
Now, take a look at the actual Greek mythology. Achilles was a fearless mortal general who led his troops from the front lines. He could afford to be so bold, unlike other mortals, because *nothing could hurt him.*
Achilles was granted this immunity to harm when, as an infant, his mother took him to the banks of the river Styx which separated the land of the living from the land of the dead, and dipped him in its waters from head to toe. Only his heels escaped this babtism, because that's where she held onto him. From that day on, no blade could cut him, no arrow or spear could pierce him, no fire could burn, etc, etc. Except on his heels.
When we say that kryptonite is Superman's achilles' heel, this is where that comes from.

I still call him Captain Marvel. Geoff Johns only changed his hero name because “that’s what people thought he was called”. You can’t call yourself the word that transforms you when you speak it. Plus that’s the wizard’s name anyway.
Yeah, but Shazam is a much more unique name than Captain Marvel. Not to mention that Marvel also has a character with the same name.
@MrShisuto - Shazam’s Captain Marvel first appeared in 1940. Marvel’s Captain Marvel first appeared in 1967. Plus, think about it:
1) When Billy Batson says the word “Shazam” at any point in time he transforms to and back. Making such a word your hero name is too risky if you tell people who you are.
2) The wizard is also named Shazam so there can’t be two characters with the same exact hero based name that’ll make things confusing.
3) Teth-Adam also uses the magic word Shazam to transform into Black Adam and you don’t see him calling himself Shazam.
@@STH151NicoleFan true. It’s just a shame that they couldn’t come up with some other name besides Captain Marvel. Iconic, sure. But it just doesn’t have the same impact as Shazam.
