Subscription plans are killing apps. I may not use an app that much and, even so, not mind to buy it. However, if they demand I subscribe to one of its plans, I just don’t do it and go look someplace else. Notability has never been my number one choice and I just use it as a PDF library, nothing else. If they want me to pay a subscription, well, I’ll move some place else. Also, it does not seem fair that I have to pay a subscription after I bought the app. Shame
Not fair? They are breaking the rules and Apple should step in here. All them basterds with their subscription based so called services 🤢
Subscription-based apps are a trend that has to stop. I would understand the subscription if they offered any cloud storage, but no. Big disappointment! Time for Goodnotes.

@@ACDC. no it’s cheating, when they see Notability users are disappointed they probably won’t do this. I’m trying to be as positive as possible but deep down we all know every developer wants more money. Hopefully they try asking for more by other ways rather than a subscription .
Why can't they just let previous users keep their one-time payment!? Well, if they don't, that's the end of me using Notebility...

They should let you keep the app as it is. And then start a new app with the subscription.
Or keep this app and only charge a subscription for new users.

To all the people who value their money: Do not subscribe to this app, this was a paid app and the developer out of nowhere switched to a subscription model and now wants people who already paid for the app once to keep paying them again and again. This is quite unethical on their part and it’s safe to say as people who don’t wanna regret losing their money, we should stay away from all this developer’s apps.
Ohhhhhhh my gosh. I switched from Notability back to GoodNotes5 because of the inability for more complex filing/nesting folder options.
Think that Goodnotes 5 will follow? Messed up for all those that use both Notability and Goodnotes 5 if they both move to subscription...
Hi, could you make a video on how to sync notability on your iPad to notability on your mac laptop? I tried to do it by turning on icloud syncing, and it literally deleted all my divders and disorganized my notes. I would be so grateful if you could help!
Ahh, more rental software. I understand the need for developers to make money, but I don't support the tactic of selling you a product with X features, updating, and taking those features away and hiding them behind a rental fee. That's user hostile at best. Ideally they would have forked the product into a new major version that requires a subscription. New features and updates go toward the rented copy and those who purchased the previous version are free to continue using what they paid for with the understanding that there will be no more updates to that version. Everybody wins. Ah well. Nothing I'll have to worry about, I'm ditching it completely.

Notability is a scam, if they have the audacity to dishonor the right of people who paid full price to buy the app, they will do it to whoever pays for the subscription.
I downloaded this app when it became free because I can't pay to buy it...Now it tells me everything I enter into the app is approaching usage limit and your notes will become read_only .. what is Means ?
It’s sad that they’re charging us money to still not be as good as GoodNotes. If it weren’t for audio recording notability would be nothing…

I have both GoodNotes and Notability. If GoodNotes had audio recording, it would be bye, bye, Notability! Absolutely not paying for a subscription model.

My notability says that lifetime access to all existing features and any content purchased int he app prior to the 11.0 update.
I am not using notability any more, I feel betrayed by notability.
What's another substitution for notability, cause I don't want to pay for a monthly subscription as a new user.
How do you know if you have life access to all of the features if I purchased it a very long time ago?
I am so done with all the f-ing subscription models. For the most simple apps and then tell us the costumer that it’s a service to us.

@@binnguyen986Hi! I use CollaNote and I can do that on my iPad. Tab with two fingers for undo and three fingers to redo.
How about on GoodNotes?

It seems notability has heard everyone's complaints because they mentioned giving permanent lifetime access to previously purchased content in 11.0.2.

So, Apple must have pressured Noteability, because they are giving the pre 11.0 update users the full version for life.
I’m one of the lucky ones. To be honest if the desire for iPad writing apps didn’t become so high during covid they probably wouldn’t have switched
I'm moving all my documents out of Notability to GoodNotes 5 (because it auto-updated to Notability 11). Notability keep moving the goal posts, putting basic functions into extra cost. The subscriber costs were the last straw. I'm going delete the app.
I rather pay the $9 life time subscription than this crap, good bye notability, hello good notes 5, hello CollaNotes

So you can restore purchase, don’t worry. And files are supposed to be saved on iCloud as well

As a youtuber. You keep recommending it and talking about its advantages. Don't you feel shame? It's like you buy a house ways 100 million. And the relevant department comes to you and said you will pay them 20 million per year. So you can keep this house. Otherwise, you can choose to be thrown out.
