@@darth9306 yeah it’s quite bad not as protective not scratch resistant isn’t very transparent only good thing is that it seems like paper and can be taken away easily
@@TheGreatAquiles I've been using a screen protector for the last couple of days (not long obviously) and it is so much better than writing on the glass. It is not the "Paperlike" brand. Based on using these apps for years, here's the best features imo: Notability: sync audio recording with notes Goodnotes 4: great to store pdfs of books/textbooks Goodnotes 5: if you take both typed and hand written notes this app makes it pretty easy to do both OneNote: being able to zoom out on the document (worst feature: super laggy)
I used OneNote throughout my MBA. It has both audio and video recording - at least in the PC version. I recorded video and took notes... it captured the slide deck and the interaction in the class. There is also the ability to add sections and section groups within a notebook.
onenote has notebooks -> section groups - > sections - > pages - > subpages! and it works seamlessly between my iPad, surface, and galaxy note, that's the only reason I'm using it! since it does no discrimination between operating systems
I have just bought an iPad Air and was searching for a good note taking app. I am a user of OneNote since 2013, so I am very happy discovering from your review that OneNote is better than the popular iPad apps good note and notability except of course for the lag which I believe I can manage. But hopefully, Microsoft will do something about it 😊
@@keithowu I don't have an iPad Pro, but the recording function is there in OneNote. Plus it's free so you can easily explore it on your own for any doubts that you have.
I have a point for One Note right now. Online classes make teachers go as fast as if someone would be trying to murder them, and they use slides, so I think it is super easy to take screenshots on a computer and then work with the i pad.

@@melanielopez3100 It definitely depends on preference and what subjects you take. I personally use notability more than goodnotes. Quick rough notes (+ voice recording) I suggest notability. Cleaner/more organised notes: goodnotes
Goodnotes5 has a great Outline/Table of Contents feature so that if you did want to put all your lectures in one notebook, you can split it up subject within the notebook. Also I find that Notability’s subject and divider sections as the only form of organization are really restricting as compared with GoodNotes you can have folders within folders. tmochi I think it’s more efficient on the iPad. But also it depends on what you want to study in college. If you want study something in STEM, then an iPad would be a great choice since making diagrams and stuff like that would be a hassle on paper.
tmochi honestly I’m in 10th grade and I’d rather do notes and work on iPad(for chemistry and math only) because it can be a pain in the ass having to have a million pieces of paper on stand by and having a clutter in my binder. With the iPad, one it can be organized better, 2, it’ll save paper so we don’t waste it and lastly with the way society has slowly been relying more on technology in the past ten years this is going to come in handy for me atleast
3:58 It doesn't have to be organized only by notebooks. You can import PDFs independently of a notebook and you can also make folders within folders on Goodnotes. For example, I find it useful to have course folders (ex PSY230) and then within that folder, have folders for lectures, notes, exams, etc.
Since you have good notes, may I ask you if I understand correctly? The pages in the notebook that you create are limited? You can't add pages as you like and, for example, make a notebook of 300 pages?
@@Babu12fire The notebooks don't have a maximum limit for the amount of pages but might take longer to load when transforming it into a pdf, (photos take the longest you can also change the layout of the page, but there is no good reason to have a 300 page notebook on there as they have a great folder system.
Notability is doing a lot to improve the app. I'm excited to learn about new features every time. This is why I chose Notability. It's alive. OneNote is literally dead. There's only one update per month and it's only about fixing bugs and something like that. It feels like OneNote brings only one new feature per year. I also agree that Notability has a better file organisation than Good Notes.
I wish notability had just one extra level for the notes, like it is in OneNote, then it would be perfect. Well, actually, a Windows version of the application to sync and edit notes on PC would make it perfect, but that ain't gonna happen.
if you are downloading or screen shooting a lecture, you can download/send them to goodnotes. it will ask you what file you want it to be in… if you are automatically in the notebook you are wanting to put the downloaded/screenshot ted lecture, you can set it to the specific area of that notebook.
I can say that you can look at an overview of all your pages in good notes, as well as make an outline, so you can automatically go to the page you want. I found it really helpful
I just bought an iPad yesterday after purchasing an iPhone and MacBook within the last 2 months, smh. I honestly didn't need the iPad it was more of an "I always wanted one purchase" so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. ONENOTE also has a record function, and it will highlight the notes that you took, at the time the audio was recording. Notability does not have a monopoly on that.

I think you missed one very important point: In which format(s) can I export my notes? I’ve been through it with migrating from Evernote to OneNote. But then we changed the Microsoft tenant in our company. You guess it: There’s no migration tool from Microsoft. I had to manually export each notebook to a file and import it back on the new tenant. I will not ever store my notes in a proprietary format! Never ever!
In GoodNotes, you can export to PDF. Whenever I get done with a section or entire class, I immediately backup the app to iCloud and I also export the notes to PDF just to be sure, which I also save in iCloud.
wally martinez : Noteabilitiy’s audio recording function is much more powerful. You can click on your note and the audio recording goes right to that point in the recording.
@@tommyboyindy1157 I think you mean Notability, right? OneNote does not have audio sync, and on iPad you can't record audio while writing at the same time, so pretty much useless for class.

In fact, the page break is the best feature if you want to export your note to pdf. Other note taking apps export to pdf by cutting off a long page into individual pages, and my text and pictures are brutally cut into two pages, which is annoying.

Thank you so much for your review. I have purchased GoodNotes recently and wasn't a big fan. Gonna stick with OneNote and work on organizing my notes better. I ordered a paperlike product from your link as well.
I study online so I use a new Acer 5 Aspire Slim laptop/desktop (old HP) to write papers. I just bought an iPad for notes and being on the go, so I will use One Note because of the syncing as you noted.
I recommend goodnotes. I bought both and I found that goodnotes are more stable than notability, sometimes my notes disappear in notability. I did not find such thing in goodnotes
Endless page is my nightmare in OneNote, I hate it and also missing possibility to see and work on all pages at once like you can do in Documents by Readdle. In fact, there is no app at this moment on the market that combines all good features in one. Every single app has disadvantages that make me jump from one app to the other looking for improvement , and it’s annoying 😣. But thank you for your review and nice video🌹
I actually hate the friction of writing on paper. My biggest criteria for pens is smoothness. I think I may have spent as much as an Apple Pencil on pens. That is why I got an iPad for note taking.
@@carlosruperto8705 i am currently using mostly the energel pens by pentel. Love them in 0.7 & I hv them in many colors. Cheap & good. But u know whts funny. This is such a good video! I was looking for reviews on note-taking apps because I'm going to start my summer session in a few days. I'm really glad that you kept this video short and sweet, and that you just came out with saying which app you prefer. Thank you for the insight :)
Hey Hafu! I got the iPad, best investment one could make in college, especially with what I'm getting into. Studying is so much easier and notes are fun and efficient!
i'm using notability on my ipad and one note on my mac. it is really useful. one day i'd like to try good notes too but there is no need for that in my opinion.
Hey Hafu, I am about to enter college later this year and all your videos have been very helpful not only regarding college but also plenty of other things in life! I do have a macular degneration disease causing me to lose my sharp vision in the center of my eye. This kinda gives me a hard time to choose how I should take my notes, basically what I am worried about is that I have to write very big if I was going to use a tablet. Do these apps provide enough space next to the current page so you can add as much information as you want? I know you can't really imagine what my situation is like without more detail but maybe you know something helpful :) its worth a shot. And I really appreciate your videos, I usually never updated videos on RUclips or getting involved in comments but I am gonna start doing that.
Hey! I’m not sure about good notes or notability, but I know whenever you write with one-note the page just keeps “expanding”. Almost like you can make it however long or wide you want. I hope this helps!
One Note also has an audio recording option. It does not add your notes that you drew as the recording plays but you can add the recording to the notes.
Perfect timing for me! Just got an ipad so needed a good note taking app to help and also needed a screen protector. Thank you for the good informative video
Am I the only one that likes that fact the good notes has pages that like cuts off like real papers? Like i would know it will cut off at that certain point and can figure out what to do so when I print my notes to study I won’t just have random letters cut off at the bottom of the page 😅
the viedo i despertatily needed like yeah , i hell confused cause no one compared thr three . i am very grateful .thnaks from bottom of my heart . btw i am also biased toward one note but no body was comparing alll three so yeh i am one note won .
I’ve been using OneNote for years and satisfied with its performance. But there’s one con is the storage not enough for u to save and keep audio or lecture video.
Nice and helpful video 💪 and by the way u are learning exactly the same about Siegmund Freud what I m learning right now in class 12th in Germany what a coincidence
OneNote has had the audio record function for quite some time. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm looking at the icon right now on OneNote. It does have the lag you talked about. Good review. Thank you.
Why did you not talk about the iPhone and Mac apps for Notability and GoodNotes? Both have the same pc synchronization function as onenote but you didn’t mention them at all.

Sorry for the delay in my post. OneNote also has audio and video recording capabilities. Your review was informative thank you.
wally martinez : Noteabilitiy’s audio recording function is much more powerful. You can click on your note and the audio recording goes right to that point in the recording.
@@tommyboyindy1157 I think you mean Notability, right? OneNote does not have audio sync, and on iPad you can't record audio while writing at the same time, so pretty much useless for class.
Bruno Amaral : you are right. I corrected the post.
I received ipad pro as a graduation gift but couldn’t afford magic keyboard and paperlike lol. Thank you for honest reviews. At least i can still take notes by writing😊.
Regards the screen protector do some research there’s others out there that might be just as good if not better. I got mine off Amazon way cheaper. And magic keyboard is super cool but not really necessary.
Thank you very much for this review!
You're very clear, organized and super cool 🤩
I'll be staying with my OneNote Just for the sync feature that means SO MUCH
Came here to see what’s worth to try for Senior and finally got my answer thank you so much for this! 100% helpful i just got my ipad and i’ve been looking for a good note taking app thanksss
What did you decide on?
Thank you for the FYI i was about to buy good notes 5.
What did u choose instead?
You are amazing because every video you make is full of love, vigor, positivity, and success. I wish for you all the best, your friend from Lebanon 🇱🇧❤️🇱🇧
Mannn I’m glad that you can feel that because that exactly what I’m try to put out into the world, love, passion, and success
Love your video man, keep up the good work. Something about you that I just love lol
You can record with goodnotes as well
In fact, the page break is the best feature if you want to export your note to pdf. Other note taking apps export to pdf by cutting off a long page into individual pages, and my text and pictures are brutally cut into two pages, which is annoying.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I was exactly searching for which app has simultaneousness (tough word)
Thanks so much just bought an iPad air and want to use it for studying ☺️
congratulations on reaching your goal of 100k subs
Literally the video I was looking for. As a professional this is the direct breakdown I needed. Hope your channels continues to grow. About to binge it al
Thank you so much for your review. I have purchased GoodNotes recently and wasn't a big fan. Gonna stick with OneNote and work on organizing my notes better. I ordered a paperlike product from your link as well.
This is exactly the 3 I was comparing. Thank you for this review!
I use OneNote since 3 years at school. I think its really cool. I had no problems with writtinglags on my Surfacebook.
Yeah it’s good but writing experience isn’t as smooth
Awesome bro this video really helped me to select an app
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us
I study online so I use a new Acer 5 Aspire Slim laptop/desktop (old HP) to write papers. I just bought an iPad for notes and being on the go, so I will use One Note because of the syncing as you noted.
Love the Kandinsky print in the back
Great video!! Really narrowed down which app I wanted to get and it looks like I’m going with one note 😸
"the reason why goodnotes doesnt have lag, is because it doesnt have lag"
I recommend goodnotes. I bought both and I found that goodnotes are more stable than notability, sometimes my notes disappear in notability. I did not find such thing in goodnotes
😳😳 sold on good notes after seeing this comment
My notes disappeared in OneNote and would not backup.
makes me keen for my ipad to arrive !
Delivery will take at least 3 weeks and i cant wait anymore
M. D. HAHAH MINES BEEN ONE MONTH BUT it’s coming in 2-3 days so 😅😫😫😫
@@cinsday stay strong we'll be taking notes not on paper really soon!
@@borngymrat HAHAHA right?! keen!
Same!
me also studying using my ipad for talking a note and for multitasking and web browsing is really great
Endless page is my nightmare in OneNote, I hate it and also missing possibility to see and work on all pages at once like you can do in Documents by Readdle. In fact, there is no app at this moment on the market that combines all good features in one. Every single app has disadvantages that make me jump from one app to the other looking for improvement , and it’s annoying 😣. But thank you for your review and nice video🌹
You can edit page sizes in onenote at least that is what i do i kind of need to print my notes for school
Best comparison ever.
Great video hafu thanks for sharing these apps with us writing this with my Apple Pencil on my paperlike screen protector:)
Hi from Lebanon 🇱🇧❤️🇱🇧
Actually, all the lectures can fit within a notebook on goodnotes. No need to make a notebook for each lecture. That doesn’t really make sense lol
and u can also make one notebook per major topic / unit, it's not so messy as he made it be, onenote organization irritates me jsjaja
@@ag-qj3zu what?? one note has awesome organization you can nest everything
@@huey1153 idk, I just don't like subdivisions, is too much for me jsjaj
@@ag-qj3zu yea I’m not a fan
Onenote has the audio recording feature... at least in Android and Windows version is available.
Thankyou dawg this helped. One note for the win indeed
I actually hate the friction of writing on paper. My biggest criteria for pens is smoothness. I think I may have spent as much as an Apple Pencil on pens. That is why I got an iPad for note taking.
I have spent as much as an iPad Pro with 1TB on a pen, I know what you mean about the friction...
@@carlosruperto8705 hahah me tooo. The queen of pens. Almost every time i go out i seek the new "perfect" pen 🤣
@@SheriDin What have you found to be your perfect pen so far?
@@carlosruperto8705 i am currently using mostly the energel pens by pentel. Love them in 0.7 & I hv them in many colors. Cheap & good. But u know whts funny. I always like the cheapo looking ballpens at hotel check in counters. Always so smooth! 😅 btw I was gifted a Mont Blanc pen which i hate to use... 😆
Aa far as tablet pens, this is my first time with the ipad pro pencil.
@@SheriDin oh haha why do you hate using it? I mostly only use Montblanc fountain pens for everything! ☺
Yea. My grades have went up since going digital. Sounds weird but i actually enjoy taking notes on my surface and ipad
i'm using notability on my ipad and one note on my mac. it is really useful. one day i'd like to try good notes too but there is no need for that in my opinion.
Hey Hafu,
I am about to enter college later this year and all your videos have been very helpful not only regarding college but also plenty of other things in life!
We're Go Gang !!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes we are!!
Hafu Go continue you are amazing 🇱🇧❤️🇱🇧
You are amazing for always commenting for the RUclips algorithm ;)
The confidence in the "were the most dedicated and hard working " I love this Bro!
One Note also has an audio recording option. It does not add your notes that you drew as the recording plays but you can add the recording to the notes.
3:12 gooooood your voice sounds just like David Schwimmers (Ross from Friends) im shocked😂❤️
OMG YEAHH!!!
Thankyou so much I was just searching a app for taking my notes❤️😇
Perfect timing for me! Just got an ipad so needed a good note taking app to help and also needed a screen protector. Thank you for the good informative video
HAFU WHY R U SO INSPIRATIONAL OMG!!!
hahah were you inspired by this iPad video?
@@hafu dudeeee all ur videos wdymmm fam lmaooo all of them bruh!! all love from an ucla bruin man!!
Am I the only one that likes that fact the good notes has pages that like cuts off like real papers? Like i would know it will cut off at that certain point and can figure out what to do so when I print my notes to study I won’t just have random letters cut off at the bottom of the page 😅
Omg psychology 6:15 best class ever thank you for this video
Him: I’m going to pick two winners
Me: So then you are only picking a loser 🧐
While I'm watching u r already in 100k subs
🔥 Keep going
the viedo i despertatily needed like yeah , i hell confused cause no one compared thr three . i am very grateful .thnaks from bottom of my heart . btw i am also biased toward one note but no body was comparing alll three so yeh i am one note won .
Most colleges and classes have rules in the syllabus that make it against the rules to record the class cuz it’s “intellectual property”
This was super useful!
I’ve been using OneNote for years and satisfied with its performance. But there’s one con is the storage not enough for u to save and keep audio or lecture video.
Excellent video. Side note - where did you get that shirt?
Nice and helpful video 💪 and by the way u are learning exactly the same about Siegmund Freud what I m learning right now in class 12th in Germany what a coincidence
Onenote also has the audio record function
OneNote has had the audio record function for quite some time. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm looking at the icon right now on OneNote. It does have the lag you talked about. Good review. Thank you.
The one I have is GoodNotes! I’m not taking classes though. I use it as a planner, journal, budget.
Why did you not talk about the iPhone and Mac apps for Notability and GoodNotes? Both have the same pc synchronization function as onenote but you didn’t mention them at all.
1 year later, writing experience with One note is on par with the other 2.
