hey can we get some more videos of this, onboard, drone and different cruising rpm. beautiful work btw clean clean catted setup, thinking about doing this exact setup on my dsg so would love to hear cruising around at low rpm (1800-2500 as well as 2k-3k mild and moderate accel) keep up the content thanks!!!
So you got the cats down bellow what did you do with th O2 senzor and does the highflow cats pass emision test i know they do if they are at optimal heat thanks and keep up the good work
Great video, where are you guys located? I would love to have my exhaust done but you guys once I get the car you seem so knowledgeable about the exhaust in general and the fail points. I would like to do it right the first time and have the car performance best have great sound without interior drone
I wanted to put Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators just past my gutted cats but your guy said the flex wouldn't support that weight (5 lbs each). Do you know if it would be possible to install them up there with any kind of extra support/braces so they won't pull apart the flex? Seen or think of anything like that?
I have a 2016 SQ5. I was running stock headers, Redstar Cats, stock downpipes and AWE Touring Catback. The exhaust note was a 10/10. Perfect. But for fear of melting the cats at Stage 2+, I opted for Redstar long tube headers instead of just test pipes which replaces the stock headers and cat pipes. Now I’m trying to find the perfect balance in exhaust note. I tried IE downpipes with cats and mini resonators welded in paired with my AWE touring and the rasp and drone were too much. So I swapped back on my stock downpipe and welded cats into those but it’s too smooth and higher pitch than with the stock headers and Redstar cats. I’m torn with trying your downpipe setup or Vibrant Ultra-Quiet resonators and cats. How do the HP-2’s compare to the Ultra-Quiets?
First, sound awesome! Next...Emissions question - if you have test pipes - how are you avoiding CEL (besides disabling lambda senors) to pass state inspection? (DP, stock cats in Massachusetts - worry cats will go eventually … )
@@BlacklistBuilds Many thanks... IF\when cats go - I'm going to try a setup like this one - high flow cats further down stream to avoid the issue again just emissions are the only worry.
Still can’t decide between the manual and the dsg, I want a manual cause of him much more engaging it is bet I want the dsg for how absurd the 0-60 is. How do you like ur manual and what 0-60 times are u pulling?
Besides a spirted drive once in a while, I don't care so much for 0-60 or racing in general. However, I still haven't sold the car even after 12 years because of the manual experience.
@@BlacklistBuilds I'm on the magnaflow as well. did you see what happened when it blew out? Did the sound change dramatically? any negative impact to continue running it?
@@BlacklistBuilds Thanks so much man. I am following the exact same route. I'll point people to your video if they ever ask. I have a resonated Milltek exhaust on my SQ5 (ultra charged, test-piped...you know the schlep) and it blows the packing glass out of BOTH mufflers and does nothing to prevent the insane rasp that the testpipes introduce. This setup that you've come across, I believe is THE way to go. Kudos dude!
Yeah I have CTS Turbo Test Pipes on my B8. However, what I'm saying here is that a Test Pipe is not the same as aftermarket cats and this video targets the perfect build for test pipes, when your car doesn't have test pipes.@@BlacklistBuilds
Ignore my dumb ass man. I think I only heard your comment at 1:45. Where you say "you were running catless before and you wanted die" so I figured you weren't using test pipes anymore. I'm in the same boat as you, but just test pipes and oem rear mufflers basically. Quiet as but raspy af, I don't mind it too much as it just sounds like all motor / supercharger whine.@@BlacklistBuilds
I love this because you're not over powering the supercharter whine..... 🙌
I personally like the magnaflow x pipe sound more but this is pretty good too
That is a lot of work and parts and money. I went with Scorpion exhaust for my B8.5. The perfect semi-deep tone sound. Could not be happier with it.
Once you remove the stock cats for dual pulley it's hard to tune the sound.

That is a sweet sound, wish that shop was closer, I rob a bank and put him to work!!
What is the price breakdown on an exhaust system like this?
Hell yeah! Sounds awesome

Kyle, trying to find you for some work, where in NJ are you😵💫

Awesome video 🔥 looking forward to more updates on the S4!
First, sound awesome! Next...Emissions question - if you have test pipes - how are you avoiding CEL (besides disabling lambda senors) to pass state inspection? (DP, stock cats in Massachusetts - worry cats will go eventually … )
Hypothetically you could use vibrant 02 sensor spacers without touching the ecu programming.

Great bit of kit nicely setup!

What time are you running? I have the 034 tune and will be doing this setup. Looking for advise on avoiding any CEL
Sounds great 👍
Wow. Sweet. Sounds like a GTR.
Hey there, you didn’t mention anything about the flex piping he added, looks like you replaced the stock downpipe flex piping?
Correct. I don't remember which flex pipes (brand) he used. The down pipes are completely custom.
@@BlacklistBuildslet us know if u remember which brand or part number
need this exact downpipe setup
So good
Are those gesi g sports the epa compliant or the non epa?
What type of cats did you use and where can they be purchased?
What if i just install the test pipe (red star) and stock cat..will the sound acceptable haha
i didn't do my motor mounts and ended up completely splitting both of my redstart high flow cats
Im in pa, pocono area
Where is this shop located?
why ditched the magnaflow one? Would you happen to have a sound comparaison with the awe resos downpipes?
The insulation inside the magnaflow blew out after a few thousand miles
@@BlacklistBuilds I'm on the magnaflow as well. did you see what happened when it blew out? Did the sound change dramatically? any negative impact to continue running it?
Nice setup, where did you get your mopar exhaust dampers?
I bought them years ago. Unfortunately it looks like the retailer no longer carries it 😕
Do the high flow cats even help with the sound or is it more for the smell?
They reduce the sound to an extent but their primary purpose is to reduce the smell
@@BlacklistBuilds appreciate the reply! And thanks!
So you put test pipes and cats? Isnt that a little redundant? Sounds just like my s4 with non resonated awe touring.
No. Having cats closer to the headers burn them out when you're tuned. Having hfc downstream prevents that from happening
@@BlacklistBuilds Could you not find a tuner that would tune them out?
can i anyone give me the best exhaust setup with no rasp with test pipes?
same i have stock exhaust i think ill just delete my center resonators replace with cats
@@KingKhan-ez3gg i heard to cancell the rasp you need to get ultra quiet res and x or H pipes
@@samiwsp2537 nawh there's people with resonators and still it's raspy. I'ma add cats
@@KingKhan-ez3gg i saw this guys setup and it sounds great with no rasp
Does single pulley and tune eventually melt the cats as well??
Yes. The cats are known to melt even on completely stock 3.0t cars
So what would be wrong with awe track exhaust with test pipes an high flow cats ?
It would be raspy AF and way too loud with track exhaust. But hey, live once. Go for it
@@blade643 man I been waiting to do it but you know that good ol b8 trans had to take a shit on me 😭😭 down 4 months

Does this eliminate the raw fuel smell that comes out of the exhaust after fitting test pipes ?
With hfc yes it does

How’s it holdin up so far? I’m interested in doing the same setup on mine.
It's holding up perfectly
It sounds good but I wish you could hear mine
Thanks. Upload a vid to compare.
Finally a manual ! It’s always the auto ! I know auto is fast but boring for me my 2 cents
sounds a little quiter? great setup man ! why didnt you just want to buy the jhm testpipes and downpipes?
I didn't like the sound of that setup. This is more refined
@@BlacklistBuilds nice, so torn between awe and borla!! seems like borla may be best for testpipes
These are performance cats but the video says this is for test-pipes? Same thing,?!?! I don't think they should be comparable.
You can buy test pipes, which replace the stock cats. My aftermarket cats are built into the downpipes. Hopefully, that helps.

I threw the HP-2’s on my A7… they really take the rasp out…HOWEVER…if you’re pushing stage 2+…they can’t handle the power and blew up 😂…
