I've watched a number of these videos. If the players would pass the ball instead of trying to dribble 3/4 the fouls would never happen. Let the ball do the work for you.

What do you mean? A few of the tackles could have been a freekick, but he is just playing hard physically - in my eyes doesn't really do anything wrong, allthough he goes in tackles hard to show he's there. Why they keep playing high balls in his area is beyond me, white team should just realize he's dominating them physically and play around him instead :-).

I don't see it, white keeper dove made the most of the incident in the box, then there was the white team saying it was a foul for their player to bring his foot high while red 4 takes the ball on the chest, if anything he should have claimed for a foul for high foot. Aside from a clear barge in the back I haven't seen why he should have been given a red card at all.

The sad thing is that these are reasonably skilled teams for recreation league soccer. They don’t have to get so shitty about fouls in these games.

1:20 attacker on his own side of midfield when the ball is played
6:37 ball is still squarely on the sideline, but is called out of play
20:24 foul occurred 3 meters inside the penalty area
1:20 if you are able to freeze the play at the point of contact (sound of contact) the players shoulder is past the midfield and defending line. Offside by inches. Do I think that is how he made the call. No chance in hell. He guessed and got lucky.
6:37 and 20:24 you are 100% correct. Awful calls. Lines judges are terrible in our area. Just awful.

Even with the huge mistake at the end the white GK was the MVP of the game. He made up for it with at least 3 amazing saves

I am denying full responsibility on the goalie. I said "he didn't cost them the game" in the previous comment and I'll say it again. I think the lack of goals "cost them the win" (versus saying "game" which makes it sound like they lost). That to me is the larger reason why it ended in a tie. While some blame obviously has to be placed on the goalie this is a team sport. In your arguments you appear to ignore/forgot that if someone else had been in goal the game probably would have ended in loss for Srbija. Now I would argue the bar is set low because no one else did that well. (other than the Srbija goal scorer). I think you could replace any player (except the Srbija goalie) on the field and the game still ends in a tie. If you replace the Srbija goalie for the whole game they lose. That is why I say MVP. You assume there is a replacement goalie on the team, which is unlikely for these adult league.
Really? he looked insanely lucky at least as many times. For every great save he had a goof and was flat out lucky they didn't put few more past him.
- I don't think we won a single ball when he left his line. He couldn't win them at all and one time the only reason it wasn't a goal was because the red team skied it 6' from the net.
- he couldnt catch worth anything. It was always a parry and not even necessarily to a safe space. Genuinely surprised no one cleaned up the slop on him.
- his punches were literal punches with no control. He nearly socket his own teammate in the face.
He had moments ... but they were both extremes

Ok, this one was bizarre: at 18:05 the referee plays advantage when the red player is kicked by the white defender. Play continues toward the penalty area, red gets a clean shot which is saved and controlled by the goalkeeper. The referee looks around for a bit, blow the whistle, and proceeds to caution the white player and bring the ball all the way back for a red free kick.
To the referee:
What you did right: 18:08 you give a beautiful PLAY-ON sweep with both arms, indicating advantage is being played. Perfect, correct decision.
What was wrong: Once advantage has indeed materialized, then you let play continue! If a caution is warranted (no problem with that decision), then wait until the next stoppage of play, and show the yellow card, pointing to the area of the original infraction to make it clear what the caution is for. But what you definitely do not do is give the attackers advantage (which materializes), and at the next change of possession stop play, call everything back, and give them the ball again via a free kick.
the ref was pretty worthless in my opinion, poor calls through out.

While I agree with most of what Samuel P wrote, my guess about what happened is this: the ref knew that he wanted to give a card to the player in white. He thought that while the goalie had the ball was a good time to do this. (This is wrong, but that's what I think he was thinking.) Then he realized why one doesn't do this: because how are you going to restart play? So, that's when he decided that it was an extended version of advantage (which should have ended at or before the shot was taken). He hadn't decided this before; both his actions and body-language tells me that he hadn't thought this through and wasn't originally planning to call it a free kick from lost advantage. He just used this idea to resolve the problem THAT HE CAUSED when he halted the game with the ball in play.
In any event, this was only one of a huge number of errors made by this ref.

4:01 those things makes you lose control. Not giving a card that every single person on the field expects. You will lose authority. 16:42 is a crystal clear yellow card for delaying the restart. 20:30 is just a joke. Clear penalty and clearly inside.
Some teams take dives and cry all the time, some teams play dirty. These teams do both, and that's a tough combination to ref.

The issue there wasn’t about the assistant not knowing the laws of the game. The issue was his perception and ability to focus. At 2:37 he makes a very good onside decision.
@@vika0194 Agree - at 22:45 you can see he doesn't even make it to the top of the goal area (6 yards) when the ball is fumbled by the goalie into the net. Lucky that the referee saw things clearly, the AR would have had a tough time selling that he saw it over the line when he was nowhere near the goal line. Needs to work on reactions and movement, as well as focus.
Samuel Pearlman As I am saying. His issue is his focus and ability to make calls. The fact that he doesn’t even know where to position himself or that he has to raise his flag at that goal is even worse.

No dives from the goalie, tbh... first one is a clear foul, the goalie is not allowed to be attacked or even blocked in the 5m-box. and on the second one, the red player cleraly blocked him, too.

these 2 teams must be the most mature playesr to ever play this game. despite some silly stuff and bad decisions going against them, they never did anything beyond vent some frustration, never disrespectul towards either the referee or their opponents. Kudos to them.

It was very close, but it appears that the first goal was offside. The assistant was useless when asked where the foul happened and it was well within the Penalty Area, but they went with a free kick. Bad on both guys.
Nah, looks marginally onside. Remember the perspective of the camera. Either way, it's close enough that even top level officials will have trouble with that.

How that ended as a tie...man, Serbia again with the sheer luck. Got outplayed for 90+ minutes and it wasn't even close. Foul clearly in the box by about 5 yards, linesman (who already helped out Serbia earlier) helped out Serbia again by saying the foul occurred outside the box. Uhhh... Sweet, sweet justice for the goal to happen like it did against Serbia's crybaby keeper.

Common theme in this league: Refs need to give out cards for "reckless, careless" tackles. Otherwise the offender gets an advantage PLUS you turn the game into physical garbage which it looks like is happening. Make the game more skill based and card out the bad play.

Yeah...the Serbian team did a lot of this too (#22, #3, #12)...it is expected from that team as well. #4 played the important enforcer role as a CB and played it well. Both teams were coming in very late and going for bodies more than the ball. This ref has always had a tendency to keep his cards in his pockets and I KNOW he knew this game was going to be exactly like it was...especially if Serbia can get a quick lucky goal & then just park the bus, time waste, and whine about every little thing on the planet. It's their mission objective in every game.
