    I took the passenger front seat and the toolbox out and had no problems getting the battery out and reinstalling it. The bolt was a 14 mm. I have two CF moto 1000 and both batteries went bad in about two years.

      that's good. I was really trying to avoid having to take much off to get to it. :)

    hello, thank you for all the explanations! I followed your tutorial scrupulously and everything went well. then a little by chance I removed the toolbox under the passenger seat and miraculously (too late) access to the battery nuts is super easy via this hole under the passenger seat! lol hope this helps the next ones

    Always remove the negative cable first on any vehicle. This makes the positive cable dead so you don't arc wrenches etc. to body ground.

      Wow! Was always told exact opposite! no kidding. it does make total sense! And thx for the message and the sub, would for sure like a deeper explanation or a link to this mind blower for me! lol Very interesting!! 🤔🤔

    So I watched your video about the battery and felt like there had to be a simpler way and I found it. Lift the passenger seat up and remove the storage box and you have access to the bolts on the battery bracket. from the bottom. You don’t have to remove the cotter pin and go in from the top.

    Always undo the earth battery lead first. Just in case your screwdriver/spanner touches something metal. It is obvious once it is thought about.

    You never put your ground on first because you ground the machine for dangerous contact when putting the positive back on

    • @SimplyNewEngland
      @SimplyNewEngland  Год назад

      Different schools of thought on that one. I was always taught that by connecting the ground first, you establish a reference point for electrical potential and provide a path for excess current to safely dissipate in the event of a fault.

    I've been there before. I always have my little jumper box with me now. I fits perfectly in between the seats of your 950. On top of the old air box. Bungee cords not included with jumper box. Lol.

    This is the most ridiculous lack of thinking from the designers.... You should be able to do it right from the top where the plate bolts to the verticals. Thanks for the info though!

    Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, lift up the passenger seat and you can access everything just fine..

    You drove back on the original battery, so why did you think the battery was bad? Did you get it charged and load tested before replacing it?

    • @SimplyNewEngland
      @SimplyNewEngland  3 года назад

      So it was odd, we jump started it with the jeep, and ot drove home fine. once I turned it off , dead as can be. It was not charging. I did take it out and I did bring it to the dealer. he tested it, and sure enough, dead! so they replaced it. if you go into the chanel thr follow up video will explain more. just posted it today :) Thx for the question and thank you for being a subscriber!! Extremely appreciated! :)

      In this case I did not foolishly. lol but when I got it back home, I did test the battery with a multimeter, it was dead as dead could be. Had to replace it. I have a part two to this video if you missed it. :)

    I need a video explaining why the batteries keep crapping out. Had barley a year and going through my 2nd bad battery experience. Tired of being stranded in the woods. Avoiding the long hikes was the whole reason for buying the stupid thing 😆🤣

      oh no! my advice. get a 25 dollar battery tender and keep it hooked up when ot using. super easy to do and after I did thst I had no more issues. either that or pay the extra to get same battery in high end brand. but honestly. the tender has worked fantastically!

      @@SimplyNewEngland enjoyed the video, thanks also for the reply!
      Just found your page today. How long have you had the machine?
      I am in the market for an SxS and watching every video I can find.
      CFM seems to be very popular and has a strong following, so I am looking at them real hard. Just trying to be an informed consumer. Leaning toward the UF1000.
      Unfortunately there are none to be had in the region.

      @@Delmarksman First had the u1000, absolutely loved the work aspect of it. It was a beast! found over time I wanted something sportier as I hooked up with other riders. Only reason I traded it in for the zforce 950. I stayed with cfmoto. then over the summer I purchased antoher moto 800 xc 4 wheeler. absolutely love it. like any brand, pros and cons. CFMOTO is not Chinese crap like those machines you can buy online for 3000.00 with 0 quality control. CFMOTO's are mass produced under quality control with standards. They now have a large corporate presence in the US. the price point is unbeatable for the all the extras they give you. As they retool and fix issues customers point out, the price is slowly rising. that is to be expected.

    • @Delmarksman
      @Delmarksman 2 года назад +1

      @@SimplyNewEngland Thanks again for the reply. Watched a bunch of your videos and just reading through the comments last night. I can understand why you traded in. Your comment above and elsewhere mirror my experience when I bought my first Harley. Started with a Sportster, I grew out of it very quickly and traded up, wanting to ride with friends etc.
      Unfortunately, I took a big hit on the trade in, and hope that you didn't. I just really don't want to end up in that situation again.
      There are no trails nearby, DE has no off road areas or parks. That said, it is in my mind that I can travel a bit.
      So here is my general thoughts (mental battle) on the U1000 vs the Z950, the main intent/use in mind is tree work, dragging branches and pulling, and snow plowing. It looks like the Z really isn't designed for that; mostly trail and off road use and not any sort of work in mind.
      I definitely see that the Z has a better suspension and seating position (better seats) than the U1000 bench. But don't know if I'll ever find myself running trails for hours at a time. But as you noted elsewhere, I too have a cart for moving lumber.
      Is the Z capable of doing light work? I've seen a few video's of people plowing with their Z800's.
