Great presentation on on coolant radiator change , I have a 2010 Shelby GT 500 SVT convertible 5.4 , I have wasn't sure on how to drain the system with flush and antifreeze to use and to use use a 50-50 mix with distilled water, when I purchased this car, I didn't take in the the account that this is not an ordinary maintenance car, SVT stands for Special Vehicle Team , who made the car , Mr. Carol Shelby
I hope to see more videos of this car not just the 2020 Shelby Gt 500 as great it is, I don’t know if I love this car more than your 2020 Shelby GT500, it’s just stunning and beautiful!!! The sound is remarkable! I would drive this 2011 Shelby every day of my life (except not in New York winter/salty roads ) but very poor so just get to live it through your life and videos, truly thank you!!!
Hey man the car looks great!I love the color and in the future is really like to add a 2012 supersnake in koni blue.Lol on a funny note so how many offers have you had on your teal green 93 cobra. The prices are just one fire but I doubt I will ever sell my 93.Also the Terminators are not far behind the 93s.
I wrote you a very positive and long Deep great comment about your video and I'm so friggin over tired and under so much pressure lately and also have a 2011 Shelby Gt 500 or what ever you call it and I wrote the comment ant it went somewhere else I can't believe it I'm so sorry .zI will send another one when I'm not ready to drop and in a ton of pain but it was basically on how you were right to the point and calmingly explaining it in depth and you have a very calming voice but professional and so positive and cool . Thanks for all this and God Bless you and this is my first time seeing one of you video,s and I will be subscribing you .yeah!!
Thanks Chris! That means a lot. Sorry about the struggles. Nothing a little WOT boost run can’t fix… enjoy the car! They make us smile. On another note, I run www.FordGT500.com as Goose17. Stop in and say hi!
Excellent video, really appreciate it and the time you took to do it. I have a 2015 GT with a Roush Stage 2 charger on it. I need to flush both sides as well. I am assuming the basic procedure is the same? Thanks again.
Goose! I said, I know that garage, I know that car, I know that guy! I had the Ford shop do the flush and fill last time. was thinking about doing it myself . What I dont like is, I can buy the new antifreeze but no one who sells it takes the old. So I would need to wait to go to a Household Haz. waste day. Great tutorial thnx! Paul Pstone9500
PS sir are those white lettering tires or did you just figure out a way that they would stay on with letters! Thank you again for the best information Channel!!
Thanks Jarrod! I wanted the floor to look like water. I hired a guy that used blue metallic epoxy over a black primer with silver mixed in for “waves.” It has a gloss top coat over it all.
Beautiful car! When you have the metal reservoirs, how do you see the level? Is there a little gauge? Thinking 🤔 of exchanging orange 🍊 for yellow in my Ecoboost 😊
Good video! My 2014 only has 22,500 miles and the coolant is original but looks new. Do you think it will still be good for a while or do I need to change it.
i would have ran the water twice through the engine,,maybe not necessary but for my own piece of mind i would have since i would have it on the lift anyway but thats just me being picky.
QQ... isn't the coolant capacity 5.3gals for the 10-14 GT500? Seems like there is more trapped in the block and you would best be served using a vacuum style coolant extractor to get a full coolant swap. Great video as usual.
It seems I’m locked out of track n sport exhaust for some reason…. There is a +next to each on the clutter when I have it displayed, like I need to add it or something. Thanks! A little history lesson… if you are referring to my red fender stripes as “Dodge stripes,” those have origins with the AC Shelby Cobra. In the early days of Cobra racing (60s), the cars were all painted alike and it was hard for the pit crews to differentiate which car was coming into the pits. They developed “pit stripes” for the Cobras… different color hash marks to ID the cars. Corvette Grand Sport and Dodge commandeered the stripes. Origins are Shelby though. I added them to my GT500 to tie in with all the red accents.

Good stuff, Tim. 👍 Good preventative maintenance. I agree with the added step of distilled water - good peace of mind to get any remaining crud out.

Thanks! It’s a wild beast. The suspension/handling is very basic for the power this thing has. It’s a fun car though!
Interesting basic stuff, fun to watch. Your older GT500 in damn good shape.
Love watching your videos ! They are always informative.

Just to clarify, we use the new yellow for both systems, right?
@@johngeorge5624 Yes, yellow replaced the older colors. I just had some leftover orange that I used.

Hello Paul! Thank you sir! 🍻
Great video I have a 2012 gt500 question how many gallons to completely full the radiator and also the heat exchanger?
Thanks Raymond! I believe the capacities are in the owner’s manual, but it takes less to do this swap as some stays trapped.
PS sir are those white lettering tires or did you just figure out a way that they would stay on with letters! Thank you again for the best information Channel!!
Appreciate it Chris! I added the letters from Tredwear.com
Love your videos! What product did you use on your floor? Beautiful blue! Would love to see more of the 93 Cobra, partial to it!

@@ShelbyFlyer Not sure I could duplicate that, but wow! Looks amazing. Appreciate the reply!
Great video sir...thanks for sharing. Say, do you think this would work, more or less, the same for a 2012 Boss 302?
Appreciate it! Your Boss will be very similar, just minus the intercooler system.
Nice video. From where can i get these Coolant tanks?
Got them years ago. Not sure who still sells them. Check Revan Racing and Shelby American stores.
Beautiful car!

@@michaelc.1588 Thanks! I have no coolant leaks, so no need to be constantly checking the level. I open the lids once in awhile to check.
Good video! My 2014 only has 22,500 miles and the coolant is original but looks new. Do you think it will still be good for a while or do I need to change it.
Not a bad idea to change it. I do have older cars that haven’t gotten a change yet though.

I looked up the capacity at the time, which I don’t recall now. I don’t believe it was that high.
I think around 3 gallons it takes to fill back up
@@ShelbyFlyer My 5.8 coolant capacity is 21.1 quarts. So if you want 50/50 mix it would need about 2.5 gallon of concentrated.
would this work on a 13gt 5.0 as well ?
@@pelonpelonete6476 Yes, you just have the one system though. Should be about the same minus the intercooler system.

@@ShelbyFlyer ok thanks so much Tim
I thought that with preston’s you have to drain the coolant and use water?…..
You are correct. I’d definitely do that if the coolant system is really dirty.
Nice car, but the Dodge racing stripes I’m not a fan of, Doing this coolant change to my 2015 Roush stage 3 this weekend
