    Glad you were able to get it figured out! Being a Ford tech myself, random wiring gremlins can make you pull your hair out, let alone intermittent issues.

    Nice video. I'm sure that it will help some other people with the same issue.
    One point of clarification. For air fuel ratios, a higher number is leaner, not richer. So when you see the gauge going up to 20, that is full lean, not full rich. This makes perfect sense for a misfire from a bad coil wire, because if there is no spark to light the fuel then the exhaust will be full of unburned oxygen which the oxygen sensor will report as lean. Also, to protect the catalysts for warranty the PCM will reduce power and lean the fuel when it detects a misfire to protect the cats from having raw fuel light off inside the cat and melt it.

    We use to have wiring problem like this all the time on the aircraft and be chasing them for days. I'm glad they finally found the problem and got you back on the track.

    Very frustrating trying to locate and diagnose electrical gremlins, especially when sensitive computers are also involved .... sure glad your technician got it figured out. Also glad to learn about "chloroplast" tape .. something we all need to keep in our tool boxes. Thanks again Tim for a great video that will probably be helpful to many owners.

    I can say that intermittent issues can cause you to lose your mind trying to find them. Unfortunately, patience from people with the issues is rarely found. Wiring/pin issues have to be traced out. Having Carey do the work is a smart move, as I worked with him. He knows where to look and I trust him totally when it comes to my own car. If I need him, I know where to find him.

    Thats not showing full rich, 20 is full lean. Or 2.00. Thats just what happens when you let off the gas. The car will go full lean so it doesnt backfire and pop as the revs come down. You really need to get an HP Tuners setup so you can log the car in real time. The dealers are just parts swappers. Get an MPVI3 from Hp Tuners and get VCM scanner and a laptop. Then you will really know whats going on. Not this dealer guess and swap thing they do.

    • @ShelbyFlyer
      @ShelbyFlyer  2 месяца назад +1

      @@johnandrews9620 A daily driver could have these problems. Track use accelerated it I’m sure. As for the powertrain warranty, some items are and are not covered. For instance the coils and plugs were at my expense.
