I woulda been throwing the crops back and keeping the gills. Just my personal preference. Looked like a very good day. Way to go. Hoping to get a chance for first ice down here late next week. Be safe brother.
Nice fishing day there! I'll take those bass over crappie for eating any day! 12 to 15 inch bass are the best. Some lakes in our state don't have size limits, so I've kept the smaller ones. Delish!
Oh man must be nice to be on hard water. Here in Michigan it’s been unseasonably warm. I think we are going to have another bust season, unless you wanna drive 8 hours or more. Already thinking about spring fishing.
Finally, somebody who knows how to get fish out of the hole by sliding them onto the ice. So many get them up to the hole and reach down to grab them. Recipe for losing them back down the hole. Nice job. Gotta find me a place to catch 'em like that. I proly would have kept the 'gills too. They were pretty nice. BTW, what ice creepers are you using?
Looks like a great day on the ice. I’m curious how much line twist you have on your reel since I’ve always been told reeling against the drag causes line twist. Did you get much line twist after that?
It normally is a big no no but I’ve set my reels up in a way to minimize it! I also tend to pull line out by hand often mitigating any line twist I may have created 👊🏻🧊🎣
I don’t know why you’d keep bluegills over 10 inches anyway that’s completely stupid and throw the 9 inches back I would keep it a dress every day all day long it is much better especially better than a Croppie

You need to tighten your drag. When your reeling you don’t want your spool spinning that just adds to line twist
Nice! You got to scratch the itch! That looked like a fun day.
I definitely felt better being able to walk on water again!
A couple of them gills were pretty nice! Nothing compares though to the lakes that have those special genetics!
