    I didn't realize that these were that valuable. I've seen a couple whole saws around for sale near me for fairly cheap. if I see them again, I will grab them. Thanks for sharing.

      Oh yes. Very valuable saws. The Bad Boys I have seen go for as much as $1,000. But that was in new condition.

    Before the re-dye, try a propane torch! I had an old timer show me on sun faded four wheeler plastics. If you lightly sweep the propane torch over the plastic, it cooks off the oxidation and makes it shiny again. It works pretty well! You don’t want the flame to touch the plastic, just Keep moving the torch so you don’t burn it obviously. Great video brother!!

      I've tried propane on these before. It doesn't work. They seem to be reinforced with fiberglass and that is what prevents it from working on these top covers.

      @@novicelumberjack dang! That was my first thought when I saw the faded one haha! It’s a great trick for certain plastic.

    I didn’t think dye would be able to be removed from plastic parts, but it works. Have you tried spraying dull parts with Lanolin.The make I use is made by INOX, comes in a spray can. Looks good on any plastics, rubber, etc. Dries without leaving an oily residue. Makes a saw or motorcycle, etc look good and easier to clean.

    FYI... Rattle Spray Paint can be removed with Lacquer Thinner. I doubt it will do anything with Dies, but alot of paints it definitely will. Just use a healthy amount, and lots of rags, otherwise it smears and tries to transfers back. Keep up the good content, it was very informative.

      For real. I thought all was lost on that piece. Just happened to see that little box and thought...dye can be removed?! Hot damn!

    That looks like the shade of Royal Purple oil. I'd fill the saw with it if Royal Purple makes two stroke oil xD

    If you have an ultrasonic cleaner I'm guessing that would help remove the color on a microscopic level (assuming you added that color remover to your solution.) I like using it to prep my parts and plastics for paint as a degreasing step. Never thought to try the color removers....Thanks Brother! Let me know if you need some help with painting. I might be able to point you towards some finishes you'll be happy with.

      Have you ever heard of or used Citrol before? It's a Schaeffer's product. Probably one of the best Degreaser/Cleaners you can find. Use it sparingly and it will remove paint and adhesives (from really old Decals) if you let it sit for a while.

      Shocked the hell out of me. I just got lucky and saw the little box sitting there and figured I'd try it. Very happy!

    Hi Novice, i've just discover that 4 strokes saws exist, can you get one and port it ? I thinks you should be the first ever on RUclips to port a 4 strokes chainsaw in this case :D, just an idea ;)

    Was the original remover kind of a bleachy chlorine smell?

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  Год назад

      Not really. I ended up watching a video after I started heating up my water and they were very keen to say that there was no bleach and therefore was easier on the fabric.

    Maybe you can get lucky and sell it to someone who is color blind like me, but my issue is with red and green not purple or black!😅😂😅😂

      I'll specifically target the purple and black color blind chainsaw enthusiasts out there. Surely it's a big market!
