@@Agentshadling understandable- I guess by “hiding” I mean people in general who may have gone from playing in neon pop punk bands to more serious indie rock as they got older. There are a few local musicians from my area where that happened. I should’ve written about people in general as opposed to a single band that lasts 10 years

dude, I have been watching your channel for a bit now but I never saw this video before. the way u talk about the maine is how I sound talking about brand new (I know, I have to separate it). I love this videos but I think i'm one of the viewers that u mention being older than u. (probably not by much but the time period we're talking about is during our fast moving formative years). that said I was just aging out of the myspace scene music thing and into indie music around the time bands like the maine were taking off. the myspace bands (I don't know if I should call them that or not) and bands I found on xanga and purevolume of my time were like anberlin and underoath and the rocket summer. I remember nevershoutnever but I only remember rocket to the moon being a solo act I thought? anyway, you got me wanting to make deep dives into that content now. (if u see this, I still think a video about the weird obsession bands had with orgs like to write love on her arms and invisible children and stuff would be interesting and also the heavy christian music influence in the scene that seems to have completely disappeared.) k cool, stay fresh and swag.

Great video, as always. Lots of memories here; I remember those sampler CDs that used to come in AP and you could pick up for free at Warped Tour. I wish I'd kept more of them. That Akon song was on one of them, I think--the Punk Goes...covers, you could do a whole episode on them. Personally, I think All Time Low at least competes with The Maine for "still around and better than ever" but I'm biased because Wake Up Sunshine has probably been the album that got me through quarantine last Spring/Summer. I hope The Maine's Sad Summer Tour happens next summer b/c both of those bands are slated to be on it, so it should be a pretty awesome show.
