I bet the band is so proud of Arin for playing that song, seeing as it is the last song the Rev wrote and played technically. He does a great job every time
I miss him and I've never met him, but I guess I know him through his music. I almost always tear up listening to songs he sings in, as well as Pinkly Smooth. I miss you, Jimmy. :(
If you just watch his ''best of The Rev'' videos you'll understand he is probably one of the best guys that've ever lived.. and one of the funniest! It's sad seeing a happy guy like him commit suicide after he wrote ''Fiction'' and ''Brompton Cocktail'' ( Brompton Cocktail how he allegedly hinted his suicide if you didn't know )
+Second Heartbeat watch the one from rock in rio 2013. Syn's guitar cuts out at the end of the song so he cant finish playing. He storms off then returns a few seconds later with no guitar and backs up shadows vocals while in tears.
ThatGamerGirl2002 Im obviously must be plain stupid cos im not being sarcastic. I dont get what is so touching about a light on some stairs with a beer bottle and something else.
Mason Johnson They put the spotlight there because its kinda like where they think Jimmy would be. I know he was there drummer but you obviously get the point of what they were trying to do. They do it on every show they sing Fiction on
I don't get it, what is so emotional about a cloth and a beer bottle, that's all it was right? I don't see why they did that. I do understand about the rev and the band but I just don't get the spotlight on the stairs part.
Saw these guys a couple of days ago. While I love their music, they weren't all that great live. They almost looked bored... Had no energy and didn't really play to the crowd. Regardless though this song brings tears...
It makes me sad too. I analysed the lyrics in the song and it's definitely about someone reaching the end of their life. Many think it's The Rev's suicide note. I wouldn't say that but I do think he wrote it as a goodbye to the band, and the world.
TheClever69 In my own honest opinion, I think it was his suicide note. Given what was found in his system, it makes sense. Some say it was more accident because he just had a Brompton Cocktail(pills mixed with alcohol if you didn't know), but the thing with that is since he had an enlarged heart, that doesn't sound like it would mix well and I think that if he did have that, he knew what the outcome would be. Now I'm no doctor, butt hat's what I think
Masterown35 I agree with you about everything surrounding his death and the song. What I meant was just that I wouldn't call it a 'suicide note' so much as a farewell. Or maybe I prefer to call it a farewell. Either way, I do believe he ended his own life and under his situation, I agree with him. Why live your remaining years in constant agony? As for the Brompton Cocktail thing, I know what it is cuz I looked up about it before and every pill he took was a prescription drug. I can't remember the names of them but I know that there were 2 separate drugs that were pain killers and another 2 that were to combat anxiety and depression. An illegal drug overdose is one thing but if he was on those drugs legally he would have known exactly how much to take and exactly how much would kill him. I do agree that it was suicide but I just personally like to call this a 'farewell'
When they shined the spotlight on the empty part of the stage when the Rev was singing, that was seriously some haunting shit.
What empty part of the stage?
Nick Warr ^ Well played, random citizen. Well played.
The man test: listen to this song without tearing up... I definitely failed
I cry every time I hear this song.
Blaze__pwner uhhhhhh........... yes men do cry, but were girls :/
The Rev was singing in the spotlight. You can't see him, but he was.
The rev isn't dead God just needed a drum lesson he'll be back and he'll be the knife master
Probably my fav comment here
Bullshit God knows everything the Rev is in heaven learning from God
You are both wrong, the Rev is God, he's actually just off in the heavenly woods, never to come back. But when he does, he will be the knife master.
Probraly he's not in heaven...
@@eriksantos418 nah man theyre all great people and the rev was no exception
Syn just stares at the empty spotlight as Jimmy sings in the background. ;_; the feels
Rip jimmy i speak for every avenged sevenfold fan around the world when i say we miss you
I bet the band is so proud of Arin for playing that song, seeing as it is the last song the Rev wrote and played technically. He does a great job every time
Lol no, that Kids a little prick and they kicked his sorry ass out quick. He didn't last long at all hahahahaha
If there's a kick-drum in the sky, the REV is there. Playing in perfect time.
I miss him and I've never met him, but I guess I know him through his music. I almost always tear up listening to songs he sings in, as well as Pinkly Smooth. I miss you, Jimmy. :(

my heart broke when brian was staring at empty spotlight on the stairs

Yeah I've seen that..
Oh my god the spotlight on the empty part of the stairs. Broke me. I cried, oh my goodness
Why? What was on the stairs? It was just a book and beer bottle right? How can that make someone cry?
I looked back at it, the book looks more like a cloth.
Mason Johnson Dude...Are you trying to be sarcastic or are you just plain stupid?
ThatGamerGirl2002 Im obviously must be plain stupid cos im not being sarcastic. I dont get what is so touching about a light on some stairs with a beer bottle and something else.

this song and so far away always makes me cry ...
literally that spotlight shined on Jimmy and I instantly started crying. I started balling when he said "...when I'm not with you....tonight."
I was at this concert, heavy feels during this song. I like how Shadows holds back when dueting with Jimmys voice so he doesn't overpower it.
The empty spotlight is what broke me. Oh man...
ikr i teared up and got chills through my body
Of that didn't break you, you have no heart
I got chills when I saw that part
I don't get it, what is so emotional about a cloth and a beer bottle, that's all it was right? I don't see why they did that. I do understand about the rev and the band but I just don't get the spotlight on the stairs part.
Mason Johnson *facepalm*
Awesome to see Illejay play this song. It's cool to say that he's okay and understands the bands grieving for their buddy. \m/
rest in peace, REV, you've always been and will always be a7x's guardian angel...

i know this was written by the rev but is that him singing to?
Yep its the rev singing with M.Shadows !
i didnt know it was him i thought he died b4 he recorded it
No he recorded a demo and he gave it to shadows and shadows has kept the vocals of the rev on it !
this is my thought but do you think the intro to the song is some what creepy
Yea a litle bit
Ahahahha such an happy starting with a sad song!
:( that must of gotten to them after the show
This song is so damn depressing. Especially with the fact that his vocals are on it. And with the lyrics I just can't help but think....well you know.
It makes me sad too. I analysed the lyrics in the song and it's definitely about someone reaching the end of their life. Many think it's The Rev's suicide note. I wouldn't say that but I do think he wrote it as a goodbye to the band, and the world.
