this is probably what AFI's The Leaving Songs would have sounded like if AFI had never left their East Bay Hardcore phase. phenomenal cover, thank you all!
No way. Sing the Sorrow is really great, but Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is just magical. Perfect combination of similar influences as AFI but done in a way that just manages to sound something all its own transcend just the punk scene into a defining record for the early 2000s.
One of my favorite things about the Two Minutes to Late Night Team is that they've introduced me to a lot of bands and musicians I either hadn't heard or just needed more exposure to. Hats off to you good people.
Not sure how this only has 16k views right now. So good! Also, still love this album even 20 years out. These lyrics hit in a very different way than they did early on. Amazing! Time to replay for the 50th time.
This... was surprisingly brilliant.. I love that singer's energy. Very refreshing. Good job guys. The old me can only appreciate your energy and your eagerness.
@@the_real_tay_loud2072 Here's hoping that Regulate will move forward in this or a similar direction somehow. Went to check them after this video, and no disrespect towards what they're doing, but it just doesn't seem to unleash his potential.
While it wasn't so good that it made the original even better by association (looking your way 1979) this was really, really good. Sebastian kicked ass.
Very nice. Not familiar with the vocalist doing the vocals but he definitely did a great job especially with how daveys vocals can be in general and more so on pt 1 than doing it as pt 2. Also liked the background vocals.
Dude I wanted to make a hardcore punk cover of this so bad like years ago and now I don't feel like I can do it You guys went above and beyond it sounds amazing
wow, this is just amazing, the whole way thru. Years ago I had a dream AFI did a video for The Leaving Song but the version of the song they were playing had drums and bass too, not unlike this 👍
Such a great song, such a great cover! Loved the graveyard shots. I don't know if it's just me, but all of the post music video stuff doesn't seem to have sound.
A masterpiece! I love the "Jade spin" you do at the beginning. I've always wanted that guitar. Closest I've gotten is an Epiphone Les Paul, still love it!
Nice one, guys. Nice guitar, Gwarsenio. A great nod to Jade. I saw AFI live a few months ago and they previewed The Leaving Song, Part 4. They had to stop the show to clean up all the blood. It was great.
Great job on this cover, though that’s far from exclusive to this track. My intro to AFI was Madden NFL 2004 (pause for laughs/mocking), which included The Leaving Song, Pt. II. Between that and a friend in junior high who was a huge fan of the band, I have a lot of nostalgia for Sing the Sorrow and this cover definitely strikes that same chord!
This is an epic cover! The leaving song pt II is one of my favorite song from "Sing the Sorrow" and now this cover too. "Silver and cold and girl's not grey" are also great songs from the same album.
The "Master Killer of Two Minutes to Late Night AFI tributes"
This comment should win a award just cuz of the “lore” 🤣
Friend of the show
Revisiting this 8 months on, still so god damn good.
I can't believe Sing the Sorrow is turning 20 this week.
I can Joel, who shares the same Portuguese last name ;)
@@MikeyAfterDark great Portugal Caralho! moment!
Shut up.
i still have phases where i jam the album a lot.
When someone asks me which album was *that* album, my answer is Sing the Sorrow. Every time. 🖤
this is probably what AFI's The Leaving Songs would have sounded like if AFI had never left their East Bay Hardcore phase. phenomenal cover, thank you all!
This is the best AFI song since 2003!!
Sing the Sorrow deserved to be bigger the MCR's Three Cheers. The album was great from start to finish and still holds after all these years.
Hey now lol. No need to pit two great albums against each other
Imo Sing the Sorrow is the better "album" for sure. Three Cheers is more a collection of singles, great in their own right
Eff MCR
it TOTALLY clobbers the MCR record. Not even the same universe.
No way. Sing the Sorrow is really great, but Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is just magical. Perfect combination of similar influences as AFI but done in a way that just manages to sound something all its own transcend just the punk scene into a defining record for the early 2000s.
Two Minutes to Late Night x Hardlore is the crossover we all needed. This cover kicks so much ass
Now we just need Danhausen!
One of the greatest cover songs I've ever heard in my life. AFI would be burning inside with pride
I’m sure they are! Jade just reposted in on IG ❤️🔥
@@rizumu1well you just finally gave me a reason to check my Instagram again 😅
Sebastian’s vocals are incredible
I reckon he idealises Davy and was stoked to sing this.
This is easily the best AFI cover I have ever heard.
Kinda mad that it took us almost exactly 20 years to the day to FINALLY get Part III.
This is perfection.
Hahahaa! What a great part 3 it is
Can’t put into words how much I like this. Love the nod to Synesthesia in the intro riff.
Ding ding ding!
@@colinyovng Favorite song on that album. Hope they play it this weekend!
Fuck yes
This is definitely the Master Killer of AFI covers/tributes. Add extra points for a spin kicking singing drummer🔥

FYI - Your outro + channel plug portion doesn't seem to have audio
@@punkrockshowoff Thanks for the heads up! We got it fixed
One of my favorite things about the Two Minutes to Late Night Team is that they've introduced me to a lot of bands and musicians I either hadn't heard or just needed more exposure to. Hats off to you good people.
The ad portion at the end seems to have no audio.
One of the best albums of all time, in my opinion. I like how you combined part 1 & 2 together with a bit more flare! Great tribute!!!
I love this and especially how you matched your guitar to Jades classic black LP
Awesome, the jade Puget spin was on point.
Not sure how this only has 16k views right now. So good! Also, still love this album even 20 years out. These lyrics hit in a very different way than they did early on. Amazing! Time to replay for the 50th time.
The black Les Paul Studio, the spins - IYKYK
guitar spin in an old graveyard in the woods is the biggest AFI mood. (also your outro audio is busted)
what happened to the sound at the end? I'm not good at reading lips
This... was surprisingly brilliant.. I love that singer's energy. Very refreshing.
Good job guys. The old me can only appreciate your energy and your eagerness.
That’s Seb from regulate. He’s gonna be a household name in a few years just watch!

That tapping lick is incredibly well used here !
Agreed
Man this is such a great album. I love how you flip these songs in each of your covers. Please never stop!
Insane how much STS STILL holds up. Undoubtedly Master Killer tier.
Also loving Seba‘a voice on here. Sounds awesome.
Absolute banger. I just listened to the Hardlore Master Killer ep and STS made the list for obvious reasons. So happy this exists fellas. 10/10
Gwarsenio, thank you for introducing me to Deafheaven.
While it wasn't so good that it made the original even better by association (looking your way 1979) this was really, really good. Sebastian kicked ass.
Still can’t stop listening to this amazing tribute. Best EVER!!! I want this on my iPod soooo bad
This is golden. We all need it on Spotify asap
I'm sayin!
Amazing cover of an amazing song from an amazing album. Happy birthday Sing The Sorrow !
I can't ever skip this track.
Very nice. Not familiar with the vocalist doing the vocals but he definitely did a great job especially with how daveys vocals can be in general and more so on pt 1 than doing it as pt 2. Also liked the background vocals.
Love this, I still listen to old AFI all the time
Can stop listening to this since it came out - amazing
Dude I wanted to make a hardcore punk cover of this so bad like years ago and now I don't feel like I can do it You guys went above and beyond it sounds amazing
Yes yes yes. Amazing job as usual 👏
It’s Hardlore time.
Oh wait. Wrong channel.
Love this, sounds like art of drowning
i luv what you guys did here
damn, this was really good. and that vocalist can wail!
didn't know seb had pipes like this! this kicks ass
wow, this is just amazing, the whole way thru. Years ago I had a dream AFI did a video for The Leaving Song but the version of the song they were playing had drums and bass too, not unlike this 👍
Almost spit my coffee out at the Mr. Brother reference. 😂
Such a sick cover. Not me listening to sing the sorrow after hearing this.
This was incredible!
Can't hear your voice at the end dude! Or is my device punking me?
I couldn't hear it either!
I think we're witnessing the start of Gwarsenio's mime phase
Such a great song, such a great cover! Loved the graveyard shots. I don't know if it's just me, but all of the post music video stuff doesn't seem to have sound.
Who is this dude with such an amazing voice!!
This is one of the best things I’ve ever heard. Has been stuck in my head since yesterday.
When I first heard this I was a fan but now... I'm a whole air conditioner. Phenomenal mashup
I've always wanted to hear a rockin' version of this song. Thank you!
Excuse me mister brother, did you all really just make this sick of a tribute?
It is really awesome
Damn this dude has a nice voice
This is fantastic!! Man i really hope they record/steam the show on Saturday. I really would love to see it. One of my fav albums of all time!
A masterpiece! I love the "Jade spin" you do at the beginning. I've always wanted that guitar. Closest I've gotten is an Epiphone Les Paul, still love it!

I grew up with leaving song and this is simply amazing. Wish AFI would cover this tribute lol
So somehow your audio is gone at the end of the video. Which sucks cause I wanted to know what this videos dunnable guitar looked like.
loved this. FYI the audio wasn't working for the tag on the end though.
From one Mr. Brother to another this is incredible
Big ups to Seb Nyeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Great job on this cover, though that’s far from exclusive to this track.

i love you, this album is great! all in one song now? nicely done!
I would love to hear this lineup do an entire album worth of AFI covers. If it ever comes out, take my money!
Sing the Sorrow will always have a special place in my heart. Whole album rocks.
Que pedrada Gwarsenio , PQP!!!!!!
And the Gibson Le Paul Studio?? Jade would be proud
This is an epic cover! The leaving song pt II is one of my favorite song from "Sing the Sorrow" and now this cover too. "Silver and cold and girl's not grey" are also great songs from the same album.
holy what! this is awesome
Very nice!!
This is fucking perfect.
Nice vocals!
This was awesome!
This is class, hope y’all consider doing something with Paper Airplanes (Makeshift Wings) or Dancing Through Sunday, maybe mixing those two?
this is amazing
Guys this is an amazing fucking song, well done all of you👏👏👏
Jade is hyped on this cover experience, that's how I found this. Love ya for this, Gwarsenio 🖤🤌
Death of Seasons is one of my all time favorites songs... Ever! That synth breakdown is 🤘
Also, Cool ass cemetery.
Absolutely fucking amazing tribute to A FIRE INSIDE
using the correct guitar on this cover! amazing work! well done
Brilliant.
This goes SO hard
this sounds like synesthesia and I LOVE that!!
That was fun! Thanks!
Love it!! Just great!!
Awesome job!!!
Nice job!!! 👏
Wow!!! Amazing!
3 songs in one sounded pretty damn awesome!
Holy shit these are dudes are talented

Yeah, that's right, auto correct did it better. Dies or does, matters not
Mr Brother is rippin that Soundgear.
