The story of the park is actually kind of funny: a local millionaire just thought one day "hmm, I have 100 millions of extra cash, maybe I should have my own amusement park". What's even funnier is that the company owning the park also manufactures hydraulic equipment (or the other way around). And the park was named after his former company that manufactured machinery. But yeah, it's definitely my favorite in Finland, purely because there's just so much space and things to do, not just riding coasters.
Your enthusiasm is infectious and your positivity is incredible, for any criticism you might have about anything you always have several praises to counter it, your honest but fair, you make a fantastic theme park tour guide with your knowledge of everything you go on and zest for the thrills. 😊
Super happy you could visit this park, as you said not many enthusiasts do. Even though I live in Finland I rarely visit this park myself because of how remote it is but the few times I've been, I've liked my time there
The reason why amusement parks in Finland have terrible off-season schedules is most likely due to staffing issues since schools/universities start at the start of August
@@vop4813 Yeah in Finland it starts much earlier... high school started on 7.8. for me this year, but it depends on the region. Universities usually start one week later. This shorter summer holiday is usually compensated by longer holidays during the school year.
I think what helps with Power Park's attendance is that they have on-site hotels and camping for both tents and caravans, my first ever visit there I actually slept on site in a tent and the 2nd visit I drove past on my way to visit a friend in the north. I know a lot of people down here in the south of the country who rather make the trek to Power Park than go to Särkänniemi if they're going further north than Linnanmäki. Of course that, and for anyone North of Power Park (there are still some big cities north of there like Oulu) it would obviously be a longer drive to go south.
PowerPark is pretty remote even for us Finns. But luckily it's just next to the main traintrack of the country and as far as I know, some trains stop there during the summer season, so you can get to the park by train from Helsinki. Great park and a great video. Really makes me feel like I should get there again next summer, as it has been some years since I last got to visit.
@@Kerppu68 It's still fair to say Powerpark is pretty remote for MOST Finns, especially when comparing to Linnanmäki or Särkänniemi. No need to act like that was some kind of a jab towards people living in Alahärmä or neighbouring municipalities. I like the park and would pick it over Särkänniemi every time.
Yeah, I do get your point. I have never actually been at Linnanmäki with a ticket, it is so remote for me, and I live quite near to PowerPark. But one day I will test the Linnanmäki, and no doubt many from the south will one day test the Power Park. I don't know which one is better, but both are rumored to be comfortably in the top two of the amusement parks in Finland. I don't think it is too disappointing to visit either one.

It's bit weird but i like the smell of the wooden roller coasters. It feels real somehow compared to the modern ones.
Yes, the layout was made by Mika Salo. You can get this track as a paid addon for the rFactor2 simulator if you want to drive it. It's one of the better kart tracks for sure.
I'm Finnish and had no idea Power Park is this big and has so many coasters.... Now I want to go there! Was glad to see you enjoyed the food as well, it's not always a given when travelling lol.
It must cause some mixed feelings when some ride is closed. Yeah, it's a bummer because you wanted to try it. But at the same time it will also give you some comfrimation and peace in their safety measures; you know they would love to keep all rides open and keep people there longer, but they have their protocols and if any suspicion about the functionality, they close it.
Rides being operated unsafely is not really a thing you have to worry about in the highly developed European countries like the Nordics, Germany, Switzerland etc.
I was there the Saturday after this! Was FAR less crowded, only waited maybe 10 mins max for Junker. Pitts was also closed for me unfortunately (due to wind). Very cool little park but I cant see myself getting back there, being so far up there. Also did the Karting while I was there, it was TONS of fun! Definitely do it next time you’re there
I was pleasantly suprised of the theming in this park. Yes its defently still an amusement park but its well themed for an amusementpark also very pretty overall. I guess they come from all over Finland to go to that park and give it that attendance. Im really looking forward to the Netherlands and France Vlogs!
