They had a routine they knew one could or would even try to attempt to do. They had a love for each other that was stronger than any Shakespearen words could ever define. They were honest with each other and played to each in that honesty. The made us laugh and they made us cry, but they always left us with an emotion. Ones gone and the other picks up his bass cello and plays on and on in honor of moms favorite son 😢.
As a teenager i watched them. Great singing, funny without swear words and their politics were over the top. Nothing today can rival their performances.
Rest in Peace, Tommy. The Smothers Brothers were a part of my treasured memories as a young boy. Watching them on TV with my family was so very special.
The Smother Brothers were way beyond their time!I watched them back then( along time ago.) and I watch them now on RUclips and I still laugh my butt off. Thank you so much Smother Brothers! So GREAT STILL! THANKS Tom and Dick!
Perhaps they were but surely not in December. They still have their voices and sung beautifully while making us all laugh. We will miss Tommy and their act together ❤️
It takes a brain like Tommy’s to think up some wild stuff he himself thinks would work as funny performed after practice and Probably trying the routines put near their homes in California. Dick was an excellent straight man. What a great life to spend it with your sibling working together to bring happiness to others while having a blast and making great money. They also had a popular winery. Much respect to Tom and Dick and their fans!
Tommy and Dickie were extremely hilarious....but man could they seriously sing! Beautiful harmony. I've been listening to them since 1960. Love them. Comedians today have to be foul mouth and vulgar. Red Skelton, Bob Hope , Jack Benny and Smothers Brothers among the funniest and still clean comedians. 🤣
I was at this concert. It was during the associated foods food show and convention. Man that was a fun night. I cant remember the year exactly but it was around 1998 give or take a year.
Although censured at their height for challenging people to think by using satire as did Mark Twain in my opinion they were the greatest comedy team in history.
Growing up listening to The Smothers Brothers (I still have their first LP), I introduced my younger wife to their humor. She was "aware" of their existence but had not invested the time to seriously get into them. She really enjoyed what I selected for her. So much so, that I received two tickets to see them in Niagara Falls in '08, for my birthday (yes, she was a great wife, sadly now deceased). We both were in tears and had sore bellies after their performance. Hilarious. Greatness.
Whats Dick going to do without Tommy??😢😢😢 Does anyone else see the way Tommy looks at his brother. Theres a spritual connection that will last forever!❤❤❤
I was only about 4 and watching 1988 revival of the Smothers Brothers comedy hour and enjoying their songs and variety acts. I wish a dvd release would’ve made of the 1988-1989 after CBS rehired them
They made us think about taking responsibility for our actions. Think for yourself, follow no demands of others, politicians are opportunists. You are responsible for what you do yourself. God restTom, take comfort Dick.
I love those guys! Hysterical! How did Dick stand there with a straight face through all of that? And Tommy's monologue in that part was brilliant. He spoke just enough Spanish for the general audience to understand what he was saying. And being in Salt Lake, the reference to "I had the vision once" was priceless!
@@austincollins6472 Very sad indeed. He was an amazing entertainer, and the dynamic he had with his brother was nothing short of amazing. They helped shape America.
I am so sad. We will never see the likes of the Smothers Brothers again. I am 70 years old and have watched and loved them since I was a young girl. Had some of their albums. Thank you, Tom and Dick, for all the joy and laughter you've brought to us. May you rest in peace, Tom. We will miss you. May God comfort you, Dick and the entire Smothers family. God bless you.
They have to be the original smothers britgers. That was my favorite show on tv at obe time when I was a kid abd they look like tge original smothers brotgers.
Great concert dudes... i told that man to keep his hands off my knee. Other people were tapping their toes.... he objected to my tapping and laughing before every punch line. Reheated jokes 🤣 I laughed at with my mother and sisters. I didnt move in to their old apartments in Fort Worth over by the mall either. A friend did. She fell after triping on the edge of a concrete walk way. I could see the vision, but it was getting old and poorly maintained. Life works out. You didn't have to baby sit it forever.
Where was I? Balcony on the right. The man in front row touched my knee every time I tapped my feet, no harder than any else in the crowd. He stopped after I offered to let him explore the contents of my purse, head on. Teach knee touchers. He had a wife with him. He could touch her knees. They had a license to fight and argue with each other. Oh ✋ wait. I had been waiting since I was age 6, to see you 2 in person no where near an onion.
Yes, but the Quando routine scared the wits out of me. I'd like to scream "That's only the piano-player, Tommy", as I would to all the politicians of the world. But, alas, we need the piano-players. This isn't funny. Thanks, Gilbert; you ruined my perfectly wonderful day.
Rest in peace Tommy. Thank you for your music and humor! You're on the way to a new adventure! ❤️🙏 🎼

RIP Tommy. Absolutely love these guys…..
Tommy is smarter than heck! Very good at what he does.
Can't tell you how much I miss these guys. It was a great, original act. I only wish I could have seen them live back in the early days.
Now this is talent
Never missed ther show. And saw them on Broadway in "I Love My Wife"; still have the LP recording of show. Love these guys always.

50 years and my side still hurts. Just love them to bits.
I actually found out about the smothers brothers in 1988 and was profoundly impressed with their talent.

Tommy was so so talented!
Love these guys!
Tom Smothers was adorable. Such a loss. I loved him.
Rest in peace Tom
They're still young at heart!!!💕
I used to listen to their records all night while I babysat my uncles kids. The time went by fast, and I smiled while I made money
May you still entertain us in heaven!
Went to this concert amazing
I love them!

Agree or disagree with their politics I think I could have a civil conversation with them. Can’t deny they were a unique talent. Thanks. Respectfully.
Real brotherly love
I wish they would come back on the air. They are so funny and not with dirty mouths. Their humor is good clean hilarious rib cracking funny.
I agree. I still love them.
Yea, they need to be on ME TV!
Michael Preddy on piano, Hal Roberts on Drums, and me on electric bass.
What was Michael saying into his headset?
@@Tapioca674 He called the lighting cues.

Today the music died ❤

Unbelievable timing.
AMERICA - THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM - BECAME A REAL IDEA ! LET US CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR THE RIGHT!
I'd love to give them each a hug, for real. And have them in STL, MO.
One of the best shows of that time. I used to watch them all the time. 😀 Rest in peace Tom.

Keep your head down and follow through....

No one has ever bickered with hilarity as well as these brothers!

Australia love you. Just excxellent performancxes.
yes funny ntertainers & social conscience advocates...
rise in power Tommy.
Ho Chi Minh was a brutal màss-murderer of landlords in the 1950s. Even Ken Burns showed this of Ho.

I was with a neighbor, either she or I paid. I think it was her turn. She only kissed Wayne Newton. Elvis impersonationists had nothing to fear.
I think the concert was after I arrived in 2000 and met my friend in 2001. We went just before or after the 2002 Olympics.
I believe Kamala Harris wrote Tommy's quotes about the impossible dream.
REAL POSSIBLE MESSAGE FOR THIS IMPOSSIBLE TIME? GOP CRAZIES!
Sound is so quiet, I turned it up to barely hear, now the ads blow out the ears drums😢. You can fix it with some editing
I always enjoyed them. Sadly, this 23 minutes is by far the worst I've ever heard from them. I didn't even crack a smile.
