What is systemic racism in America?

  • You may think racism in America is caused by a few bad apples. But this animation shows how it's a systemic problem.
The history of racism in America goes back hundreds of years. In the 17th and 19th centuries, white men needed land so they took it from Indigenous people and then enslaved Black people to work the land. To justify using free labor, the whites in power promoted a myth that Black people were inferior.
White Americans now hold 85% of this country's wealth. Black Americans hold just over 4% and Hispanics hold just over 3%. People of color are statistically more likely to be impoverished, incarcerated and face discrimination in health care.

I disagree with all of that. You can be as powerful and wealthy as you want to be. I've seen much success in every race and if you're blaming white people, than the racism falls down on you. I'm sick and tired of people not seeking education and becoming great. I've dated all other races and all of them became successful because they wanted to work hard and not seek free handout payments from the government. If this continues, a Civil War far greater than the last one will rise and we will all be dead. The way Mexicans treated Mexicans and African Americans treated African Americans was far worse. Same goes for everyone else you managed to state. It's a global thing not a "White" thing. You can stay white washed if you want but you really need education on the matter. Just because you see a rich white man who controlled the wealth due to banks, doesn't mean were any of this.

The entire prison system is overtly racist. In short, this is how
      1) black communities are underinvested in, no jobs, no opportunities
      2) young black people have less money, less opportunities and lesser chance at a attending a good school.
      3) the state gentrifies the area further by favoring Businesses over Residents: insisting on more businesses, no matter their social cost to the neighborhood. Disinvestment: Long-term loss of funding for streets, sidewalks, streetlights, schools, parks, pools, etc. Displacement: Residents and small businesses, such as corner stores; raising rents, evictions
      4) police allow drug abuse in these areas, as long as they don’t flood into white neighbourhoods.
      5) police patrols increase in these areas. Assume guilt before obtaining evidence. Approach with your gun drawn. Police brutality.
      6) Arrest black criminals (who are only criminals because they don’t have any other way to survive)
      7) once imprisoned the prison system doesn’t seek to rehabilitate, or build skills for the inmates. Instead it’s college for a lifetime of crime. Inmates are paid on average $1 per hour for labor. - this is a systemic way of recreating slavery
      8) once trapped in this circle, white people and politicians quote crime figures, that black communities drugs and crime is rife. That black people are violent and endangering society. White people believe this, that crime is somehow in black peoples DNA.
      9) white people generally speaking label black people as a problem.
This is just one example of how systemic has worked in the US.
Imagine a world where you’re both playing the same computer game. Just white people play the game on a much easier setting.

It's kind of irresponsible and takes the spotlight from actual cases of racism. If you add the Asian and "other" demographics to this, it turns out whites are not at the top of the food chain, so to speak. See for yourself. This video is quite disingenuous. I'm certain this journalism team doesn't understand basic statistics, let alone responsibility. If we're to believe this video, Caucasian doctors let black babies die more because of racism. It's there anything else contributing to this? So doctors of other ethnic backgrounds see this happen? This is a quote from that study, made at Northwestern University in 2020 - "First, Black infants experience inferior health outcomes regardless of who is treating them." Sooooooooooooo, the root problem exists, and instead they cried that a white doctor did this, though that race of doctor could've been anything and black babies will still have a higher mortality regardless. Instead of pointing to the real problems to find real solutions, everyone says racism and the effort stops there. Who loses? All those dead black babies. This entire video is scripted like this. I would like to get a statistic of the number of white people who have immigrated to the US after slavery and jim crow. These white have nothing to do with those racist periods of US history. And I would imagine that a large number of whites are in this category. My grandparents immigrated to this country 30 years ago with one suitcase per family member. I could not say that they experienced “White Privilege”. Rather, my grandparents and parents have countless times been taken advantage of not knowing the systems and language of this country. From only being able to work at low paying jobs and to this day I still find them getting screwed because of their language barrier. But I would still consider this country the greatest that has ever existed because we have succeeded more in this country, in-spite of our own challenges here, than the former country we came from where our culture and race was the same as the rest of the citizens. With hard work, resilience, and not relying on anybody else, I have seen countless of immigrants come a far way from when they initially came to this great country. I realize that not everyone has the same starting point or obstacles. But painting with a wide brush of “racism” and “white privilege” is over simplifying and not looking into deeper root problems. If you have not first put in 110% of your own effort into your success, don’t blame others for your shortcomings.

Humans lived in isolated small groups for thousands of years. We all lived in the same places for so long, that our physical appearance adapted to the geographical areas we were in. Seeing people of a different "race" meant you were seeing someone from a different geographical area, and you were likely being invaded, hence your tribal apprehension for other races. We lived this way for about 200,000 years.

A quick story. I have coached at HS level and below for over 30 years. I LOVE all my guys...all of them.
I had a young black kid who was a terrific hitter (baseball). I hit him 3rd in our lineup. He could mash a baseball despite his diminutive size. He had one issue tho. When he'd hit the ball, he'd get so excited, he would miss touching a base almost every time he was up. This took us out of important innings, with key guys coming up. We worked with him one on one at practice trying to cure it. No luck. So one game I thought I'd hit him 6th....maybe take some pressure off of him, and see if this would help the case. It did a bit...but with more work to come.
After the game his father confronted me and accused me (loudly and in front of others) of being a RACIST ! I was a racist because I moved his kid down the order to help him. Dad would not listen....I was a racist. Interestingly, I asked him if I was a racist yesterday, as yesterday I batted his kid 3rd !!! He simply turned and walked away, saying "racist" several times under his breath .

They don't give jobs to blacks. They don't go to universities with blacks. In fact they flee areas with them, like highschool kids avoiding the fat kids. All of the complaints of "systemic racism" by black people are complaints that whites don't find them hot basically. This is why these complaints also fall on deaf ears, it's romantic greed that the blacks are asking whites to resolve. Sorry but the government can't force whites to want to mate with blacks.

I don’t believe this crap for a second. There is no proof that racism is the cause to any discrepancy in these statistics. To say that black people are immediately worse off than white people at birth is the most pitiful lie I’ve ever heard. People confuse race with culture and don’t realize that there are statistical differences in cultures among races that lead to differences in life, on average. There are a lot of cultural differences among all races that play a large part in why we all have a different experience in America on average. This video is basically saying that white people and black people have different cultural values because of the level of racism we have for each other and assumes white’s is infinitely higher. What a load of baseless crap.

People should not be able to predict and act on the unobtainable thoughts of an employer.
Boss: This guy isn’t paid as much.
Manager: He’s not doing the job well.
Boss: But, he’s on the list that declares he needs help!
Boss: Here’s another, a woman who isn’t high paid. What the hell is going on!
Manager: She’s not doing the job well either.
Boss: But, she’s on the list that declares she needs help!
Boss: Here’s another that’s not making a high wage.
Manager: They aren’t doing well at their job either, but they aren’t on the list to save, so we may fire them.
What should the boss and manager do?
A: give more money to only those on the save list even though they aren’t doing well at their job.
B: give no raise to those that are not doing their job well.
If you answered B, you want human equality

I have been stereotyped, judged, mocked relentlessly, hindered, hypersexualized, and more without all the facts. I am not rich will probably never be and the little family I had was ripped away even more than they already were. I flew into a rage recently and threw something at someones car and wanted to throw a rock through a window. The type of injustice here is terrible, stupid, and unbearable. I pray God to handle swiftly.

If racism was systemic, then minorities wouldn't be able to get a business license or vote. But guess what, they can do both. I'm a minority. I can own property, vote, start a business, and when I treat police with absolute respect, I get that respect back, of course with a degree of hardened personality, because cops need to be hardened because everyone treats them bad constantly, it's an emotional defense mechanism.

Just a couple questions to all the folks that subscribe to the “all white people are racist” ideology: How am I, a blind individual, suppose to be racist? Given that when I meet someone and begin to converse with them, unless they introduce themselves with “Hi, my name is such and such, and I am a [insert race/color or whatever you want to call it] person”, which by the way never ever happens, I am completely oblivious to their race. So how is it theoretically possible for me to have any racial prejudice towards nothing more than an audial blur? As far as I’m concerned, everybody on this planet looks alike, like a bunch of blurry blobs walking around out there. Racism is stupid and it’s a severely flawed ideal predicated on the bogus belief that somehow race is a quantifiable unit of measurement that defines a person’s self worth. Please, in the name of whatever God you see fit to believe in, find me the textbook that has the racial hierarchy chart that apparently extends from the SI Units chart and tell me where the blurry blob race ranks. I mean do you see how stupid racism sounds? For God sake, at this rate, if we're gonna believe in something as foolish as racism, we might as well believe in the tooth fairy too.

This video is flatly disingenuous for several reasons.
1.- It fails to correlate for the causal factor of age. White people are, on average, older. Older people are, on average, wealthier. In fact, the single largest correlative to determine someone's overall wealth is their age. Old people have more money than young people, as one would hope in any society that values sustained contribution. Shocking stuff.
2.- GDP growth per annum. America's largest jumps in GDP growth percentages were in the 1950's and 1960's, an era when 85% of the population was Caucasian.
3.- Fails to account for reverse causality and third order correlatives at all. Simply because a discrepancy exists doesn't mean the system or even the participants of said system are responsible. Test for additional correlatives such as: cultural proclivities, spending patterns, geographic location (cross-referenced with cost of living), AGE, etc.
TL;DR- this video is a flat out lie.
