You can add more cream and sour cream if you like it creamier, that's certainly more traditional but I personally just really enjoy that rich brown sauce. HAPPY COOKING!!!
Sonny that's the first thing I thought when I saw the thumbnail I was like that looks like stew or goulash, I'm the same way I prefer not to be completely over done with cream
Love you dude, but not incorporating the sour cream in the sauce is criminal. Please retain legal counsel. You will be contacted shortly with a trial date.
Sonny and Marcus are KILLING IT with these videos! Taking beloved dishes from back in the day and knocking them out of the stratosphere in an intensely entertaining way! Fine work fellas!
Beef Stroganoff was my family's go to celebration meal too. My mom is up in age now and no longer cooks. I think I'll give your recipe a try and make it for her.
My wife and I have had a lot of fun cooking some great recipes since finding your channel. Grew up eating this one, but my mom used a mix from a box lol. What we love about your channel is that most recipes are made with ingredients we buy regularly! Elevated comfort food and great techniques that are improving both our cooking skills. And you guys have a great attitude/ humor. Thanks!!
Just made this recipe this afternoon. Super pleased man the sauce was delicious!! The dijons a nice compliment to it as well. Used short egg noodles instead of long ones, worked fine. Store didn't have flank so I had to settle for top round which is a lot tougher and chewier but it was still good. Thanks again! For those wondering it makes about two to three servings, maybe four.
I made this dish tonight with Kestone Beef and it was amazingly delicious & will be in my rotation regularly! I cook onboard my sailboat & when you don't have grocery stores & you have to use your imagination & be as creative as possible. Sometimes you stumble onto a great recipe. This recipe works well with good chunks of beef which is what you get in Keystone Beef. My hubby gave this dish 5 platinum 🌟s🙆♀️❣ Thank you for sharing your recioes & skills with the rest of us❣ You rock 🎸 ❣
I followed your recipe last night and it turned out great. One thing you might want to try is this: Put your flour, corn starch, and seasonings in a 2 quart plastic bag. Use the cheapest "non zip" bag you can find. Put your cut up meat in, blow some air into the bag, and twist it closed trapping as much air as possible. Shake it up and down to coat the meat thoroughly, remove the meat, and shake off the excess either through your fingers or using a sieve. It's quick, clean, effective, and saves washing another bowl. A paper bag works too.
I like making fresh stroganoff. But I love being able to pull one of the 50 pressure canned jars of beef recipes from my pantry shelf. In the time it takes to cook pasta, and thicken the gravy with a bit of arrowroot powder, I am sitting down to a super tender hot meal. I do have to donate about 6 hours on a rainy lounge day in order to process 60 jars. But having literally 6 months of quick meal starters in 3 afternoons is the only way to go. I also have chicken, pork, turkey, and ground beef recipes in jars, as well as a variety of veggies, broths, and sauces. I will definitely be using your technique to prep my roasts and broth for canning more beef. Love your energy and knowledge. For anyone interested, I began canning when I was 20, with a 22 quart canner. In 40 years, I have never had an incident. Canners are built with safety features now, and are reliable when used as instructed. There are thousands of instructional videos on RUclips.
Hey Sonny first off love the channel and have made several of your recipes. Im a Firefighter and would love to make this for Stroganoff dish at the station. Do you have a feature where I can plug in the servings in order to get accurate measurements? Thanks again for all that you do.
I love how humble these guys are! Also love their humor and I've learned so many culinary tips in just a few videos! I'm hooked and have to watch all their content lol
I just made this, easily one of the best things I've ever cooked, and I pride myself on being quite good at cooking!! 10/10 recommend for anyone, the beef was PERFECT, everything was delicious.
The best strogonoff is Brazilian Strogonoff!! Way better than the typical beef “soup”. Recipe typically with Creme de Leite(creme fraiche), Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and soy sauce and/or mustard.
My restaurant uses braised short rib for our stroganoff and it is a delicious variation. This recipe, like all your recipes, looks amazing and will be tested in my kitchen. You’ve never let me down, keep up the great content!
I used to be a chef, but haven’t cooked professionally in a couple years now. When I cooked for a living, I’d watch recipe videos all the time, but stopped after getting out of the industry. Just wanted to say this was a great video and I’m glad you also infuse a bit of fun and humor into it! You got yourself a new subscriber
You always have the most indulgent (and best!) versions of all the classics! Also finally started making the rosemary salt and now I'm permanently hooked. You elevated my cooking game as much as you've elevated my sodium levels!
Made this tonight for my family. SO good!!!! Only thing I wished for was MORE sauce to meat and veg ratio! Going to add volume next time. DEEP flavours. Love it!!
Been watching since the fridge was in the kitchen. Totally impressed with your culinary skills. I’m really curious about where you acquired your experience.
Awesome videos. One request: Talk about the pans you're using. Why are you using stainless/carbon steel/cast iron/etc for each dish? Maybe mention what type of cookware to avoid for certain dishes(example: acidic food for carbon and cast iron). As a cooking noob, it's helpful to understand those things and decide what I should put on the 'ol wishlist. Could help your affiliate earnings too!
I cooked it today and did it with top sirloin which is a nit more tender than flat. I did marinate the cuts for a couple hours. I think coating the meat with the flour actually masks the flavor, I'd rather thicken the sauce with flour. Next time will try that way and see if it's better. Thanks for the great video
Definitely one of my favs, and you did it justice. I will be making this soon enuf, and you’re right, I will probably make it this way from now on! Great job, Dude & Marcus. I really like your channel, don’t ever stop & keep up the good work. We know you love us, and we love you too, and we’re out!
We cooked this for dinner tonight and it was great! Excellent New Years meal. Thank you so much for the recipe however it took me WAY LONGER to actually make than your editing made look like it would take. Thank you for the recipe it was delicious! :)
Sonny, without a doubt you are the best in the business. I love your humour, I love how your recipes are not too difficult and I just wish you were here in Brisbane, Australia.
A childhood favorite of mine. My Ma cooked the beef with mushrooms in the pressure cooker, sour cream and over the egg noodles.. It was the greatest thing ever. ❤❤ Simpler times.
My dad was a Presbyterian pastor, and there were 5 kids in our family. With what a pastor got paid 60 years ago, money was always tight. Back then, chicken hearts and beef heart were very cheap. My mom would make beef heart or chicken heart stroganoff. YUM!
I have everything for it. I also have sour cream. I've been watching different videos for beef stroganoff. I'm making homemade noodles. That's a good looking sauce! 😋
Made this tonight and it was a step up from “Beef Stroganoff.” I used sour cream not cream but still went on the light side to keep the rich brown color. Next time I will not salt anything. Plenty of salt in the other ingredients.
Sony, I really enjoy your videos and always look forward to watching them. If you ever get a TV show, don’t forget about me and send me a signed autograph! Hahaha! You’re the MAN!
Your channel is so fun and has seriously improved my game…I live in Alaska and basted a chicken breast last night in cast iron outside like a frontier chef
Watching some other channels make this dish is frustrating because they NEVER cook the beef first and use the fond that forms at the bottom for the shrooms and onions, but as expected, you guys nailed it. (:
Love it, awesome recipe. One suggestion - and it’s a personal preference I discovered by accident - instead of white wine, my new favorite liquid to use when cooking mushrooms is vermouth. Give that a try and see what you think. Awesome video, love the combination of amazing flavors and awesome personalities! Keep up the great work, Chef!!
I made this over the weekend and it’s good. Be careful with the salt as some of the ingredients already have a lot of it. I still added the sour cream to the sauce and separately per picture and I still like it added in the sauce.
Love this recipe and will definitely give it it a try- Not so happy with the getting in a fridge (appreciate the humour) but kids have died doing this x
I cooked it today, but with brandy (and a splash of red wine) instead of white wine. It was actually my flambe virginity. I maybe overdosed a bit on the cream and forgot about the sour cream. The whole grain mustard balance it. I would also probably prefer the more complex brown sauce. You live and you learn. Wifie says 10/10. I am pretty confident that it won't take long before I will give it another go. edit: I used my rosemary salt for this dish. In lack of a food processor i used a blender. This yields far to fine product that is harder to dose than something more coarse.
OMG Best Video Yet! Super informative and entertaining. I've been watching this channel for a long time, and Marcus was a wonderful addition, Fantastic duo! Cheers!
Now I understand why I love the way you cook. Beef astronauts is my sihtand you look like you know how you like it down to a science. I am interested in your opinion on the box stuff

I’m a sour cream guy. I never grew up ⬆️. Help me!
What could we do for a dairy free option?
Sonny that's the first thing I thought when I saw the thumbnail I was like that looks like stew or goulash, I'm the same way I prefer not to be completely over done with cream

The camera guy should cook something once for us

I keep empty bread bags for this exact thing!! Every time a loaf of bread is gone, keep that bag!!
@@RR-VanityInKnickers Now, THAT is a great idea!
Made the Salisbury steak last weekend (Salisbury steak, Salisbury steak!), now going to make this. Great video and entertaining as well. IYKYK!
It looks like pretty much the same sauce, but with cream. I loved it on the Salisbury. Looking forward to this.
I made it too, very good

You always have the most indulgent (and best!) versions of all the classics! Also finally started making the rosemary salt and now I'm permanently hooked. You elevated my cooking game as much as you've elevated my sodium levels!
Sodium is extremely necessary to us, don't listen to some stupid health report on a 3 letter channel
@@mikem1457 too much sodium is bad, not everything has to be political or some conspiracy.

Not just Mongolian beef but flank steak is my go-to for every stir fry. Dude I'm making this.
I just bought 8 packs of beef because it was on sale and I was wondering what to do with it. THANK YOU!!

The mushroom chopping really brought a 😊 to my face.
I made this tonight and WOW OH MY GOD!!!!!! JUST AMAZING!!!
I too requested this one for special occasions, food memories of my mom making this are some of the fondest memories I have
Will definitely try this! I can’t smell and taste it but it looks really good!!

Sonny, without a doubt you are the best in the business. I love your humour, I love how your recipes are not too difficult and I just wish you were here in Brisbane, Australia.
This is probably the first time I've come across a recipe I had all the ingredients for. This is definitely getting cooked this week.
A childhood favorite of mine. My Ma cooked the beef with mushrooms in the pressure cooker, sour cream and over the egg noodles.. It was the greatest thing ever. ❤❤ Simpler times.

Nice! I’ve been making beef stroganoff for a new years but u taught me a few pointers to improve it. Will try the flash frying the beef.

awwwwsome!!! i use light smoked brisket🥰
