bleekandwriter I enjoy doing it, the music I have compliments it greatly. Though a lot of the music is the same, in parts like the operatic section, we play it differently. But it sounds wonderful in the end. In parts I can hear him counting and it brings a smile to my face. I feel close to Freddie when I do it. Playing with my inspiration, it is wonderful. I can only play the short version of Bohemian Rhapsody. It's like the only thing I can play lol. Playing it either on my phone or laptop but once I go to a store I tried to play it on a real piano I feel like my hand is small xD
4:47 - 5:20 is my favorite part of the piano track. It's like the piano is telling it's own story: starts off strong, and then slows down to some melancholic notes
The part that starts by 2:15, just before the guitar solo and opera part always moves me the most because the narrator pleads his mother to help him get through the situation and you just hear these highkey notes on the piano that emphases his demand. These high notes that Freddie plays with his left hand over his right hand sound to me like the mother is trying to calm his son who is completely desperate. It's crazy how music can make you feel even without the words.
For some reason the piano track behind “anyway the wind blows” (at like 2:23) always touches me. It sounds so very sad, lonely, and sentimental for some reason.
They recorded the piano with two mics, one for the low end and one for the high. That's how they got the stereo piano track (you can see this on the original multitrack files on the internet)
