What I really like about this album, and maybe this wasn’t what they were going for at all, but to me when I read the album name and then I heard their first single “feeling low” I though oh wow maybe they’re going to be a little more poppy/club banger style stuff. I thought it would be kind of a light-hearted “ode to friendship” if you will. And throughout the album there are definitely a couple songs that feel that way like “puppy grin” and “live at the swamp.” But then at the very end of the album they hit you with these three songs that sort of connect thematically (and this is something I love about peach pit. The last three songs of both of their LP’s are cohesive and sort of wrap up the theme nicely) and in the very last one which definitely sounds super poppy still but lyrically tells you what the name “you and your friends” is really referring to. This girl that broke her heart. He’s saying that she thinks everyone’s the bad guy except for her and her friends, but at the end of the day, he wants to be the best bad guy she knows... super creative in my opinion

I just found this band when black licorice came out and I completely agree with what you said about Neil’s voice. There’s just something about it. But since then they’ve become one of my favorite bands cause of the voice, guitars, and lyrics.

Hey Professor Skye! Love this album and the reviews you do on your channel. Gotta give Brian's Movie another chance though, its become one of my favorites on the album (but I also love the Eagles, so go figure). We are a small indie rock band from the states and we were wondering if you do reviews on EP's or singles. We've only put a small amount of music out over the past year but I think if you're a Peach Pit fan it would be right up your alley. Let me know if you would ever consider doing a review!

I agree that Neil's voice is awesome. I think you may have missed some key points though.
"Organic hoohaa and hippy bullshit " might not mean he was being disrespectful. Maybe he is referring to some light-hearted banter that they used to share. People do it in every relationship.
Also, maybe we shouldn't assume his lover was a girl. Baby, How fucked is that?
