you make it look so easy hehehe. due for my first retightening in about 3 weeks, hopefully my DIY does well. thanks for sharing. your hair is BEAUTIFUL
My sister love has your hair type. And she has been having trouble with the ends of her hair. She calls it tumbleweed, because her micro locs are amazing but the ends look so dry and frizzy, even though she moisturizes them showers properly, sleeps with satin, hydrates her hair. She has literally tried everything but can't get the ends to look moisturized. She also takes good care to not get build up.
i have that too! i just make sure that i spray a LITTLE extra leave in or use a bit of mousse on my ends and i braid my hair into sections down as far as i can. i never leave my ends out. so i pretty much rock a braid out all the time and it works for me (for about 3 days then i do it again :)
Can you please tell us where you purchased your tool? Is it just a crochet tool from the craft store? I see multiple people have asked with know response. If it’s a secret just say that.
That’s a great question. I do a three point rotation because when I was doing a four point rotation my locs were becoming way too tight. When I switched to three point I didn’t see that problem any more. And I’m sorry for the late response.
Hey....I LOVE your hair...can you explain to me why after you do the full complete 3pt rotation, you go back to step2&1? Meaning you go: 1,2 3,(that’s 3)then 2, 1?? How come it’s not 1,2,3 then 1,2? Sorry if that don’t make sense
Because if you do 1,2,3 then 1, you'll create a hole in the loc by going from left to right then right to left. Whether you do a 2, 3 or 4 point rotation you should always do a cross motion i.e left to right then top to bottom or right to left then bottom to top.
I started my locs with a 4 point and it's been working well. I think I will try the 3 point though, the 4 point started me off with a good base but it'll be much easier to retighten all my locs with a 3 point. My hair is in the shrinking stage where they prepare to form the lock. My loc textures have changed, they're rough but not in a dry way. It's definitely a new experience on my hair journey. It's such a different experience to see my hair changing so much.
@@KatsCoils My natural hair texture is 4b for the most part. It usually takes on spiral curl (think of the spirals on a notebook) and they were extremely tight. Now, with locs, I dont know what I would describe my texture as. The coil is now more of a tight z, a strand of hair fell out yesterday and I actually stopped to examine it because of how utterly different the pattern of my strand was. Any shed hair that happens to come out now looks like a super tight z pattern rather than the tight coil it used to be when I was a loose natural. The locs aren't bouncy anymore either, they're stiffer and resist being stretched when I do a length check, some I cant even stretch as far as I could in the first month so it looks like my hair is shorter than it is which is fine by me.
You do such a beautiful job of illustrating this. You almost have me believing that I can do this self 😊
Girl u said that! Cuz I was feeling like I could do it too 😃
doing my re-tie this weekend but I plan to do a two point rotation. this video was very helpful

Can you please tell us where you purchased your tool? Is it just a crochet tool from the craft store? I see multiple people have asked with know response. If it’s a secret just say that.

Thanks 🙏🏾
@Kats Coils great video, thanks for the tips! Where did you get your interlocking tool please?
Hey, I got my tool from Hobby Lobby It comes in a back of like 3 or 5. I don't use this tool anymore. but it is perfect for shorter locs.
@@KatsCoils What tool do you use now? I’m just about to make the yarn needle modification.
Very informative, thank you.
Sarah-Jane McLean thanks for watching! I’m glad it. Was informative for you

Can u please tell we where you got your tool?
Great instruction, why do you do a three point rotation vs 4?

Will you be so kind as to demonstrate a 2-point rotation? TFS. Great instructional video.🙂🙂🙂

Why do U use this tool? Can U use a regular crochet needle?
