Good on you for showing the real deal actual noise and visuals. Very effective.

The water pump is right up there with timing belts/chains, tires, and brakes, all things you should never skimp on or ignore for any reason unless you want monumental problems later.
I had one shop fix my radiator. Then the water pump went out. But they never said anything about it when I took it back. All they said was that my engine was fried. They didn't even look. Took to abother mechanic and he realized it needed a new water pump and they flushed the system again as they blamed it on stop leak. I knew they were lying when they said that lol. Ive never allowed anyone to put that in my vehicle. Im just a female. I hardly kbow anything but I can sense when something is fishy. They also left wires lose on the back of my engine and the power on my vehicle was low. Anyways my car is running great. Thank God for some honest mechanics in this world. If anyone can put this into mechanical terms for me I want to leave this company a review so other people know to stay away.
I have a 02 liberty. I just replaced lifters. Might need rod bearings and rocker arms. Notorious of oil sludge.
😮😮😮
JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket I have a liberty and I'm constantly having issues with it
Same here!!! Cables under my driver seat caused my whole dash to light up like a Christmas tree!!!
@@bigounce5893Glad to see your comment. That’s what happened to my daughter’s Liberty and her dashboard lights are crazy!! Those were the exact words I used “lit up like a Christmas Tree.” If you’re saying it was a cable under your seat that cause it, that may be her reason as well because the driver’s side squeaks and bounces as she’s driving it. Thank you!! I’ll have the mechanic check for that. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Had a Jeep Liberty. Finally sold it because of all the trouble it would give me. I called it the Jeep Poverty.
Man I just heard this noise today on my 08 Silverado on start up. I knew it was in the serpentine belt somewhere, but you just pinpointed me to it! Thanks for the video!
It looks all very good and healthy, clean, it breaths clearly.
You're absolutely right !!
Similar with caravans... similar issues.
And yes with the tensioner, they will break apart in your hands.
Man knows his stuf !!
Been looking for a while now on what the noise might be and your quick video helped more than anything else I’ve seen so far. Thank you very much!
Thanks for watching Ritchard
Hahaha my local mechanic tried to fix this same noice coming from my Ford Fiesta by replacing the clutch… didn’t worked 😂😂 well now I now what it is and I can fix it myself.
@@OnlineMechanicTipsI get the same noises but only when putting it in a gear
Did it drastically decrease your milage/ fuel efficiency a lot before fixed?? Thanks
When i heard it i right away looked at the tensioner good job
Might as well replace idler pulley , belt, tensioner pulley , thermostat , water pump and all hoses unless any of those are new .. if ur pushing 100,000 on original equipment .. ur gone be replacing all ur antifreeze so just get it all so u don’t have to replace it again later got a simple hose . My grand Cherokee just did this with 98,500 mile and I thought it was gonna be tensioner but discovered water pump was issue after getting it home where I could see what was Going on.. my water pump was tracking way worse and a lot more wiggly than this one .Wife woulda kept driving it til it died .
Having this issue 2016 jeep GC.. 126K miles

Did it drastically decrease your milage/ fuel efficiency a lot before fixed?? Thanks
If anyone is wondering it would need to be replaced is because the internal bearings are worn out causing the shaft and pulley to walk back and forth..
Thank you
I just bought a classic mustang and I heard a slight growling sound from the water pump. I changed it out before it got to bad. I don’t want to take chances with it going out.
What motor is it
It’s okay just remove it go to autozone show them the bearing and they match it and change it out add grease as well
"I'm gonna shut up this time"... 😂😂😂
He has mind control over them. They be like "STFU". He be quiet. But when they leave, he'll be talking again. 😂😂😂

@labourlawact7826 I bearing can still be noisey without there being play. What kind of car is this? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
@@BubblesTheCat1 Very possible. Sometime strain/tension on a pulley can cause the noise. In other words, if the belt on it with tension, it could be noisey. But while you there with the belt off, start it to make sure the noise not there anymore. If not, its one of those spinning pulleys. At this point, check them all.
😂
Gee. Thanks. Really appreciate it.

Just did tensioner a month ago. Thanks for the inevitable news.
Dude you saved me tremendously. Thank you so much!!!
I replaced the alternator, thinking the bearings were bad. Live and learn 😮
Water pump has bearings on the belt wheel that eventually go bad over time from the constant rotation (same as wheel bearings). They get noisy cause the bearings lose their round shape from wear and can't rotate smoothly anymore. Tension wheel (the wheel that keeps your belts tight) bearings will eventually go bad too. Get real noisy.
that’s the same noise my alternator made ended up leaving me stranded on the road
😮😮😮
Variable water pump shaft, latest innovation, it allows the pulley to absorb imperfections in the belt!
Glad I watched this video I hear this nose sometime
Get er fixed
Normally when it's that bad you can see a water leak, must be a really good seal and only the bearing wore out :)
I had to replace that twice on my lib. The first time it straight up seized. The second time it did the wobble dance that you showed us. I also swapped the tensioner each time.
Liberty, Liberty, Liberty, Liberty! 🗽
Yep
Same thing happened to me except it came apart before I knew what it was
Love a good Jeep them 3.7s made me so much money when I was in auto parts
The one thing I miss about the Liberty is that replacing the water pump or anything on the belt is a cake walk

You can’t just tighten it???
Man I’ve been hearing this for like a year now guess I’ll have to look at it after I figure out why my car always smells like burning oil and that annoying flashing light on the dash
So what needs to be replaced exactly??? This is the only video ive found with the exact noise.
Waterpump?
Every thing bro even the alternator and the Ac compressor
Clutch fan
I have a grinding noise sorta it’s hard to explain. Sounds like a bad bearing on one of the pulleys. No power loss no random missfire
I’m about to change my water pump this week . Just waiting on the part to come thru the mail
Did it drastically decrease your milage/ fuel efficiency a lot before fixed?? Thanks
If you have this problem, you need a better car stereo system.
LOLLLLL ACCURATEE
Dang, I just found out I need to replace a water pump on my highlander. Same noise and same wobble.
Listen everyone it will behoove you to fork out a little extra for the oem part from the manufacturer not a 3rd party aftermarket unit.
If it’s walking, tell her to walk to the auto parts store and replace itself

Easy to change at least.
lol, very
My liberty overhead several months after I bought it. Found debris in thermostat further investigation Found chunk of a old water pump impeller blocking water passage. I have a short on my channel.
Jeep liberty, not really fan , but yeah he knows what's up
Great video. Thanks 👍🏽😁
At least it's not rocket science to replace the water pump like with some Hondas especially the vans where you gotta do the whole timing assembly
Man shut up and lemme hear it dang 😂😂😂
Once the water pump go bad and car cut off and won't cut back on ..is the motor still bad or just replace the pump and it will off ???????
Ojalá todos los carros trajeran el motor e esa posición, todo al frente
Ohoh bought a 07 Explorer recently. Codes gave me multiple mis fires, so I thought it was Sparkplugs, or Coils. But I also get a burning smell thru the vents, & car & engine shake a bit. I'm wondering if it's the flywheel, happens a lot to Fords!
Thanks. " The tensioner lifespan is pretty much the same as the water pump." Wish I knew this when I was replacing my water pump.
water pump is out or almost out

Had to replace mine last year…more because it was leaking antifreeze everywhere.
Hello may i ask how much did you pay?
@@Spartan33333 I took it to a local mechanic I know; it was $150 out the door. I could have done it myself but it needed other work done so I just let him take care of it. The part itself is less than $100 and it’s relatively simple to fix.

So I got an oil change in my truck and after I did my truck is making the same noise as you but it didn’t make that noise before the oil change do you have any tips
Yeah, just changed the oil in my sister's car... similar noise along with a rattling/clanking... I didn't know an oil change could cause issues?
Had something similar on my Patriot.... idler pulleys and alternator
I changed all of those and the sound got worse

I cant hear over the screaming
Smdh, This a 60 second video and I intentionally went silent so the noise can be heard. Its true, you simply cant please everybody. Just no this, if you hear any noise, theres a problem. How bout that?
Does this make the car over heat
Water pumps usually last a very long time..
But when they don't, simply get it replaced.

I’m hearing that same rattling noise on my Lamborghini. Huracan. It’s a rattle only when the car is at idle. Any thoughts ?
I'm surprised it's not spitting water out the front.
Shaft was pretty rusty
So how long will it last? my back up has this problem and is not worth repairing. I'm driving it till it dies.
That's very dangerous driving a car with a water pump and tensioner issues.I learned that lesson two years ago on the interstate my tensioner came loose and my brakes gave out almost causing me to crash into the guard rails at 60 mph. If you hear that screeching sound like in this video take it very seriously I replaced the water pump the tensioner and idler pulley two years ago the sound came back again so I have to to inspect it.
@@darrinfaulkner8911 I traded it to a mechanic. Got a '95 Corolla now with only 100K. I did drive it like that for about 25K.
Your brakes gave out?... did you had brake fluid leak?
Get a pulley puller and tighten it up
What's the average life span of this, I mainly own older Volvo's and they can 100-200K on the original pump.
Stop driving immediately if you own a jeep Chrysler product🙁

This is cool
With these Fine Mopars , you gets lotsa Walking.........

Easiest water pump I ever did.
2 days later my car wouldn’t start turn out the alternator along with the idler pulley and power steering pump went out completely
Sounds like bad Alt bearings too squeaking and knocking
That's why I removed the belt to show the noise.
Cheap bearings anyone replacing this part dont buy cheap part get a gates if they have it for you car or truck
The other day I heard a Cherokee and it had a serious knocking noise like it sounded like or piston slap dude and it was driving they were headed onto the highway so I couldn't tell the owners that that is serious
Dang it i got that noise but mine is on tight n good. Back to the drawing board
Is the water pump expensive to fix?
It depend on the car and how difficult it is to replace
Makes me wish I was at Chrysler again. So much easier working on a specific line. Minus warranty.
3.7 goes straight to the junk yard
I have a 05 crown Vic. P71. Hear the same exact thing bruh
Pulley tensioner needs replaced?
going to end up pissing away a lot of money on the water pump when all he needs is bearings
