Well what a coincidence HW I'm watching this as we sit in a terminal of an airport as we travel and many of our days have started early too over the last 2 weeks! Melbourne looks like a beautiful spot! We'll have to watch the full vid once we finally get home. Cheers!
@@kellygunner7625 Haha how wrong you are. I would roll around in the snow if I were there now. I’m currently at a Christmas function in Sydney sweltering on a hot deck in the sun. 🥵
It took me over a week to watch this one, HW. I saw it was from Melbourne, and being a dyed-in-the-wool Sydneysider, I hesitated. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was delightful. I've heard some people say that St. Kilda is the King's Cross of Melbourne. I don't know how much truth there is in that. Of course, the Cross has tamed down a lot and is no longer what it used to be, Thanks- a very interesting video. Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your family.
@@glenemma1 Thanks for getting through it. Yeh St Kilda used to be quite rough back in the old days. But like many other suburbs close to the city it’s been gentrified. You have a good Christmas too.
They can get very hot weather there, when I visited the first time in summer it was 40c one day, then about 20c the next day. I liked the botanic gardens and the laneways
Hi HW, Thank you for a great video about Melbourne. I hope you had lots of good memories, as you walked around the city. The coffee looked good, the only question I have to ask is Sydney's coffee better than Melbourne's? The weather here is mild, cold and wet, the weather forecasters are prediticting a white Christmas. Let's hope that it snows when everyone is safely home on Christmas Eve. Hey, how is the family dog getting on, I think you call him Jet, I have such a bad memory for names? Have a good weekend and hoping you and your family are ready for Christmas in the sun. 🙏☀️🎄🎅
@@carollizzi6494 Good ones and dud ones. Both cities can thank the Greeks and Italians for the good coffee. Sydney has caught up with Melbourne in the coffee stakes. Hey HW! great walkabout sharing you memoirs loved it. ISP man eh! Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 kinda has a Canadian city feeling to it ..even the vegetation seems almost temperate..here we're expecting our coldest 🥶 night of the winter ❄️ thus far ..-33c feeling like -43c in the wind ..does Melbourne do Christmas 🎄 as good as Sydney??🤔

Hi HW, nice vid seeing some of your old stomping grounds. We managed to find a free shuttle bus at the airport that took us right to the door of our hotel on Flinders. Maybe that's stopped now but $40 return seems a pretty good deal. I had no idea that they start putting up the grandstands for the GP so early. I've been to three British and one Belgian Grands Prix, great atmosphere but way too expensive now.
@@vinbar35 Free transfer. You did well. I sat up in those stands with a view of the Ferrari pit back in the day. Luckily I was a guest and didn’t have to fork out any coin. I can tell you Albert park almost ended me on this tour. I had forgotten how big it was and got caught in the sun and feet also came up with huge blisters. A real walkathon.
Taking one for the team, what a trooper! We all appreciate you going the extra yard. Did you walk the whole circuit, if so then that would be quite a trek. I don't think that those that have never been to a GP realise how long it can take to walk around a race track. The cars go around pretty quickly but they can travel a little faster than us on foot.
@ Nup. But now you mention it. That time when Lewis Hamilton got caught driving a Mercedes sedan on the circuit in Melbourne comes to mind. It was prior to the race when it was still operating as a normal public road. Naughty naughty.
