Surviving with what's in your pack and head for 3 days on Brecon Beacons
/ wildsoul62
You were lucky with the weather Darren. I climbed Corn du and Pen y fan a few years ago with a good friend. We set up a portable radio station at the top. Wonderful stuff. Looking forward to part two.
Sandy
Another great video from Funky. Thanks Daren. All the best from Spokane Valley WA. Navy Davy.
Great video and beautiful scenery - thanks for uploading
Gorgeous location, wow. Spectacular views.
Awesome view ! No camera in the world could capture the grandeur of a sight like that I`m sure. Great seeing Wildsoul with you, she`s Definitely a Trooper ! Thank You Funky for bringing me along. going to watch 2 now. ATB

Awesome views, great seeing you out again, great seeing vee as well. Hope Pete is doing better
great video funky can't wait until the next part it looks absolutely stunning
Hiking poles make a huge difference Daz & like you said especially on the downhill & over technical terrain they help steady you with a heavy pack. Looking forward to part two. Good hike guys.
Very enjoyable. Off to watch part two now!
WildSoul!!! yea boy!!! nice to see her out and about!! hope ya'll had fun!
Amazing, absolutely amazing!
Brilliant video Funky, cant wait for the next day. Your channel is great as you are a regular guy who shows things as they are which attracts people just learning. Some channels portray themselves as experts and have no interest to many people. Your knowledge is massive, your USP is how you put the info across :-)
Excellent video mate - everybody loves the woods but the high fells are something truly special :-)
That sheep must have been thinking,....hmm, trespassers, get off on my land. Lol
Stunning views and bet that really tested out the endurance and fitness levels, looking forward to the next part ~Peace~
sure was zed, it burned the legs but worth it :)
cheers zed
i asked vee to shout you with her food bit on her vid (veggie)
take care my mate
Gday Funky great video of day 1 looking forward to the following days. I got to Brecon last year after competing in the invictus games. My wife and i stayed at a place called the baily stable for a bit of a holiday. Well thanks again for sharing your adventure from down under in Australia.
Fantastic.
I could not access those places, sea level guy here too I am somewhat past it TBH.
Really appreciate you guys filming your travels. Cheers.

This video is fantastic I'd love to do some of the things funkyprepper does. Definitely the outdoors life for me!
Looking good Darren, good to see Vee looking after your safety :) Cheers.........Les.
Excellent vid, wot Brecon with no rain lol you got me chomping at the bit to get back up there. When the snow gets here I will have to get up there. Looking forward to part two. Atb.

Brilliant. Awaiting the next part. I Love the Beacons. I think I need to pay more attention to my fitness level.
Looks like you are up for a good workout on this trip :) Thanks for the video from this beautiful place.
- Martin
lol, it was a test
Love the wide open space. Reminds me of west of the Mississippi in America. I am surprised at the lack of trees. Are the sheep wild, or are they owned by someone?
beautiful country cant wait for the rest
beautiful walk Funk!!
sweet camp! glad you had fun!
Looks like a nice place. Any sheep come over at night or in the morning guess ill be waiting for the next vid. Thanks for sharing.
That was fantastic mate. Some great views there. Looking forward to part 2 :)
Wow...that's on my bucket list. I've always wanted to ruck and camp where the UK special forces get tested. Fantastic video, Funk.
Great video mate, you certainly had the weather for it😄 lovely to see all the stars out as well, only about 30mins from you should have call in for a cup of tea lol.
absolutely stunning and the sound was perfect no wind noise, I had mentioned once before about bananas for leg cramps but couldn't remember what in them that was supposed to work, potassium is what it is so if you get chance to try them maybe they will work for you. atb stay safe Mark in Texas
man your channel is so good. fair play
Awesome vid brother, glad to see you out and about again and with V no less! Don't tell Pete, but I am going to guess a few of us are OK with him sitting this one out, lol. +1 for the poles!
A lot of reservoirs drained in the UK and US...
I wonder why that is?
+alpha numeric must be that "global warming"
I honestly dont have even an educated guess but it is a very interesting topic.
It was drained for maintenance.
Simware
Whole lot of reservation maintenance going on right now. I've got many decades under my belt, and have never seen so many reservoirs drained for maintenance.
What are you implying?
I expect it's more convenient to maintain it while it's still standing than to clean up the mess after it has come crashing down. All these dams are more or less the same age.
great video Funky
ahhhh really enjoyed the video them was the days at 60 and riddled with arthritis I can only manage short hops now. but try to get out to the woods at least once a week rain or shine. if I am going to be sore it may as well be somewhere nice.looking forward to part 2 be good
good attitude
your only here once
brilliant
Awesome spot Funky ! Can't believe how vast that area is, good stuff ! also how do you get around the Copy write laws with the music you put in your videos? I had to delete two songs out of one of my videos.... thanks !
timing
:) 4G on the top of the hillside. :) Where I live in the states (fly over territory) we only get the last version of cell service. When they come out with 5G they will remove the 4G equipment from a big city and move it here . We have 2G and maybe 3G in some areas when the signal from someplace else sneaks in on us. I have set myself up with a walking stick. I never used on exclusively before now but I find it really useful these days. Getting old I think I am :) When we deployed to the med, we operated the radar and electronic equipment. But the lookouts standing outside with binoculars were considered part of our sensor system. So we constantly had them on the communication net with us. We had the dimly lit air conditioned classified information container for a work space and they had the weather. So they were always asking for info about ships schedule, liberty ports, and most importantly if the deployment had been extended . We would always sing Bing Crosby I'll be home for Christmas to them. or Dean Martin White Christmas :)
pen y fan is the saddle and that sheep trail is the old Roman road , but hay enjoy.
Pen Y fan is 30 mins from home, been there many a time, so lucky to have it on my door step, glad you liked the views funky.By the way what's the tune at the beginning of the vid?
Very cool,miss ya V.
You beat me with your vid up first! ... What a fantastic weekend it was ... Missing the hills already.. we were blessed with that weather eh . Vee

Soooo darn gutted I couldn't make it mate, was thinking of you guys all weekend & what you were getting up to...literally getting up the Brecons. You are now christened as a fully fledged Brecon trek nutter lol...even more so next time if/when it's crap weather, still a bloody good time up there. You had spot on weather to savour the whole landscape, blinkin brill!! Like I said mate everything else is an anti climax low key event compared to getting up them mounts n hills. Glad you could get up there & experience it all. Nice one bro boyzzeee :-)
pete you were missed brother, never seen anything like it bruv.
i even caught the sun on my arms lol, such a huge place, very hard to judge distance and terrain too. all good tests, i can see the appeal.

ATB

Iv'e tried poles and i know they are supposed to help but i just can't get on with them they get in the way
i struggled at first - ope to the opposing leg first.
adjust the length so elbows are 45 deg and dig in
I used mine like ski poles so maybe I just got it wrong
Well you sure got lucky and picked a good time to go.
Always carry powdered water.
Awesome views, including Vee's backside! ;-)
Oh candy..... Oh candy..... Oh candy..... Oh candy. Welcome to the sweet shop for the eyes

Are you getting cramps because you don't take in enough salts etc? Sports gels might be a good shout for the cramps.
Ahhh so you spent some time in my neck of the woods, so you must have survived those assassin sheep then!
