I love it when you guys come up with an idea and get to work implementing it. Chris is amazing he never seems bothered by your ideas! Love you guys, table is awesome and will come in handy for many years now.
You also crack me up how hard you work on a piece to sand and change your items to update and you antique it more than when you bought it❤! Love you guys so much😮😊
You are one blessed lady....to hAVE A HUSBAND WHO IS WILLING TO GO TO SO MUCH TROUBLE FOR YOU...whoops caps...I am 79 years old and could have enjoyed life much more for one like him. He is a jewel....but so are you so you both deserve one another. I have been watching...bing watching your videos for 2 weeks now and love everything you all do.
When I heard you say you were going to paint it … I’m thinking … NOOOO. Why can’t you just Varathane a few coats on top! But I have to say, you did a beautiful job. The color and wax treatments were perfect. I’m glad you are taking a hiatus, take care of yourselves! Signed … a long time, loyal fan. ❤
I love your enthusiasm and excitement when you try your paint techniques. The finish looks so naturally seasoned in Yvonnes miraculous technique! You are so fun to watch😂😅😊!
When my grandparents were expecting baby #7, my grandfather built a larger table. For some reason, he built it in the attic. When he was finished, it would not go down the stairs. He had to take the legs off and he lowered it with a rope out of the window. He had to get it in place and then put the legs back on. When the last 2 came along, grandpa added 2 boards on one of the benches. This made the bench long enough for the 2 youngest to sit at the table. They were a family of 12.
I have that same base, same size, same green. The table top is old butcher block, with four rods running through the butcher block, with big rusty, crusty bolts. The block is natural wood that has been varnished. I retrieved this table out of my grandfather’s barn in Pescadero California. It was a bit of a deja vu moment. If only these pieces could talk. 😊
I do like the finished table, but I was hoping you were going to leave the legs alone and just paint the top. We each have our own ideas, huh. Thanks for sharing this project.
I must say once again you and Chris have the determination to turn something old and gross into something beautiful ! You did an amazing paint job on this piece! Thanks for sharing.
You and Chris have eyes to "see" what many others don't see. You always see the potential, do the process, and gingerly crank out something of great value. Impressive, indeed! It's a Gift. I would like to nominate your husband for Man of the Year. There aren't many around like him. What a blessing you got, Yvonne!!! I am happy for you both, cause Chris was doubly blessed when he found you!
@GingerChickRehab You are welcome. You believing it is what matters, and you demonstrate it on your videos often. Blessings have been multiplied to y'all! Watching you two together, does my heart good!
I think I would have Chris cut down the two sides of the table a few inches to make more room to get around it. I think that table is absolutely gorgeous.
OM goodness! I love love love what you did with the table. I fell in love with the table yesterday and I was like, keep the finish!! But you did exactly what was needed! It looks fantastic! I'm so glad it's in your home. Enjoy nesting and thank you for the training!!
Love the finished table. I personally would have cut an inch or so off of the overhang on each end, to make it fit in that space a little better. But it looks great.
You have a wonderful relationship that Chris is willing to go through all that for you, and you two seem to have a lot of fun together. Love your ideas! You have stimulated my creativity! Thanks for sharing your expertise and experiences and having the vision that sees alternate realities for these objects that most of us would never have considered. I absolutely love that green...i collect old quilts and that green is about the same as that ubiquitous green you see on quilts from the 30s. You make the world a better and more interesting place and im grateful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Lol....I have "The Clapper" light system in my bedroom....every time Chris hammers twice my light goes off, then he hammers again and the light comes back on!! Had to share as it makes me laugh every time. Love the table, black wax just set it off right.
Weekday a save. I paint on card board a lot...my bedroom I dad that way. Just something you have to do when you don't have help around. Love the color.
Oh Chickie! You are one happy camper and it's great:) Shout out to Chris for makin it possible. I can see why you are gah, gah over it. I love old tables too. The house will be a showcase by the time you get done with it! God Bless. Hugs, Rebekah
I LOVE the salvage green table!! The color and the old look of it are perfect. Thanks for the reminder about black wax. I love to watch you and learn from you❤️❤️
I just love that table. I would have never gotten rid of it either. I would have found a place to put it in my house too. I think it's just beautiful!!!
Oh my goodness, I love, love, love it too. You and Chris are amazing. I don’t believe there’s anything you can’t salvage and transform and make ibeautiful and functional again. I just love watching your videos and can’t wait to see how you decorate and transform your new house into a beautiful and cozy home. ❤❤❤. And yes, I’ve put cardboard and drop cloth down and painted in the house many time 😆
Love the table and the color....I would have to trim a couple of inches off each end to make it fit between the moulding on each side of the spot where it's going. It's an OCD thing LOL.
Although I don't decorate with rusty crusty, I love all kinds of different styles of decorating. So, I love the table and the beautiful paint color! And I admire all the work you two did to save the table in such hot and humid weather. It turned out perfect! Can't wait to see it put to use in your pantry!! 😊
I paint in my house all the time. The table is my jam for sure! Some of my favorite antiques have the old chippy paint. You did a great job refreshing the table and keeping its history.
When you started sanding my own heart started flutter. And when you added clear wax oh my but adding that black wax I had to catch my breathe as it did the trick. When you say perfect imperfect that table was PERFECT! Definitely my kind of green. I love it, love it! It looks old as it is n meant to be. Now we all know you can mix your milk paint colors n boy you did a fantastic job on it. I still can’t get over it, it’s PERFECT! ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🌟 PS. I’ve got to invest in that Jolene black wax.
Thinking back to when I first started watching your videos, your tastes have certainly changed!!! Back then everything was primed with Kilz primer in white, then painted in Walmart flat black and distressed with sandpaper. You were adamant about no color. Now you are trying new paint brands, colors and techniques. It’s interesting to watch how you have become more open while still keeping your basic style-primitive. I may not like some of your colors or style, but that works for you. I prefer more traditional styles. You prefer greens; I prefer blues. Neither or right or wrong because we are all different. What a boring world this would be. But I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work. I don’t know how can produce a new video almost every day. Amazing!! ❣️
Are they square nails? I like that color green! The table itself is gorgeous…we rent an old school for Christmas and there is an oak table there, exactly like yours! So actually I’d take either and they would fit into my house, lol, greens, & oaks!
I really like the table.💚 You did a great job of matching the paint color.💚 I have painted a few pieces of furniture inside the house, not a big deal. You just do, what you have to do.🙂
This is beautiful.. I'm not going to lie when you first said you were going to paint it I felt like" oh no "bc I loved the color and age of the piece but I should have known better !!!!! You and Chris are an incredible team and the result is gorgeous pieces like this ! ❤️
I have never painted like this but I'm going to paint my entertainment center book shelf with cardboard under the corners! You made the table your own!
Absolutely love your table!! Have done projects in my house during winter months and no workshop. It works. You do what you gotta do to get things done 😊
Hi ya Yvonne I just ❤❤Rusty crusty old pieces too ! Just Wonderfull that you salvaged this piece 👍And yes I’ve Certainly put cardboard under furniture inside when it was Too big to take outside! I just ❤❤ the way it turned out with that old rusty crusty look . Till nxt time take it easy girl .🥰
Sometimes when I watch your videos I feel guilty that I'm enjoying all your hard work while I lay in my bed like a lazy sack of potatoes
Regretfully, you’re not the only one. 😂
Your awesome ❤❤❤
I'm a slug laying in bed watching this video. You are not alone
Ditto
Remember to flip 😂😂😂 we wouldn’t want bedsores 🤪🤪🤪

LOVE LOVE the Table !!!!
💚💚💚 love that it keeps the heritage of the home, perfection 🥰

Sometimes you know a gem when you see it❤

What a small world. We were saying we wondered if they butchered on this table. Maybe the holes were from a grinder attached to it. Now we know.
@@GingerChickRehab I have to agree. And I know that there was butchering done in that barn.
I do like the finished table, but I was hoping you were going to leave the legs alone and just paint the top. We each have our own ideas, huh. Thanks for sharing this project.
Love watching you guys save stuff that other people would just toss to the junk pile
I must say once again you and Chris have the determination to turn something old and gross into something beautiful ! You did an amazing paint job on this piece! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!

@GingerChickRehab You are welcome. You believing it is what matters, and you demonstrate it on your videos often. Blessings have been multiplied to y'all! Watching you two together, does my heart good!
Love that you and Chris saved the table. The green milk paint you mixed up is awesome. Great work ! 🤗

I love the paint mixture, the end result of the table is just perfection!Chris is definitely a good guy to have around with his capabilities!!♥️🌺👍
Couldn't agree more!❤
Agree!
I think I would have Chris cut down the two sides of the table a few inches to make more room to get around it. I think that table is absolutely gorgeous.
Girl i know you're taking a break from filming so thanks for putting out this unseen video. Enjoyed it!!!
You are so welcome! Last one for a bit😉
@GingerChickRehab 😭but can't wait for you're return. Tell Chris him too!

Love the finished table. I personally would have cut an inch or so off of the overhang on each end, to make it fit in that space a little better. But it looks great.
I came in here to see if anyone else would say what I was thinking lol
I agree
My thought as well.
💯 it would prevent many bruises to the hip bone area
Especially since it was being painted anyway.
The table turned out sooooooooo pretty. You always amaze me!
Yvonne....it's Beautiful...You're Amazing!! 😊
Thank you so much!
The black wax makes all the difference!! Great job😊
I know y’all are swamped so I thank you both for giving us this glimpse into what you are up to. Carry-on carry-on! Thank you so much!
I love your table! It turned out beautifully! I especially loved what the waxes did to the finish!! 😊❤
You have a wonderful relationship that Chris is willing to go through all that for you, and you two seem to have a lot of fun together. Love your ideas! You have stimulated my creativity! I wouldn't have moved it either! I've done the same thing with cardboard! The color looks spot on. Super job.

Boy that Jolie black wax really does it! I just loooove how it came out!!! AMAZING!!! Wonderful job you guys did!
Yes… yes it does!
Seems like theres nothing you and chris cant save and make beautiful. Love that color.
So wonderful that you husband shares in your enthusiasm for rusty crusty….some husband would have just brown it in the burn pile!
I love it! That green is my color.
This piece has so much character and a story to tell if we onlu😢spoke ‘table’ ❤
Oh.. I wonder if we’d want to hear the story’s of being stuck in a basement 🥴
Who knows what went on down there!?! LOL
I might try giving a light sanding and then seal it with some poly. I love finding a treasure and making it over! I do love the color.
Wow the color the chippy the black wax! Be still MY heart!! Love it.
I feel you ❤
I just love that table. I would have never gotten rid of it either. I would have found a place to put it in my house too. I think it's just beautiful!!!
Thank you
Love it! It’s a great accent piece in your neutral home!
Oh my goodness, I love, love, love it too. You and Chris are amazing. I don’t believe there’s anything you can’t salvage and transform and make ibeautiful and functional again. Love the table and the color....I would have to trim a couple of inches off each end to make it fit between the moulding on each side of the spot where it's going. It's an OCD thing LOL.
But those ends.. they had the worn character.. that’s not easy to reproduce. So that won over my OCD.. I get it.. trust me.
I LOVE IT! That was a very short break you took🤣I was not expecting a video today...so THANK YOU!❤
Lol.. we’ll now you can expect one😉
Love the look also and yes plenty of times I paint inside the house especially when I am by myself. Looks great❤
Yes! Thank you!

That came out beautiful. I have definitely painted a piece or two right where they are. Little bit of cardboard and some careful painting 😊
Yep.. a bit more careful in the house 🤗
I have never painted like this but I'm going to paint my entertainment center book shelf with cardboard under the corners! You made the table your own!
OMG What an awesome table. You did a fantastic job. The only thing I would do differently is put it in my dining room!!! LOL
Great treasure left with the house for you now to enjoy. Looks amazing!!
I love it, and yes painted my whole dining set right in the kitchen with cardboard under it...
I'm glad you sanded it down. You pretty much got it back to it's original look. But as you said, you know what's on it. Great job Yvonne! ❤️
Thank you!
This came out just beautifully. Great job, the colour is perfect.
You did a great job to remake it and keep it looking old. It looks great!
Absolutely love your table!! Have done projects in my house during winter months and no workshop. It works. You do what you gotta do to get things done 😊
You matched the paint almost perfectly! Such a nice project.
That large table looks great! Love the color and you all your hard work paid off.
At first I thought this might be that rare piece that you guys decided not to tackle, but I should have known better!
I absolutely love it so much and i think your slowly coming over to the primitive side ❤❤❤
You did an amazing job . Don’t we always second guess ourselves !!! Nice Irish green lol hello from Ireland 💕

Wow! I love that old table, you did a wonderful job. Well done.
I love love what you did as i would love to have this table.
So glad to see you save this old piece.
I love it! It would look so good with a shelf built under it so you can keep things off the floor. But, I love it either way.
