I use to make my newborn daughter hair barrettes with the ribbon in the first diy just like you did. I would see it to a small snap barrette. So pretty. I'd make Christmas ones with a bell in the middle and a small bow. Reminded me of Victorian type things I guess. Now days they use bows bigger than the baby's head. I'll stay with my beautiful diy bows. You can make as big or small as you want. Your flower cone is beautiful. Thanks for the memories.

I’m in my late 60’s and suffered some health issues last year. I’ve crafted and hoarded stuff all my life and I realized after I got sick that I was never going to live long enough to use all the things I’ve collected. I also realized that maybe someone like you could use my perfectly imperfect findings. I have no relatives to give the old family pictures to. I didn’t even have a clue who most of the people were. I did save a box of pictures of my parents, grandparent and great grandparents. These were pictures my grandma displayed on the piano so she talked about them and I knew who they were. I’m so glad to see a younger person use these artifacts to great affect. Thanks for the great video! And this is why you find family artifacts at thrift stores and tag sales.

@@BlackJack-sx1jw I'm in my mid 60s too. I had so many things also from years of collecting like a tidy hoarder 🤣 Did you have any of the old photographs that were on the cardboard, so many things were made so well they went all out in the olden days. My grandmother had a lot of those...

@@BlackJack-sx1jw Glad you're feeling better! One place I have donated a lot to is St Vincent de Paul. They really step up and do a lot for the community. I'm not sure if you have one in your area, but in my area they even have nurse practitioners and pharmacies to help people especially the elderly get their medications. My husband and I are senior citizens and had some major issues in the last year, and they really stepped up! Please consider donating to them as well :-)

I went to bed watching your video, woke up started watching your videos, I’m so glade I found your channel, you are such a wonderful designer, you have such an imagination,so creative, very talented.
I just love everything I’ve seen you do. I love anything with roses, ribbon,Victorian style, I can’t seem to get away from it, I just love old pictures, I cry when I come across pictures, like this one, wish I knew
Some of the history, but my daughter ,and granddaughters, have no desire to keep things, they call me a hoarder, guess I am, I hate to think of throwing anything of the past, that belonged to a aunt,or
Mother or myself. But my husband passed, I wasn’t able to move anything,so not so much on hoarding
Now. I just can’t say enough about your work,it’s so beautiful, I love painting flowers, specially roses.
If my gets give me anything, with roses or flowers, they know I’ll love it. I can’t buy them anything, I
Know they don’t care for it, they’re too picky. I do Love them very, very much. They’re all I have left,
Of course my beautiful grandchildren. Back to your beautiful work, I just loved the colors and flowers
You did last night,to day, I’m just fascinated with everything you’ve done, I really love the old picture
You found. I remember when I use to decorate with all the lace and roses on glass heart containers
They were beautiful. No lace or ribbons left.. I must get off so I can rewind what I’ve missed. Hope you
Continue doing this ,I know you make so many happy, you are so good at directions for us, your voice
Is so clear, easy to listen too. Thanks so much for sharing with us,God Bless you and your family👍♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰💕🙏🏽🙏🏽👍👍👍

Really enjoyed your shabby chic shadow box with vintage salvaged photo of a woman. It broke my heart too that these precious pics are tossed. I do a family tree and always searching for photos of my ancestors!!!
The box with pink and gold ribbons were perfect as was the silver frame around the photos! The paper roses and cameo was just the touch. I am not into stickers so that I personally would leave out. The pearl was the "piece de resistance" on bow! Bravo! Great work! ❤

My mother had two strokes last year and while helping her get things in order I found out she is a worse hoarder than I thought. We found 17 pairs of scissors. I get it when it is three, one for material, one for crafting and the last for thin wire (this had been the oldest pair in my house but I added them to the pile and found a much better pair in moms mix.
I bring this up because I want to make a "sewing" wreath. With wooden spools still holding thread, buttons, lace, a few embroidery patches and the scissors, I think it will be perfect for my craft area.
I intend on putting most on with wire to make it so they can be taken off if needed. No more wondering where the scissors are!

That is absolutely gorgeous!! And you're so quick... Amazing those pearls you use as a hanger look so feminine and rich! I'm so glad I found you
Thank you so much!! I've had Victorian decor in most of my rooms in last 2 homes for 30 + years they go so pretty with my antiques. I think it's just such a style that's warm and cozy. you can get so creative decorating, I like that you can put pretties everywhere I'm a "maximalist" mix with shabby chic, French country. The sad part for me is do to sewer backup, deep flooding in my basement every time it rained! the water even pouring down chimney and running down between plaster walls and the brick causing dangerous black mold throughout house... (Non fixable washer-dryer -3sets, 2 furnaces, hot-water tank, busted pipes) U name it RUINED! This last time and nobody to help me in the smell of mildew and mold were so bad had to wear a mask, but inspector said I had to leave ALL my furnishings, clothing, everything! 😭 I stopped mortgage paym's. This was recently, had the clothes on my back put on my boots, grabbed my purse closed the door behind me, but never to return. Leaving my whole life behind me , I have nothing so when I watch these videos on YT makes me sad I see so many of the things like I had. Go in stores, same thing. So at 65 I've got to start life all over again I think I'm going to go to counseling because I got to get this out of my mind, cuz it eats at me morning noon and night... I'm sorry for going on a rant, once I seen. U making that cone w/ your Victorian paper, the pearls it got my mind a racing!

This video is fabulous!! I don’t decorate with Shabby Chic in my home, but it’s so beautiful you’ve inspired me to do some pieces with special old photos of my parents when they were young. My Dad recently passed away and I’m having to go through soooo many things, especially old photos, my Mom’s old sewing and crafting things. You’ve given me some ideas of how I might dress up & display their wedding photos and senior portraits. Plus I have some of the sweetest pictures of when they both were little children I’d like to make some special frames for or even a shadow box, if I can find one. I have about 6-8 of those pictures that i bought at an antique store 30 years ago., most of mine are tin. They just called to me. They are awesome and eerie at the same time. 30 years. I never knew what to do with them. Theres a reason you are one of my most favorite!

This video popped up in my feed, and I am absolutely thrilled to have found it! I love everything Victorian, shabby chic, you name it! I love those flowers made from lace, that is awesome. My mom is 93, and she would love that tussie mussy you made, so I think I'll make one for her to add to her Mother's Day gifts! In fact, I just recently got new curtains, and they are called Victorian Bustle....got them on Amazon, of course! But I think you would love them, they are gorgeous! Im so happy to find you, this video is amazing.....as are you! ❤❤

I love love love, those thrifted old pictures you found! I feel the same way as you shuffled through them. My heart gave a little ache of the thought that someone just gave them a way! Maybe it was an accident? When I was young my parents had a non-profit come into our home to pick up some boxes that they wanted to donate, they came the same day we were moving out of our house into a new home and my mom was at the new house and my father and the movers were packing the house up. My mother had colour coded all the boxes but unfortunately the movers and the guys from the non-profit didn't pay attention and the non-profit ended up taking all the boxes out of the attic, those boxes that they weren't supposed to take were things like my baby stuff, my mother's wedding dress, and things that belonged to relatives that had passed away, my mother didn't realize for about a year and it took her sometime to put together what had happened to those six or seven boxes!
I can't wait for you to take us for a walk on your property it sounds magical!

I really like shabby chic. Your frames are beautiful !!
I love the witches hat. It's awesome.
I remember my mom saving the Walnut sells that didn't break when she shelled the walnuts. She goued the halfs together and eirther painted them red, or wrapped them in tinfiol and green. She made popcorn, and we strung them for a garland. We also made paper chains. That's all that I remember.
    N
My tree now has lots and lots of handmade ornaments.
