+jakejakeboom That's because you're probably smaller than he is. People forget that he needs more calories and he will consume more because he needs to maintain his mass, which...has taken years to attain. If you're 150 there's no way you can eat like him, and if you do, you're going to bloat up like a balloon.
i was waiting at the end of the video for the nutrition facts to see if it fits my macros or not turns out it fits quite nicely , thanks Alan , keep up the good work
Aint nobody got time for this. Just blend the oats, bannana, bluberrys, milk, cocunut oil, avocado, spinach with protein powder in a blender and fuck it down your gullet.
No it doesn't mean insulin resistance. It's too many damned calories first thing in the morning. Too much blood to the gut to break down all that food. I'm 10% body fat and in perfect health. And I do intermittent fasting so I don't eat until noon anyway. A full cup of dry oats is a lot of carbs to eat first thing in the morning, with all that bacon fat and coconut oil added. This guy is strong as an ox but he's also pretty chubby and overweight. Lots of people would get sleepy eating that much food in the morning in general. I'm just saying the oatmeal is what would put me over the top. The bacon, veggies, and eggs alone would be plenty of food for me. Have you ever eaten that much oatmeal? That's a ton. 1/2 cup is plenty.
+bjornfsteen had made one single cup. How is that a lot? I just ate 200 carbs for breakfast a minute ago including more than a cup of raw oats and I feel great. 1.5 cups of oats, a cup of blueberries, a banana, and some almond milk is like my go-to morning carbs.
Anyone else tried this? I tried it today, so much food but I managed to get it all down. Made my way to the gym, had a bit of minor reflux but nothing bad. Decided to power through and got started with my leg routine. Found it hard to squat as I felt so bloated . Third set in as hit depth on my squat I exploded, launched a full blown oatmeal vomit blitzkrieg onto the gym mirror. I panicked and hightailed it out of there with vomit dripping off my chin. Not sure if its safe to go back but I really want to finish leg day.
u should never squat or deadlift after eating a meal, never. Wait at least 2 hours after ur meal before squatting/deadlifting. You shouldve used logic a bit more
owen j Shouldn't take more than 20-30 mins to cook. Even less if you precut a few days worth of vegetables at a time. How busy is your life if you can't spare 20-30 mins to cook a decent breakfast? lol
KindaSmekt If you struggle getting out of bed then set multiple alarms and set them 30 mins earlier than you would set your normal alarm. Also put your phone/alarm clock somewhere far from your bed so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Also, anyone can cook. All you have to do is follow a recipe. It's even easier these days as there's a youtube video to cook basically anything. If you can't copy simple directions, visually performed for you then you lack basic life skills.
And the human body can process about 40g of Protein at once, so the other 35g is just going through the bowels. This meal needs to be halved. One half for breakfast, the second half in the afternoon or at Lunch. The body uses all the protein then.
+Jack Carter actually not true. The human body can process more than 40g of protein at once. That 40g thing is just a myth. How ever, if you consume a lot of protein you need to make sure that you get enough of fluids because when proteins are broken down they create hydrogen and you need to flush that out or you might end up with kidney stones or other type of problems with your kidneys.
Never before have I been so entertained, watching someone ELSE eat breakfast! I'm glad to see you use all the yolks of the eggs. I am SOOO tired of the misguided, outdated, '80s-originated sentiment that one should avoid egg yolks like the plague, for fear of the fat and cholesterol. An outmoded crock of s*%t propagated by the sugar lobby as a smoke screen, which physicians ate up, hook, line and sinker, and preached to unwary patients. Now they are recanting, thirty years later. Happy eating!
***** I said we're meant to eat meat, and you called me retarded, there's only one reason that is even valid, which would be because I said we're meant to eat meat. So therefore no my statement was not dumb or retarded at all. Thanks for the acknowledgement.
+Slipz Sanz I respect your opinions, but you need to start your own comment thread. All I said was that I found this video entertaining. This is hardly the place for a vegetarian rant....And Miguel, you need to stop encouraging Slips Sanz. ;)
CHR07 Eggs and toast take about 5 minutes. Oatmeal may take around 15 but you can start the oatmeal first then cook the eggs bacon and toast while the oatmeals still cooking
I usually take a glass of water and a scoop of oatmeal, mix those in a bowl and heat the mix in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. It really isn't much different from the 15 minutes way of cooking it. Instead of using fancy ingredients like coconut oil, blueberries and honey you can just use sugar and butter. Bananas are a cheap and delicious addition though.
That looks like my usual breakfast... but why take the veggies off the heat? just add the egg with the veggies in the pan so that the egg binds with the veggies +Alan Thrall
I'm trying to figure out my perfect routine right now. How many over-counter egg cracks should I be doing to build my lats, and how many sets/reps of egg whisks will increase my grip strength? I really want to strengthen my core, but I don't know how many sets of veggie chops to do.
This is a tough one mate. We would have to consider the ratio of your index finger/foot length to get a guesstimate of sets/reps. Experts say its not about how many cracks over the counter you do, but the quality of the shell, pretty much like time under tension. I find that high intensity interval training works best with egg whisks, I really feel it burn in my calves. Good luck!
Typed out a recipe for my future use. This is just for the scrambled eggs part. 6 eggs onion garlic green bell pepper mushrooms avocado spinach 4 bacons Cook bacon on medium Chop veggies take bacon out cook veggies add salt and pepper crack eggs into bowl add splash of milk take veggies off heat scramble eggs add veggies and bacon add chopped avocado half add salsa Serve. Eat. Crush PRs
Wish I could like this video twice. I LOVE the egg scramble and my gf digs the oatmeal. This has become my staple deadlift day breakfast. Thanks Thrall!
This breakfast would cost £9 per day, this is $11.60. It also takes about 40 mins to prepare. This is when you need a wife or GF who can be doing this for you while you tug one of during your morning bath.
Joseph Huggins That's cool about the prices being cheaper in the states. My comment states it would all cost £9 per day which is the currency in my country. At the time of the comment £9 was $11.60 .... converted just to show how much you would be spending on this breakfast in England. What we would do is go to a cafe and pay £4.80 for it and have it cooked for us. BTW £9 today is $11.14 ... still a lot more than in the States. We get one big mac for what you pay for two and I've heard ours are smaller. My parents were buying property in the 1990's and they said steaks at the poolside were being grilled for next to no cost. In a decent restaurant in England a steak will cost £30+ and this is $37.16.
I've been following Alan for about a year now and have always found his videos to be instructional, informative and entertaining and let's be honest - the guy know how to eat! As a senior [coming up on 69] I'm very grateful for his no-nonsense approach and advice.
People saying this takes time to cook probably lives with their parents because 1. Cooking Bacon and eggs takes like 5 mins 2. Chopping veggies will take a min 3. Plus the Oatmeal which was 8-10 min, which in total about 15-20 min to cook..............
+Alex T Hormel Black Label also has a ton of sodium nitrate, I'd find a no-nitrate bacon, it fries better, shrinks less, and tastes the same. It just doesn't last forever in your meat cellar like the nitrate kind.
+Deniz Batu try any kind of ham, preferably air dries one such as parma, serrano or something like this (of course depending on where you come from this could turn out to be really expensive but the parma is really worth it in my view!)
Been on keto for about 1 year now... I used to eat oats every morning but I would never cook them, just soak in cold milk for 10 mins add a few raisins and banana really refreshing. I may go back to my oats brekkie one day but I am happy with my free range eggs and bacon. Good videos with some excellent training stuff. Keep it up.
OK, I'm providing my review of this meal FWIW. I made the whole thing with only the following changes: 1. I added 2 tbsp of peanut butter to the oats portion 2. I used 3 eggs and 3 egg whites Portion: 3/5 - First off, this meal is friggin YUUUGE. I'm a big eater, and I was able to eat all of the egg concoction, and only half of the oats concoction. The macro breakout below is *what I ate* not the meal in its entirety (and is my best guess from using packaging labels and the interwebz). Preparation and convenience: 2/5 - Second, I had one screw-up during meal prep...had that not occurred, it would have taken me about 45 minutes to make! Also, have all your shit out, chopped, prepared, and ready to go BEFORE you start. I had my back turned on the bacon for just a tad too long and burnt them to shit, so I had to start that part over...and it saves having to rush doing things like chopping and measuring. If you make this meal more than once, you'll get your groove down, but I'd definitely have it all out and ready to go ahead of time. Taste: 3/5 - The whole thing tasted pretty good. Not out-of-this-world amazing, but just good. IMHO, not worth the prep time (and the amount of food I went through). Macronutrient profile: 4/5 - Here's what I calculated the whole egg portion and half of the oatmeal portion out to be (yours may differ): Calories - 863 Carbs - 70g Protein - 56g Fats - 43g Overall, I'd rate this meal at a 3/5. If you're looking for convenience, this meal ain't it. If you've got time, like tooling around the kitchen, and you have a big stomach, this meal will probably fit what you're looking for.
AC R Medical studies and expert physicians have misprove your claim and that alot cholestrol high foods and unhealthy fats can cuase clog arteries, atherosclerosis, and many cardiac problems. Avacados can't be compared with bacon and eggs.
Avocados have almost as high lineolic acid and fat content as eggs and bacon. They don't clog arteries, you're going off on outdated information from the 90s that was paid for by the processed food industry. Starches AND sugar causes clogged arteries. I eat 3-6 eggs, plenty of bacon, and other high fat foods everyday. I restrict my sugar and starches completely. Been doing it for years and have no cholesterol issues. If anything, my memory, skin collagen, disgestion, and mood has improved greatly from a raw keto diet. Which makes sense since our brains are fat soluble (which gray matter is made of) and fat turns into longer lipids in the body that satiate our cells/stomaches. Starches and sugar do the opposite, they both turn into glucose which is quick releasing in the body and quickly creates fat tissue if unused.
Cholesterol is what causes clog arteries not fats since cholesterol is what builds up plaque in the inner walls. Please don't tell me you get your info from people who say they are doctos but in reality they're are some fruads cuase physicians like Kim Willams would disagree with your claims.
I soak my oats over night with milk, cinnamon and currents, cooks way faster and creamer the next morning just use boiling water and quick zap in the microwave and done.
Put the rolled oats in a flat wide low Tupperware container put the dried Currents on top then Cinnamon. Pour a milk of ur choice over the lot, only up to the hight of the mix, then put it in the fridge. I like Oat Milk or Armond Milk. The next morning when you making your coffee or tea pour boiling water over the oats, then either cook it in the microwave or on the grill. DONE
I really appreciate the way Alan comes about the ways of just eating naturally, without the need of measuring how much each of the exact vitamins or proteins. His method reminds me of the 'diet' my dad used to do.
+Ziyao Zhou Most of those veggies would need to be cut up a little before being put into a food processor, also his veggies would then be either unevenly sized or turned into a puree/mince mixture. Food processors are great but sometimes its better to just do the work. Besides part of working out is discipline so people who train shouldn't skip out on a little menial labor it's good for the brain.
Why is everyone hating on fat? Fat reduced things are fucking disgusting and not even worth eating. If you burn the calories agin, it doesnt matter how much fat you eat.
Adam Entrekin depends on his macros. A lot of strongmen prefer high protein and high fat with moderate to low carbs. Nothing unusual about that. Plus fat is easier to burn off rather than the pesky complex carbs.
Great video, please make more like it. Videos like this prove that you do not need anything from tub or bottle to get stronger. You can't out work the kitchen.
I know! He looks like he may have had a job as a line cook. Bravo! And the order in which he made everything and stayed really clean while he did it is sort of a give away. I would have made the eggs into an omelette, but shit doggie-- that's a damned good breakfast right there!
There are shortcuts if you are lazy or don't have time. I microwave my oatmeal and mix in milk and protein powder after its ready -2 minutes. I cook my eggs while the Oatmeal is in the mic and I start off with a cup of vanilla flavored Greek yogurt with 15g of protein in it. My breakfast takes maybe 5 minutes to make and its got around 80 grams of protein.
Just made the porridge... not bad at all. As you stir in the ingredient, squeeze open a few blue berries as you stir.... leaves a nice purple texture running through the oats and spreads some of the flavour

put a wet cloth under your chopping board then it wont slip
*Fiber gains. Towels don't have much in the way of protein.
The protein content depends on what you use the towel for before you are planing to eat it.
Okay so now all you need to do is get up around 5am to be in work for 9am :)
But when do i add the whey protein?!
TheTomtah put it in the oatmeal

Then focus your pinapple, papaya, and kiwi on the end of the day.
Maybe for a 5 year old
+RatioOfOne Alan's a BIG guy.
Keep it up.
Eat Untamed! :)
From now on, I will cook breakfast to this music.
Wow, just watching this video has made me realise that my diet is shit and I'm not eating well at all.
Just eat eggs, beef, potatoes and a butt load of veggies and bam! Best most manliest diet you can eat! Done.
"manliest" lmao how ridiculous men can be
And easily triggered as well lol, how weak. Tell your mom it's almost time to teach you how to use the basement's microwave.
Instructions unclear - neighbours called the cops
good breakfast brother but your prep is unecessary...chop beacon 1st....when meat is halfway cooked add veg....then eggs....save yourself hassle
OK, I'm providing my review of this meal FWIW. I made the whole thing with only the following changes:
1. I added 2 tbsp of peanut butter to the oats portion
2. I used 3 eggs and 3 egg whites
Portion: 3/5 - First off, this meal is friggin YUUUGE.
Macronutrient profile: 4/5 - Here's what I calculated the whole egg portion and half of the oatmeal portion out to be (yours may differ):
Calories - 863
Carbs - 70g
Protein - 56g
Fats - 43g
Overall, I'd rate this meal at a 3/5. If you're looking for convenience, this meal ain't it. If you've got time, like tooling around the kitchen, and you have a big stomach, this meal will probably fit what you're looking for.
Goddamn this fucking break fast will give me a cholesterol problem. Its better if to not eat this every day.
You might think that but any time Ive ever seen someone try a diet like this their cholesterol is always fine
The Last Mohican No it won't, fat is great for you. The more bacon eggs, and avocados, the better.
One thing I hate about cooking. It takes me 15-30min to cook but takes me less than 5 min to eat.
I soak my oats over night with milk, cinnamon and currents, cooks way faster and creamer the next morning just use boiling water and quick zap in the microwave and done.
How to soak it sensei?
Put the rolled oats in a flat wide low Tupperware container put the dried Currents on top then Cinnamon. Pour a milk of ur choice over the lot, only up to the hight of the mix, then put it in the fridge. I like Oat Milk or Armond Milk. The next morning when you making your coffee or tea pour boiling water over the oats, then either cook it in the microwave or on the grill. DONE
This whole meal could very well be my breakfast until dinner.
Eat Untamed!!!!
I really appreciate the way Alan comes about the ways of just eating naturally, without the need of measuring how much each of the exact vitamins or proteins. His method reminds me of the 'diet' my dad used to do.
or you could consider invest in a food processor. would probably save you 10 minutes of chopping
And then you gotta clean the damn thing agin.
Can't believe I just spent 8 minutes to watch some dude make scrambled eggs and oatmeal
one spoon of coconut + 6 eggs + bacon = macros instakill. no more fat for you today
You forgot avocado
Why is everyone hating on fat? Fat reduced things are fucking disgusting and not even worth eating. If you burn the calories agin, it doesnt matter how much fat you eat.
RUclips User It's just that he is eating so much fat compared to the other macros. His food isn't super balanced.
Adam Entrekin depends on his macros. A lot of strongmen prefer high protein and high fat with moderate to low carbs. Nothing unusual about that. Plus fat is easier to burn off rather than the pesky complex carbs.
All soaked in cooking oil
Oddly satisfying watching you cook.
American packaging looks so cheap and nasty.
My thoughts.
i bet your mom is with american packaging too
***** cant take me seriously, says someone who replied with an essay, lmao
Hardly an essay Howie. Anyway, I've seen your favourite video's. Do you think it's Christian like to make Mom jokes and troll people.
Sorry mate. I do a hate a mom joke though...
Seriously, one of my favorite videos. Food has never been so entertaining. I looove the music. What is it?
Waste of time making oats in the pot. Use a microwave!
tastes like shit in the microwave
connar mcgrega Only if you don't know how to make oats properly.
+MegaLadysman1234 How can you screw up making oats in a microwave? Unless you're Jason Genova.
Fisher of Men Yeah that's what I mean lol. Making them on the stove is a waste of time.
+MegaLadysman1234 how would you do them?
Great video, please make more like it. Videos like this prove that you do not need anything from tub or bottle to get stronger. You can't out work the kitchen.
It's weird watching a regular recipe after being vegan for ten months.
how'd that work out for you?
+Baron Ockslite Do videos look different now that you're dead?
Baron Ockslite just had to let us know hes vegan...
I was suprised to see bacon grease in my fitness tracker.
Alan, you are the first weightlifting / fitness related youtuber who knows how to handle a knive! Chapeau!
You could feed a small family with all that food.
breakfast so strong it has level 99 strength
Dude...wtf! I invented putting milk in my scrambled eggs. You'll be hearing from my attorneys.
I wonder how many calories that actually is? Definitely a lot :D good video! Thank you for sharing! :)
The title and thumbnail made me think someone was cooking weed and eating it
I love those- No speaking just prepping and eating videos! :D
For those of you wondering, this breakfast has approximately 2500 calories, 200 grams of carbs, 100 grams of protein, and 150 grams of fat.
Was kind of hoping he would put the entire pack of bacon
You're the best. Keep doing what you do.
Gonna go set my alarm for 3AM so I can make breakfast
The only thing stronger than this breakfast is this jazz.
Just a friendly tip for chopping up those veggies - place a dish towel underneath your cutting board. That way it'll stay still.
Just made the porridge... not bad at all. As you stir in the ingredient, squeeze open a few blue berries as you stir.... leaves a nice purple texture running through the oats and spreads some of the flavour
On top of all your great advice and vids, you practice proper knife technique. You're really the realest!
WHAT!!!....No ICONIC "TRAINED UNTAIMED" slogan at the end.......Your'e slipping DUDE!!?
BTW...YOU have the best channel on PWER LIFTING and anyone interested in the BASICS of WEIGHTS!!
Thank you my friend...you have inspired me:))
I got a Vshred ad before this. I thought I had accidentally clicked on a Vshred video. I almost just died.
Back at it again. Looks great!
