I've always thought that it was amazing that they aren't bleeding all over the place with how they huck the metal panels around on all these builds. I would think that having some CA Glue (krazy glue or whatever) handy because it helps seal up things like that slice in a jiffy. Plus, it covers the whole wound so it is essentially covered even if you put a dirty glove on. There is 'medical grade' CA glue but I haven't found any reason to step up to that level when run of the mill 'bonds instantly to skin' kind of CA glue works pretty darn well.

Your comment about your and Greg's relationship reminded me of something that was written about the Wright Bros. in the book "The Bishop's Boys" by Tom Crouch. While trying to work through some of the many obstacles of mechanical flight, it was observed by their then house-keeper that they had spent the entire night passionately arguing from opposite perspectives over a particular problem but by the next morning they were arguing for the other's perspective and then laughing uncontrollably when they realized it. That brotherly relationship was first and IT is what kept them together, on-track, and able to be successful in their (and your) endeavor(s). It's great to watch good friends working. Peace.

Hope your hand healed up good!
You might think about keeping some super glue and liquid band aide or New Skin as it is also called. That’s what I keep around with knuckle and fingertip bandages! Never know when you’ll need them! Better to have them and not need them than to need it and not have it! Super glue is very sterile and effective!

Standing seem roofing is an entirely different system than any just corrugated metal roofing with regular fasteners. There's no comparison at all. Especially not if you move away from steel to more traditional metals. You also have a lot more options with fasteners, integrating roof and wall cladding and so on. A lot more versatile and durable. Also more expensive and time consuming, but well worth it.

My friend just built a sip panel house and had about 12 rolls of the rain slicker type product, that you are using underneath your roofing, left over. I asked if I could grab a piece for a deck build I had coming up. I thought it would be a great product to use between the flashing on the house and the ledger board. The house has cedar siding that has had vinyl siding put on over it so I have to build it out a bit and wanted to insure if any water migrates back there it has a way to escape.

I’m here watching your Roofing. Very impressive. I like how you’re thinking. 10 stages ahead of what gotta go up next that little scratch you got on the back of your hand that ain’t anything that’s nothing. I stepped on some of that valley flashing. It came around 3 inches long Into my right thigh about an inch deep oh, it was awesome !!! But the best one I did holding the framing gun with my left hand. It hit a hard knot and put a 3 inch framing nail 2 inches deep into my right hand. It did not come out. It went in an angle. I looked out the window and it said emergency room at the hospitaland my sick ass first thing I thought of my walk in and say is this an emergency said I went out to my truck, grabbed a pair of pliers, pulled the nail out, sat down for about 10 minutes and then went back to work

It turned out pretty good thanks to some of your tips. Thank you! On a side note the roof pops a lot when the sun hits it. I guess its telling me that it is moving like it should with expansion and contraction.

I suggest framing a triangle shaped wedge section for each each of those tight overhang spots on your roof. This will eliminate having to work in those areas where there is no good way to use your tools to flash and roof those areas. The wedge will create a vertical wall square with the overhang and extends down to the roof slope. The vertical section just needs to be tall enough to allow you to use your tools under the eaves. I know this creates a small wedge shaped cavity which could be filled in with Rockwool. I wish I could add a picture here to make this more clear, but I hope you understand.

I made this comment when they were doing the framing, don’t let architectural details drive construction/maintenance issues. If the valley had been run to the edge of the roof it would not have required the additional framing for another vertical surface below the roof, would have been one main wall and a cleaner roof. Glad to see I’m not the only one that caught this.
