Many thanks for your email. i would certainly go for the eTrex 32x over the 22x, I class the 32x as the best 'budget' buttoned GPS unit on the market. you may find this useful - ruclips.net/video/PSQIjbO3qDs/видео.html
@@ukgpstraining thanks so much for your sharing.. I choose etrex series due to compact size, light weight & good battery life.. And your video help me to choose etrex 32x.. I will buy it, & it is my first garmin gps.. 😉 Thanks again..
Many thanks for your question. The electronic compass does not improve the accuracy of your specific position, but it improves the accuracy in the way you are pointing.
Sorry to hear you are having problems. 1. Firstly I would try doing it in the opposite direction. if that does not work I would - 2. Master reset the unit - gpstraining.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000135806-how-do-i-perform-a-master-or-factory-reset-on-my-gpsmap-62-64-or-66s-series-device- if that does not solve it, it may be a faulty unit. 3. Speak to the retailer and get them to swap the unit. I hope this helps.
Garmin's 3D compass is inaccurate at all, my 66s is pointing in the same direction vertically and horizontally, pointing out a 30 degree difference in azimuth, which is a disaster outdoors
You occasionally get a dodgy compass, your unit needs to go back to the retailer. You do have a two year warranty with any Garmin product, as you rightly say, it's not acceptable. I hope that helps.
Just watched the video on the electronic compass I found it very informative and learned a couple things I didn’t know.
Many thanks, glad it helped in some way.
Very useful and good brief John. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for your video..
I confuse which model i want to buy, 22x or 32x..
Now maybe i choose 32x..
Whats your opinion, are 32x worth compare to 22x?

Have a question, Having an eletronic compass improves the gps accuracy?
Many thanks for your question. The electronic compass does not improve the accuracy of your specific position, but it improves the accuracy in the way you are pointing.
What do you suggest for a budget car das compass?
The best 'budget' GPS with an electronic compass is either a Garmin eTrex 32x or Garmin GPSMAP 65s
My 66i fails on the 3rd step of calibration every time. Any ideas/solutions?
