“You don’t know who you’re dealing with” He wasn’t bluffing. Most successful product to ever from shark tank
Actually doorbot aka Ring was the best
@zacksaccount7785 doorbot aka ring didnt get a deal.
You’re right it didn’t get the deal but all 4 of them wish they would have made a deal cause now is worth $1.8 billion since Amazon bought it from him
@@kevin15175That's easy to say in hindsight though. According to Cuban, before being acquired by Amazon, Ring had to spend hundreds of millions on advertising. There's no way the sharks could have known that the inventor would raise that much money.
The most successful product invested in was actually Bombas socks. This is the second most. The most successful in general is Doorbot/Ring
“I’m only in 5 supermarkets. That’s it”

Too bad Barbara wasn’t there, she would have been “out” so fast
The second she saw what the sponge did under the cold water she knew LOL
And she was right. it sells like crazy even in my little country of Israel, not to mention world wide.
I remember seeing this for the first time and thought it looked stupid as hell. I guess that’s why I’m not a shark 😆
Nah. You could tell that they thought it looked stupid as hell, as well.
But today, that’s what sells.
And that’s all that matters.
Bro just explained how I’m not fully utilizing my scrub daddy in THREE separate ways
Yeah, what's hilarious is they said "it's just a sponge with a face" and I own one, and that's all I use it for, a sponge with a face lol. I even bought Halloween themed ones
I immediatly went and tested it, we've had them in my house for years. all i knew was that water softened it not that it reacts to specific temps. CRAZY
Lol. Me too. 😅

@deecee2174 hahaha I forgot about this comment. Definitely made me giggle when I wrote it
and running it under cold water wondering why its not getting hard
The company is now worth USD300 million and Aaron himself has a net worth of USD75 million. He knew comnections was worth a damn well more than money.
Great to see another dude from Philly making it.
Lori eventually reached out to him too before it all happened. His partner from the very start was her and I was happy for him that Lori even stood up for the other business partners who wanted a deal with Scrub Daddy. Those business partners tried to lead him into failure but Lori stood up for him and his product and made a deal happen with them. The product is now one of the best products out there and he's making great money.
And loris 20% got her 60 million
All that from a slice of pool noodles.
I wish I could leverage my experience and create a product like this
1:53 Look at Lori here. She is like fully concentrated on Aaron and his product. It was like she knew instantly that this man and product had the potential to be top tier, and she was right.
She’s looking at him like a steak dinner, engrossed
Aaron said in an interview that Lori thought he was a scam because she knows how people do tricks on TV sales and either the sponges on the display were two different ones or the 10 pound weights were not actually 10 pounds, then tested it herself and was shocked. They cut it out of the show.
You can see the 💲💲Dollar Signs in her eyes!
She said the same thing
Wait so what about the bald guy?? His connection is not as good? I wonder what the outcome would be had he gone with him.
Dude had the best product and he KNEW it. Gotta respect that
It's not only the product, it was the 18 years manufacturing factory management that I took note of. Also, just this guy's general demeanor. It's easy to say now with hindsight, but you can tell he's the real deal from the jump.
It's just a sponge. They've been around forever.
The guys: This is bad
Lori: I like it
The Guys: Oh crap it’s actually good. Here is an offer
I wanna know what they were laughing at. Obviously not at him.
Its a negotiantion tactic, mean but effective
What makes Mark special is he knew the guy was doing everything right. It just wasn't for him
I went and bought one off Amazon internationally before they came to my country. It's a phenomenal product.
I mean that’s how the show works😂. Y’all act like it’s interesting because they want to compete with other sharks. It’s effing shark tank.
Lori's a genius. I never would have seen the value in this product, I would have seen it as just a little gimmick that wouldn't compete with a normal sponge. Lori saw the potential and blew this thing up. I live in Canada and my aunt and my parents both have one of these, and I didn't know it was a Shark Tank deal till right now. Crazy.
well if more women had been involved in retail earlier, this sponge would have been invented earlier too. the patriarchy has held things back in this way (not dissing on men, i'm not a man-hater).
>the CHADtriarchy out of nowhere
Your meds. NOW.
Same I didn’t know this is where it came from my mom always gets one
I saw the value because I clean, I’m going to get me one
I never saw the value because I only saw it as a smiley scrubby not knowing it got soft and hard like that..... That's pretty different as far as I know at least.
8:44 ''Connections are everything'' Clearly a very wise and visionary woman👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
There's a reason she has netted about $400 million only in company investments.
@@Wasserkaktusonly
@@genieinthepot2455 you read it wrong. The 400 million was made entirely from investments, as in only in investments. They weren't saying "only 400 million" but that the 400 million was from only one source, investment.

She's absolutely right. It's who you know when it comes to wealth. Work hard, work smart, but without those connections, you're going nowhere.
Not Kevin expecting to make a deal after calling him an idiot and offering to essentially take half his business😂😂
It was a rub. Kevin knew it was good cuz he congrats lori on the deal. He was just hazing the guy to act smarter when making a deal.
Kevin deal was great because he just give up haft his business
He was mocking Lori by saying that she was saying he didn’t know what to do and was an idiot. That’s why he said “exactlyyy” after the guy said he did know what to do. Kevin’s whole pitch was that he had the best offer in terms of money, just not the connections. Kevin claimed that the guy didn’t need connections to do well.
How is he asking for half the company. Product costs $1 to make and sells for $2.80. Kevin asks for $.50 per unit sold until he makes his money back, then $.10 per unit after. Thats not 25% of the company, thats not even 15% of the company, thats 1/18% of a single product, especially when this guy says he has more products coming up
@@wardog5537 Because his initial offer was LITERALLY for half the company? You are talking about his second offer.
The obvious answer was to ignore the rest of them and only negotiate with her. The rest of them didn't believe in him until she did.
Hate to be that guy but this is the worst possible lesson to take from scenarios like this.
His willingness to hear the others out, even if he was only ever going to go with her for her experience, got him a much, much better deal.
If it was just her offer on the table he would have much less leverage to justify her raising her offer.

Aaron K is the definition of a small business owner that has the talent and track record to become a shark and join the tank
1:45 is one of the all-time classic Shark Tank moments. They go past the other sharks who are all laughing at the presentation, then finally show Lori who is staring daggers at it. Her eye for household products is unmatched. I think Scrub Daddy is worth well over 100 million now.
300 million actually.
Well... she is a woman..
300* million
Kevin and Damon didn't take it too seriously until they realized Lori already saw the vision and that's when they realized Scrub Daddy was going to make a lot of money. Even from the start, this type of product and presentation was a match made in heaven for Lori, she saw a cash cow the moment he opened his mouth.
But those were laughs of approval. They were impressed by the presentation.
This dude absolutely knew what he was coming into. Amazing presentation, legit rebuttals to every criticism, immediately turned down an awful offer. Man was made for this show
I love how even despite all the scripted and exaggerated parts of this, Lori is LOCKED tf in, she instantly knew this was valuable
For me, the highlight of this pitch was the excellent enunciation by the pitcher. It was engaging, terse, and had absolutely no filler sentence. I feel this pitch should be referenced by any pitcher who is willing to demonstrate their startup.
He knew how to work the elevator pitch. He had prob been practicing it since before he had manufactured a single one.
My goodness his confidence is not fake, in this kind of business you will see fake confidence every where, but this guy is something else, you can see the aura in him.
Bro told Kevin “you’re out” in a heartbeat

Now its something like 150-180 million
@@Tf.ashiee._. as of January its still 300 million or more

@@_Spacecraft yeah maybe
Yeah, but we also must be charitable
Lori's smile at the end it's like she knew she'd be making $50million + from this deal and she was right
His first ask was 100k for 10%, i can see where he thought 200k for 20 was more in line with his initial vision and Lori understood this, and ended up being the perfect partner
He should have just asked to go back to the original offer and probably would have got it. Equity is everything. He's rich sure but he could be richer.
This guy is not stupid, he could clearly tell that Kevin was not sincere in the initial offer until Lori vouched for the product and suddenly he’s making more and more aggressive pitches?
Glad he’s doing so well with Lori
The moment Aaron mentioned QVC, Lori was immediately like _"Oh, really?"_ 😂

This is the art of letting them battle each other while you stay silent until you’re pressured to make a decision. Really well done and it 100% paid off
4:20 they don’t see the vision because they probably haven’t had to wash their own dishes in decades. Every regular Joe and housewife is gonna see the practical applications for a sponge like this.
This was the best free commercial for this guy, im gonna buy 1 now
You won't regret it. Seriously.
Why its a sponge i dont get it
It changes firmness due to temperature and it doesn’t smell. I have one rn and it’s my favorite sponge! Most sponges trap left over residue and smell horrible but not this one
I’ve got a couple of ‘em. They’re bomb proof and they do everything.
They are addicting. They are the best ever -and they smile at you!
The second they showed Laurie after he explained that they change consistency in different water temperatures, you could see her gears turning, she wanted that product, her eyes were daggers in a good way, her eyes lit up with how much of a gold mine this was.
She saw dollar signs
Woman know cleaning. >.>.
I just bought a scrub daddy a few weeks ago at the grocery store in new york. It made doing dishes so much easier. You could see how passionate this guy was in this product.
My concern is the plastic residue that shreds off them.
Won't be any different than any other sponge, or million of other plastic things you use.
I stayed at a hotel that had one in the kitchenette and honestly it’s way better than a regular sponge! I haven’t had any issues with plastic residue. I was convinced it was just a gimmick until I used one
Crazy to see how successful it is now. Every single person is cleaning with this. His confidence in his products and his work ethic is amazing.
And: it’s worldwide. I have several and I’m Northern European
I don't use it
Never seen one in my life.
I've got two in my home's kitchen, they're available in stores throughout the NL! Actually quite affordable for how long they last, they're way tougher than those traditional little foamy sponges with the coarser green underside, and more effective at removing caked grime. An essential tool for me as I have a terrible habit of leaving un-rinsed dished out overnight when I get distracted by other chores, allowing sauce stains and the like to rrrrreally get in there...
I didn’t think it would be worth paying a little extra for a sponge, but it’s totally worth it.
It’s not just that the product is impressive it’s that his finances make sense. He has everything put together. He knows his margins he knows how to scale.
Also shows how short sighted some of the sharks are. They had an obvious golden goose in front of them and all backed out and one got insanely rich.
The guy who said a disaster waiting. I bet he is eating his words now. 😂😂
1:00 you can actually see dollar signs in her eyes 😂
It didn’t even take that long. It was the moment he opened his mouth.

I think he said it rhetorically to illustrate a point. He said "You can't get this out on shelves, you're an idiot." And then said "Exactly" when the guy disagreed. Kevin was saying that to point out that the guy didn't need her help to move the product, because the guy had already done such a good job of it already.

I get that Lori was probably the best shark for his product specifically, but I think that's the best deal I've ever seen Kevin give. Lori makes 20% of the company forever and Kevin would still just be getting his 10 cents on that one product
7.5 cent would still equate to about 3% of your revenues, so that's even worse than giving away equity in some regards, because in a bad year Lori is not getting anything but Kevin would still be getting a share of every sponge sold.
