I often listen to WW2 radio wondering if my dad listened to the same broadcast. He was 18 years old headed to Europe to fly for the 8th Air-force. The best generation!
So do I, especially when I'm watching old shows. I can't help but think to myself that these people, once alive are no longer with us. In a way though we're lucky that we get to record the past to share with future generations. It means something of us will go on beyond ourselves thanks to our technology. Thanks for listening!
There is something special about listening to old radio broadcasts. Even watching old radio programs. It's like taking a trip back in time. I find it fascinating.
A real Christmas! Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!!! I'll Never stop saying it, no matter how STUPID this dark world gets. Merry Christmas everyone 🌲🌹
@@BlackAtomProductions yes... I used to teach a class called "TV TIME MACHINE", where I would play a family sitcom from each of the last 5 decades of the 20th Century, and we'd do an activity like Hula Hoop or Rubik's Cube..., and talk about the changing role of families...
I wouldn't have minded living back then. The world was way less populated and developed. I think I would've enjoyed it. Though there are things about today I'd miss, like computers.
Must have been quite a technical feat in those days to synchronise all those broadcasts from different parts of the world and do all the organisation for it over the radio too.
I'm sure it was. I'm always impressed at how quickly the US was able to bounce back after Pearl Harbor and rebuild our units lost so quickly. That took some major coordination and sacrifice of resources all around by the American people to make that happen. I guess that's why they're called the greatest generation. Thanks for listening!
Thanks for listening! I listened to this on Christmas Eve just to get that feel for what it was like back then. I found it interesting. I love listening to old radio broadcasts, commercials and all.
Sorry, no. In this particular video, I was going for that warm, toasty winter's night feeling. Curled up on the couch in front of a crackling fire in 1943 with the radio playing. Thanks for listening!

Some say the greatest generation. I love listening to old radio broadcasts.
Me too.
I’ve always found it fascinating that we can listen to the voices of people who are long dead as if they were still walking the earth.

Because they are

It's Christmas eve 2023, Merry Christmas to everyone, and God bless you all
Merry Christmas, and sleep well!
WWII was the most united this country has ever been🇺🇸❤️
That's the truth. That was the last war we were all united in.
@@BlackAtomProductionsIt was actually the last “legitimate” war the US was in.
Wowwww this is a jewel! Great job, I love these old broadcastings. Greetings from Argentina!
Thank you very much!
I am 53 and i love WW2 history and anything like these broad cast from that era .

I love it when we can basically go back in time and feel/know what it was like at that time.
I know what you mean. I listened to it on Christmas Eve while falling asleep.

It's a wonderful time of year!
I live in Syracuse NY, and W-SYR is still popular, as a News and Talk station.
Oh wow. I love listening to old radio broadcasts. It's like stepping into a time machine.

I'm so glad, enjoy 😀
I sure do miss all of the people that I knew from that generation.
Time flies for sure, this was 80 years ago.
This is so beautiful! 🙏
Thank you so much! Enjoy 😀
I wish we could back to this time. Compared to today it's like another planet. The people are like aliens.

Same to you!
You are the man. So cool
Thanks!
Good one!
Thank you! Cheers!
Cool! 🎄❤
It is, I enjoyed listening to it. It was fascinating listening to a Christmas special 79 years old.
I was born in 1964. And I have always wished that I was born in the 1930s so I could have been part of the greatest generation.
I've often thought that myself, but then I'd also wonder if I would've survived as so many didn't 😥
Any chance you can upload the audio or a link to the audio without the crackling fireplace and any additions? Thanks
Thanks for listening!
Thats radio crackling
Is there are version without the fire place in the back ?

What a stupid question 😅
I love the fireplace.
FDR wasn't correct in his assessment in the trustworthiness of Staleeen
It's fun listening to the classics. Different times. Thanks for listening!
FDR was far roo intelligent to put his trust in Stalin. He negotiated with Stalin, which was necessary to help the Allied Forces win.
Thank you not being a woke and now you will not go broke. Also Happy Holidays to Everyone!
Thanks for listening!

I take comfort in this time period because the USA was fighting against fascism istead of voting it into office for 2025.
