- Amanda @AmandaZakri has taken a few flight lessons before but it was time to take her up for a refresher flight lesson in a 1967 Cessna 172. Amanda made the take off on her own and we showed here a stall.

Dakota is a wonderful calm teacher! Great job!!
Sure did an awesome job.😅😅
@@rudiekeyser2495AMAZING! absolutly AMAZING!
She knew Amanda was nervous and just kept it light and didn't scare her (too much)!
As someone working on their CFI, I found Dakota's teaching style a great lesson for myself. Positive, calm and informative without being too much at once.
Exactly 💯
Dakota. You do an outstanding job instructing. Being a pilot along with my pilot wife for the past 40 plus years we both enjoyed your teaching skills. One thing every pilot remembers forever is their first flight at the controls and their first solo. So she will always remember you and today’s flight. Great job Dakota!!
12:10 absolutely love how Dakota teaches "control the plane, don't let it control you" here.
15:50 horizon/instrument discovery. Love how she verbalizes things.
Actually love the whole thing. So relaxing and positive.
Yes, she does an great job of explaining the basics and instilling confidence… while doing everything safely ✈️
Amazing instruction! All girls were incredible! Been flying for 40 years, and never had such a chill and fun instructor!❤
calm down, bud.
Dakota is a very confident instructor. Students should absorb lots of great instruction. A+
That GoPro was hanging on for dear life! Also, what a smooth landing!
Very good job by Dakota. The calmness and communication is exceptional for an instructor. Good job
She is a good instructor.
Dakota is doing a great job with Flying Doodles.
Dakota seems like an awesome teacher!
That's what we need, Dakota! You demonstrating and leading the dialogue! Much more of this, please😁
This instructor is great.
This is a very nice refresher for me. My dad had a 172. We flew it until he decided to rebuild it. He had his A/P ticket and added STOL tips. When he passed, a fresh 180 Lycoming was in the box, ready to install. But he had a great time flying it and rebuilding it. I know he's still flying. Thanks for the ride.
Wish I had that plane right now.
I know your dad flying up there watching over you ✈️
@@flyerjack1548 Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. He loved flying and retired early from CBS to follow his passion. He also had a 150 and a Luscomb tail dragger. In addition to his A/P ticket he refurbished radios and instruments and sent them in for certification. He passed in 2000 at the age of 80. Thanks again.
@@leehoffman3604 great memories … sounds like a life well lived!
It’s amazing to see how each instructor has a different way of teaching. Some cover the little details and some assume you know the little details. Having an instructor explain how the top and bottom of the pedals work would have been good for my first lesson.
great video of both Dakoa as a great calm instructor and Amanda as the student. great personalities. Dakota is more suited for flying than sailing!
Taking lessons from Dakota has got to be a blast, yet serious at the same time. Great teacher.
Dekota this was so nice flying with you and Amanda. I don't know much about flying, but you were sweet in the way teaching Amanda. Bobby would be proud. Cheers Cape Town 💯❤🇿🇦🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Dakota, you seem like an excellent instructor. Really great demeanor.
Well done Amanda!
Well, turning left and NOT looking before turning seems a recipe for a collision. Students need to do that. The CFI must point that out.
I Haven't been Flying since the '90s. brought back a lot of fond memories. Thanks Dakota.
Dakota is awesome, calm and reassuring the whole time ! excellent!
8:42 - "And that's all I want you to be responsible for at this point". HAA!! Funny - she thinks - "Say What?" You're a great, instructor. Fun and informative! This is fun to watch.
Dakota is an excellent flight instructor and Amanda once again nailed it . This was a very good video and it was nice to see both student and instructor having fun as well as teaching.
Glad to see you back. You have the perfect personality for instructing. I look forward to more content like this...hugs...143❤
I like it when you go into teacher mode. It reminds me of going flying as a kid in a tail dragger and with my friend as he was getting his pilots license.
Dakota, you are a very good instructor. Of course I knew that before I saw you in action. Good job Amanda!
Dakota sounds a lot like my instructor (Katherine) in BG Ky. Very relaxed, smooth and informative voice. Funny too. When they started taxing and she was explaining about steering with brakes, using the top of the pedals with light pressure, she sounded exactly like my Katherine. Great video
Total respect for Dakota. Well done.
Well done ladies, great episode. We need to see more of you Dakota.
Dakota ❤ Great aviator and instructor! A person of substance. Thank you :)
Amanda really is something 🤩
Fakepilot
Awesome video and an even more awesome instructor! Great job, Dakota and Amanda!!
Wonderful to Amanda and Dakota together again great video would love to know when this video was filmed, putting the dates on videos, Sailing, Flying and Glamping would be great. Take care all 😍😍😍
I DID MY TRAINING IN A 172 IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM IN 1972. LOVE THAT AIR CRAFT!!
Excellent job.. Dakota is an excellent instructor very calm knowledgeable and has a great way of getting over her instructions
You have the patience of JOB! Great pilot Dakota.
Loved every minute of this video....great job Dakota...
Love this video. Possibly the best Flying Doodles episode yet. Great seeing the girls.togeher and Dakota killing as an instructor ❤❤
Great job, congratulations!
Excellent instruction Dakota. Makes me want to start flying again.
Stellar job Dakota! You have an excellent Pilot-side 😎 manner. This is a cool addition to the channel. Having footage of students learning to fly. If I needed a Pilots License, It would be an honor having you an an Instructor. You are an Amazing asset to The Sailing Doodles Team!
Thanks for all you do Dakota!
Exactly 💯
I am moving to this channel Dakota. You are a fantastic captain of the sky ! Amanda is a bit timid and Bobby takes the lead so she is perfect on that show. Dakota, you come alive when you're in the skies. Try to get a Piaggio P180 Avanti to fly. I'd love to see that.
Love it, go Dakota!
Very well done!
Totally Awesome!!! That calm instructor voice is great to hear.
You do a great job as an instructor. In control, calm, cool , collected, and teaching at the same time.
So calm and cool.👌🎉🎉
Just a little correction to your run up procedure. Make sure when you check carb heat, you leave it pulled out until you return to idle. To make sure it stays running at idle with cab heat on. Which is the condition you would have on final, and you have the runway made and you pull it to idle with carb heat you want to make sure the engine does not quit. Great video, Good Instructions !
I know nothing about flying, but I know a little about engines and that will help keep our Dekota on top. She is an awesome girl with a lovely ✈️ plane ✈️name. Cheers Cape Town 💯🇺🇲🇺🇲
Such a wonderful teacher.
Dakota, it was good to see you ! I hope to see you on the boat again.
Love your Foghorn Leghorn on the tail!!! - 70 yr old married gent here in Northern California wine country. Took flying lessons in my 20s on a Taylor craft tail dragger.Great to see gals flying!! Awesome stuff!!
Great video Dakota!!!
Great video Dakota!!! Very fun to see al you girl together, Ashley is a keeper!
Anyone else while watching her do the steep turns praying she hit the wake? :) Like come on...come on...hit it...doooo it!
the girls. So cool
Damn Dakota you're a great instructor
Love this, great job Dakota - Since you also have sailing experience, it would be interesting to hear you discuss how a stalled wing in the plane and angle of attack are the same thing as trimming a sail so it isn't luffing. A lot of people have an epiphany when they make the connection!
Great teacher Dakota
Three cuties! Lovely!
Great episode! Love to see Dakota taking the controls. She is so darn professional. Very impressive! Thanks!
Nice looking airplane, you can tell its been well taken care of.
Awesome job Dakota !!
Dakota you're a fabulous teacher!
Great looking 172 with a updated panel and avionics
Thank you Dakota , Awesome .
Flying is the DEFINITION OF MULTITASKING!!!!
Doodles - you are a great, relaxed teacher!
3 words... THAT WAS BRILLIANT.
Far more substance than sailing doodles! Keep them coming!
Girls gone flying.
Great video girls, Dakota what a great teacher. Cool calm and collected.. thank you for a great ride.
She is a heck of instructor!
Dakota is amazing. Amanda is great too.
I always love it when you fly as opposed to just being a passenger. Thank you
Dakota has more nerve then I would of had letting Amanda do the take off.
Awesome video. Reminds me of my flight time and the fun I had with my instructor. Thank you!
Well done Dakota.
Awesome video Dakota!!
Teacher - an interesting thing to explain to your student would be that when you say "Runway 13 left - the number 13 actually has to do precisely with a direction of the compass!! That tells you the orientation of the runway. Nobody ever seems to describe that !! Very important!! Just sayin! Just subbed!
I really enjoyed this Dakota 🙂
It's great to see you with your spirits up, Dakota.
I really liked this video. I always learn a few things about flying, but this was all about flying and not just the plane. THANKS!
You're a good instructor, and make me want to drive up to Dallas and take some lessons.
Great episode. Dakota you are amazing!
Sooo miss you on the boat with bobby .. but nice to keep up to date with you with these vidoes , hope to see you back on the boat someday maybe when you take a vacation 👍
