2nd time I watched the war arc, first thing that came to me was that it was obvious that Obito didn't want Madara back, which made me wonder about Madara's ability to plan effectively. Also I wonder why Orochimaru who spent so long searching for a viable body, just doesn't make himself into an Edo Tensei and then escape it. Seems easier than all the Sasuke stress.
My assumption is that madara scaping from edo tensiei, wasnt something anybody that knew the jutsu could do, but something he himself, by his own genius, discovered on the fly. Thus why not even tobirama tried it.

Nah weve seen what the ability to see the future gives you in the Naruto verse, fate isn't so easily manipulated. Momishiki could see into the future, he could see that Kurama can't and won't be passed on and he saw Borutos fate to lose it all. He still died and when he tought he had a way to come back and saw the future of Boruto he was certain he would come back and he was stopped and denied at every point. Boruto saw the future or what happens in chapter 77 and up but was still unable to stop it or understand. Seeing the future can be powerfull but it also limits you in other ways like Eren in AOT.
I think Madara wasn't really confident in Obito, but instead, Black Zetsu. Madara really only trusts himself (check his Sharingan and Susano). So, if he considered Black Zetsu to be an extension of himself, I'm not surprised his Uchiha arrogance prompted him to take such risks with his plan. Plus, I'm personally convinced that Black Zetsu messed with Danzo somehow (total head cannon there).
Yeah, at the end of the day there's no doubt that Black Zetsu would have found a way to revive Madara through Obito since he needed him for his Kaguya thingy, even if Kabuto never Edo'd him
I have only one theory that could explain this: the user of Rinne Tensei can specify the target's resurrection age. One could say it is a combination of resurrection and reversing time or healing. That way people who died during the attack on the Konoha came back to their bodies some time before they got killed. Villagers had no wounds as they mostly got killed instantly, but Kakashi came back weakened, so Rinne Tensei must have reversed time just enough to stabilize everybody. I'd say the more you reverse time for the target the more chakra you use and that amount goes up if there are multiple targets. Following that logic it is possible to reverse more time if there is only one target. That would explain why Madara, after seeing his young body, would assume he was brought back using Rinne Tensei. To be honest I'm more interested how Kabuto was able to bring back young Madara - this one makes the least sense as Edo Tensei is more fleshed out in the series and we know the rules surrounding it, so it seems like Kabuto was the only one to break them and only for Madara, which is funny considering he could've brought back all the Kage in their prime...
This makes the most sense to me as it would also explain being able to reverse injuries on the person who died. This still would leave open questions on why Madara didn't explain this to Obito. In full context he really puts a lot of faith on Obito and things falling perfectly into place. I think it wouldve made more sense if he groomed Nagato into fully trusting him before he died. I think Nagato, if he wanted, couldve brought Madara back in his prime and then there wouldnt be issues with edo tensei bodies and whatnot.
That still doesn't explain the edo body tho. It would've made more sense for rinne tensei to yank Madara's soul out of the edo body back to his prime corpse. The edo body might have been his new body after he reversed the edo release but even that is speculative. I guess it depends on how rinne rebirth works. Does it revive only the soul or body included. If it revives only the soul, then Madara shouldn't have Hashirama's face on his chest. If he lost his rinnegan, he should've lost this as well. If it revives the body and the soul, then refer to the first paragraph.
@@imhappy._. by reversing time as long as obito reversed enough years in his new body, he would’ve had all of that anyway. It’s most likely that he was reversed all the way to the time when tobirama just buried him, as he had no rinnegan but was in his prime which is when he died the first time.
The real question is how many bodies does Madara have left in the world now. If I remember correctly Hashirama had a final goodbye with the revived young Madara. I also think when the Sage of Six Paths came back to talk to the Hokages they were discussing reviving Madara using the legs that got cut off him. Are those legs still there as well? All of this is on top of Madara's original body. Seems like Madara now has 2 and a half bodies that need to be taken care of.
If he was stupid, I could excuse him. It's worse than that anyway, at least in my opinion. Madara was so self idolized that he didn't WANT to realize, all the variables that could derail his plan. Also, he was so arrogant that he didn't recognize his own luck and limitations. This did lead him to learn NOTHING, not to improve himself because he was full of his own ego, which ultimatelly, did lead him to his defeat. Not by stupidity but by selfishness and arrogance. One of the most overrated villains of all time, suffered one of the most humiliating defeats because, like many, he believed to be the advocate of absolute truth and to be in complete control. So no, he wasn't stupid, not in my eyes. He was selfish and arrogant. That's much worse and it's why he deserved his fate.

Its important to note that, while Madara knows what the Rinne rebirth technique does from reading about it and has the ability to preform it, he has never done it himself or had any way to find out the specifics about how it works. Its entirely possible that Madara believed the jutsu would bring him back in the prime of his life as it is one of the miracles of the Rinnegan but even Madara has admitted to being wrong about how things work in the past. Madara's entire war was based on the precept that he could only ever protect his people by forcing others to go along with his will with violence rather than working peacefully with others and we all saw how wrong that was. For a guy that claimed to only care about the well being of his family and clan Madara made it a lifelong habit of sabotaging any attempts at peace and was personally responsible for reducing the number of Uchia's in the world two.

Kabuto could have found Madara’s original body and experimented on it to restore it to its prime through medical ninjutsu and use Madara’s original body as the body used to reanimate Madara. Thus giving Madara a body in his prime and allowing the rinne rebirth to bring him back to life using the same body.
Nah, Edo Tensei explicitly requires a *living* sacrifice. Otherwise, Kabuto wouldn't have needed to use Fu as a sacrifice to bring back Torune, and Orochimaru wouldn't have had to use Kin and Zaku to bring back Hashirama and Tobirama.
While this is probably the most logical way it could have happened. Even just a month after death a dead body will start to become nothing but bones. Madara's body had been lying on that dingy cave floor for over 20 years. Assuming animals didnt eat any of him. I HIGHLY doubt that there would be any amount of his body left for Kabuto to experiment on let alone DNA for him to get. Which brings up another plot hole of how exactly Kabuto got his DNA to revive him in the first place.
That’s what I thought was the case as well. He couldn’t revive Hidan or Jiraiya since he didn’t have their bodies since you would have assumed he would have.
Something to consider is he believed zetsu to be his will incarnate. he probably felt safe leaving everything to chance because he believed that zetsu would be there to get his bidding done. He was ultimately wrong of course so that means his whole plan was flawed as you point out, but zetsu made him believe that wasn't the case.
My headcannon for his age is that becoming a ten tails jinchuuriki like he expected to would make it irrelevant (still wouldn’t account for plenty of things that could go wrong though).

Madara is the type of person that knows how to fight well and that's it. Everything else is emotion based and whatever feels good in the moment. He thinks that his plan of the Eye of the Moon was his because of Black Zetsu, because that individual knew how to lie well. He thought he had more to go on because he was like "Black Zetsu is my will, White Zetsu is my will, Obito will come down to my POV eventually, why bother?". All according to cake.

I've always assumed that the effectiveness of Rinne Rebirth was based on the number of people you attempted to use it on. More specifically, think of it like Shadow Clones, the more clones the more the chakra is divided. The same with Rinne Rebirth, if it was used solely for Madara, it would maybe create a body for him, rather than trying to pull him into an existing body. This in my head, would give a reason as to why there was a discrepancy as to who Nagato could revive, such as reviving the people of Konoha and not Jiraiya. By using all of his Chakra to revive the people of konoha to the minimum required to be alive, with their old bodies, he was unable to revive anyone else. Think of it another way. It's like how Water Jutsu is cheaper when near a body of water. If you use Rinne Rebirth on someone, and their body is relatively intact, it would be cheaper to use, as such it was possible for him to revive the people of Konoha. However, just like trying to use Water Jutsu in the desert, it becomes significantly more expensive to cast when a body no longer exists, or when you're trying to incarnate someone into their prime, like Madara wanted.
If you look at it you’ll realize that madara’s plan was actually black zetsu’s plan in trying to create a best case scenario for the resurrection of kaguya! That was the grand scheme of everything, in the end it was all kaguya’s will being carried out with madara’s plan coincidentally following the same path because kaguya needed a body who’d better be a host than a madara fused with hashirama cells making him a potential otsutsuki perfect for resurrection. That’s if you follow the karma seal regeneration but then again he didn’t have a karma mark but who am I Kishimoto is crazy 😅
I think black zetsu was a living walking karma clone . Since otsusuki are known to evolve and gain new abilities after eating chakra fruits , so what if kaguya created some new shinjutsu based upon karma but making it into a living walking clone that will find or create a suitable vessel for your revival 🤔🤔
I think why madara thought that he was brought back on his prime is that I believe rinne rebirth has two functions. The first you mentioned and another that if a person has recently died and rinne rebirth was done they would go back to their original body no prime change, but if the body had decayed and wasnt there anymore the soul will go to that body and as we know rinne rebirth heals the body so it would have rebuilt his body and maybe they had the option to bring them in their prime or old form. Same with the guy madara inhabited.

Not really, I think Sakura being her mother was intentional, the Yin seal will make her immune to blindness. But the MS definitely wont make her crazy like it did the others due to how she got it.
Not any more than the way everyone else’s MS is unique. I think it will still just fall solidly within the MS spectrum. BUT, if I’m wrong, I bet it won’t blind her to use her abilities. Some kind of symbolic nonsense about being blinded by hate so since she has the first non-hate MS, her MS abilities don’t blind her. OR, if she uses Sasuke’s eye(s) to awaken to EMS, the fact that she used EMS eye(s)to do it instead of MS eyes will give her some batshit crazy amp and that’s where her unique buff will come from.
No MS user killed someone to get it. Itachi saw Shisui die, Shisui saw his friend die, Obito saw Rin die and Sasuke was saddened after learning Itachi's truth. No canon info on Madara or Izuna and Indra was probably born with his eye since in canon the sharingan comes from him. Sarada's awakening was not new or different, it's not more special than any other awakening.
I would like to lean into believing that once Edo tensei was used on Marada with the dead corpse that his soul took over the body it was used on. Pigging back what you said, it just wiped out the original soul of that body. When itachi and the four hokage went back to the pure land we see their souls leaving the hosts corpse. Then we renni rebirth was used his soul already in the Edo tensei body it became his. Good video!

Random theory about Kabito Bringing Madara back in his prime. What if, the reason why it worked surprisingly well, was because during the time Oruchimaru was with the Akatske he was filled in with the eye of the moon plan. Oruchimaru not really caring about anything else, exept for the understanding of all jutsu, joined up for his own purposes. So he can learn all the jutsu he was interested in, and have a concrete place to hid away for awhile. Especially since he still had heat from the leaf village from a few years ago still on his trail. With his cunningness and manipulation, he got some Intel from his personal agents about a hidden area surrounded by mystery in the mist village. I'm not sure when the next part would happen, but sometime before he formed the sound village he would explore the area by himself or with Kabuto. There, they gain insite and also discover the remains of Madara. Oruchimaru, being the ever interesting jutsu Scientist, began studying it, however, to his disappointment, Madaras eyes were either completely destroyed, beond repair, or completely blind. Deeming it as a lost project/experiment, he placed it aside and focused on his more pressing and enjoyable experiments. Many years later, some time after Oruchimaru's death and after he gave the details of the akataki to Naruto, Kabito was looking around Oruchimaru's many bases for more detailed information for moving jutsu from one person to another. When in the middle of all this, he stumbled upon the Discarded study of Madara from Oruchimaru. Now I know the body would be old as heck, but Kabuto, being the medical genius he is, and also in the process of making himself a better him. ( not sure but were sticking with it ) he desided to look into the reanimation Jutsu. This is when he would study and learn the downfalls of the Jutsu, and trying what he can to improve it. After a while, and hearing the rumors about the 4th Great Ninja war, he approached Obito with not only the dead akatski, but his first and most precious prototype of his reanimation. This being Madara, but with his body reversed engineered to regain its youth and completion. It wouldn't be the only time a jutsu like this was shown in the anime, and this would both fit in with Oruchimaru's style before the atuska blade incident, along with show Kabuto's full skills, In medical jutsu, on desplay. Although, this is just me over thinking this theory, while fitting in some details I picked up both on the Anime, and in your videos too. That’s the best part! You see he planned to be brought back as an old man that way he would have a challenge when he fights the army. Plus who would he sacrifice to create a body for his Edo tensi? Obito was too young and had a bright future ahead of him. And Madara was such a soft and kind old man at that point he couldn’t do such a thing. Then you have to consider what if Nagato was just born with the Rennegan and Madara was making stuff up. You know how old people like to talk about their war atrocities.

I think the Black Zetsu recon could work to explain this: 1. Black Zetsu whispered this to Madara. 2. Black Zetsu was going to control the Rinnegan user to bring back old man Madara to be the Ten-Tail Jinchuriki to transform into Kaguya. 3. Black Zetsu adapted to Obito and gave Kabuto Madara's dead body to modify, restore and use for Edo Tensei.
Everyone forgets black zetsu pulled an Aizen and manipulated madara making him believe he was his will. Therefore madara would be confident things would play out in his favor
What if the only reason Madara was able to release himself from Edo Tensei was because his Mangekyou Sharingan let him deconstruct the jutsu and formulate a counter to it, something even Tobirama didn't know?
the difference is that madara cancelled the edo tensei after kabuto (the user) had cancelled all the edo tensei and at that moment all the edo tensei had a moment of freedom, like dan who went to see tsunade, or madara who used his technique to get out of the edo tensei before disappearing. in tobirama's case, it's not the same context: orochimaru was the user and didn't cancel the edo tensei like kabuto, so tobirama didn't try to do what madara did because he was still linked to orochimaru (this wasn't the case for all of kabuto's edo tensei after itachi forced him to cancel the edo tensei).
Madara: My plan is the best plan, if you ignore all the ways it can fail, and know that Zetsu is manipulating things to ensure the revival of some rabbit lady. On a side note could the body used in the Edo Tensai have been a clone of Madara, his real body, or a white Zetsu.

The part of the conversation at about 14 minutes about the bodies, etc. After breaking the edo tensei, perhaps it was similar to how orochimaru takes over someone's body. The body reverts to "prime condition" at least for a certain amount of time. Since all of the events involving Madara happen in a short span, we don't know how long that taken-over body would last with Madara inside it as Orochimarus bodies would rapidly decline and become unusable after a few years.

He was going to become the ten tails host. Even in his old body, from what we've seen about hosting ten tails, he's damn near immortal and basically all powerful.
My guess why Tobirama didn't release himself from Edo Tensei would be that the first time he couldn't get enough control over his body to do so and the second time around he had no need because he was already free plus he probably understood that he needed to return to the Purelands eventually and therefore he needed someone to release him from Edo Tensei since when you release yourself, you're stuck on earth in an immortal body without a way back. At least as far as I understand it.
Look, I love Madara. He is in my top 5 favorite Naruto characters, just because of his presence, his philosophy and despite how many are against him, he still climbs his way to reach his dream. Here's the thing, I feel like his plans had SO many plot holes and SO many flaws. Give Nagato a rinnegan to revive him eventually. There was no guarantee it would happen. He released himself from Kabuto's control. Okay, but how? I get it if he found out about the secrets of the jutsu Tobirama created, but it is still so far fetched that Madara could just do that, without any explanation on how he found out how to... And the amount of times Madara is supposed to die. When he gets fully revived, Sasuke used Amaterasu. And I'm sorry but Amaterasu is supposed to burn as hot as the sun itself. Even if Madara took his armor off, I feel like it would still have some form of effect. Some burnt skin or anything of the sort. Being impaled by so many sand bullets and then sealed away. But no, give him a Susanoo without his eyes! Then he had his body destroyed. TWICE! Once by Might Guy and then by Sasuke slicing him in half. He is an amazing character, but even the most hardcore Madara fans might agree with me when I say that he is just covered in Plot Armor even more than Naruto is!
1. You can't assume that just because he knows how to cancel the jutsu's control he would know how to use it. 2. The plan is a longshot because it's a longshot. Madara didn't exactly have better options available. He threw a hailmary and was surprised when it worked out.

Going even further Tobirama may have spread how to cancel the jutsu among the Senju elite in case it got used on them and Madara interrogated them. The idea that knowing how to break the jutsu means you know how to cast it is nonsense.

From what I remember Hashirama and Tobirama almost immediately broke out of the Edo Tensei's control when they were summoned at near their full strength. Orochimaru only managed to keep hold of Tobiramam because Hashirama's cells boosted the strength of the jutsu's control. You prove that it works by it working after you try. You don't need to extensively practice something if you easily get it right the first time. It's like a guy who's been a pro chef for decades and knowing all the science of cooking being given a new ingredient. He doesn't necessarily need to know the ins and outs of the ingredient to make a good dish with it. What part of Madara not planning to be revived with Edo Tensei are you not understanding? It wasn't part of the plan so how was he hinging the plan on it?
That Madara gave away one of the most important Keys to his plan Rinnegan to a Nagato could have been quite costly. Considering that on two occasions Nagato could have lost his Rinnegan or at least see them destroyed if things had happened differently. 1 when Nagato meet Orchimaro as a child. 2.When Naruto was on his way to Nagato.. Aka Naruto could have gone rage mode and just destroyed Nagato.

Pre orochi edo brings out a very weak version of yourself and in that state he would just be a target and a weakness (something like a boruto villain) so he wanted to be brought back in full power hence his dismay when finding that he was not brought back in full power in the war but he tests the body and finds it great. Orochimaru specifically used seals to suppress the personalities of Hashirama and Tobirama. All obito has to do is do the jutsu in the exact way Oro did, but NOT create those seals. Why is this so HARD for narutards to understand This fanbase is so low IQ i feel like you contaminate it

The reason Madara didn't want to be an Edo Tensei is because it's stated in the story that an Edo Tensei cannot become a jinchuriki to the Ten Tails, which was his entire goal. He didn't stick around as a masterless zombie advisor because of Obito's Kamui. Madara has absolutely no way to counter or circumvent Kamui, meaning if Obito strands him in his pocket dimension he's there forever. Whether he trusted Obito to be a good little stooge or not, that is Not a degree of power he would ever allow anyone to have over him. If he was going to come back it would have to be For Real when he's at full power and has the Ten Tails inside of him, therefore giving him more than enough hax to counter Obito, Kamui or not.
You know, i already knew there were plot holes with the war arc and madara in general, but holy crap, around 13:00 this goes from there being cracks to the whole arc now just falling apart. And also, i thought Rinne rebirth worked like, you're trading spots, your soul for whoever you're reviving, something like that, like you're reaching into whatever realm it was that your soul goes to if not the pure lands, and the rest are traded, but either way... This arc and madara's plan in particular is just one big mess man.
We could assume a few things, but that's up to people whether the head Canon holds up. There are many factors that may play into things. Renni Rebirth may well just throw your soul back into the LAST body it inhabited, unless it is too damaged. So when madara was already occupying that Edo body, he would simply take that vessel. Also it's not certain whether madara had already considered this option back when he died and simply had made another body or had a zetsu body set aside that would have allowed him to be transferreded there, due to his body not being capable of sustaining life. He died from age, so his body would count as an unusable vessel. He'd just die again. He obviously had time to study and learn the rinnegan abilities... He would know he'd need another body. Maybe he made another body to essentially trick the Rinne Rebirth. But his plan went sideways when he was edo Tensei'd. So the Rinne Rebirth didnt have to wonder about the body it needed. It chose to stick with the clearly OP body already occupied, or manipulated by madara's soul.
Well i never liked Madara that Much anyway, he is just a charismatic classic super villain, Unlike Obito who had to put in the work on his own, betray his comrades and go around to make it happen, basically went through a true darkness.
Madara did not break free from the edo tensei. He was never being controlled by kabuto. And knowing the jutsu does not mean you can break free. Itachi ended the edo tensei that kabuto used and Madara began disappearing. Madara kept himself alive by casting the jutsu on himself because he knew it. Hashirama was stated to be able to physically break free of the edo tensei orochimaru couldn’t control him. Tobirama was restrained by orochimaru when he tried to break free because orochimaru had hashirama cells.
About prime body: Maybe by using the controll tags. Orochimaru planted controll seals inside the Hokage, when he summoned them the first time. And the effect was, that they lost there personality. But, there body recovered to a certain and looked more vitality. It could be possible, that the seals for Edo Tensei can the body force, to go into a certain stage.
I think it's best to say, that Kisimoto knew what he was doing. Story wise, would it actually be Entertaining to bring back Madara as a senior/back at his prime?

I have a lot of thoughts as to how the aspects of this relates to my own Naruto Headcanons, but as for if Madara's plan was stupid? ...Yeah, absolutely. The most basic bad writing test is "does the explanation of it include the word 'somehow'?" If you plot out Madara's plan on a corkboard, you find that the string linking those points is MADE of "somehows". NONE of it makes sense.

2nd time I watched the war arc, first thing that came to me was that it was obvious that Obito didn't want Madara back, which made me wonder about Madara's ability to plan effectively. I think Madara wasn't really confident in Obito, but instead, Black Zetsu. Madara really only trusts himself (check his Sharingan and Susano). So, if he considered Black Zetsu to be an extension of himself, I'm not surprised his Uchiha arrogance prompted him to take such risks with his plan. Plus, I'm personally convinced that Black Zetsu messed with Danzo somehow (total head cannon there).

I have only one theory that could explain this: the user of Rinne Tensei can specify the target's resurrection age. One could say it is a combination of resurrection and reversing time or healing. That way people who died during the attack on the Konoha came back to their bodies some time before they got killed. Villagers had no wounds as they mostly got killed instantly, but Kakashi came back weakened, so Rinne Tensei must have reversed time just enough to stabilize everybody. I'd say the more you reverse time for the target the more chakra you use and that amount goes up if there are multiple targets. Following that logic it is possible to reverse more time if there is only one target. That would explain why Madara, after seeing his young body, would assume he was brought back using Rinne Tensei.
To be honest I'm more interested how Kabuto was able to bring back young Madara - this one makes the least sense as Edo Tensei is more fleshed out in the series and we know the rules surrounding it, so it seems like Kabuto was the only one to break them and only for Madara, which is funny considering he could've brought back all the Kage in their prime...
This makes the most sense to me as it would also explain being able to reverse injuries on the person who died. This still would leave open questions on why Madara didn't explain this to Obito. In full context he really puts a lot of faith on Obito and things falling perfectly into place. I think it wouldve made more sense if he groomed Nagato into fully trusting him before he died. I think Nagato, if he wanted, couldve brought Madara back in his prime and then there wouldnt be issues with edo tensei bodies and whatnot.

That still doesn't explain the edo body tho. It would've made more sense for rinne tensei to yank Madara's soul out of the edo body back to his prime corpse. The edo body might have been his new body after he reversed the edo release but even that is speculative.

If it revives only the soul, then Madara shouldn't have Hashirama's face on his chest. If he lost his rinnegan, he should've lost this as well. If it revives the body and the soul, then refer to the first paragraph.

The real question is how many bodies does Madara have left in the world now. If I remember correctly Hashirama had a final goodbye with the revived young Madara. I also think when the Sage of Six Paths came back to talk to the Hokages they were discussing reviving Madara using the legs that got cut off him. Are those legs still there as well? All of this is on top of Madara's original body. Seems like Madara now has 2 and a half bodies that need to be taken care of.

If he was stupid, I could excuse him. It's worse than that anyway, at least in my opinion. Madara was so self idolized that he didn't WANT to realize, all the variables that could derail his plan. Also, he was so arrogant that he didn't recognize his own luck and limitations. This did lead him to learn NOTHING, not to improve himself because he was full of his own ego, which ultimatelly, did lead him to his defeat. Not by stupidity but by selfishness and arrogance. One of the most overrated villains of all time, suffered one of the most humiliating defeats because, like many, he believed to be the advocate of absolute truth and to be in complete control. So no, he wasn't stupid, not in my eyes. He was selfish and arrogant. That's much worse and it's why he deserved his fate.

Its important to note that, while Madara knows what the Rinne rebirth technique does from reading about it and has the ability to preform it, he has never done it himself or had any way to find out the specifics about how it works. Its entirely possible that Madara believed the jutsu would bring him back in the prime of his life as it is one of the miracles of the Rinnegan but even Madara has admitted to being wrong about how things work in the past. Madara's entire war was based on the precept that he could only ever protect his people by forcing others to go along with his will with violence rather than working peacefully with others and we all saw how wrong that was. For a guy that claimed to only care about the well being of his family and clan Madara made it a lifelong habit of sabotaging any attempts at peace and was personally responsible for reducing the number of Uchia's in the world two.

Kabuto could have found Madara’s original body and experimented on it to restore it to its prime through medical ninjutsu and use Madara’s original body as the body used to reanimate Madara. Thus giving Madara a body in his prime and allowing the rinne rebirth to bring him back to life using the same body.
Nah, Edo Tensei explicitly requires a *living* sacrifice. Otherwise, Kabuto wouldn't have needed to use Fu as a sacrifice to bring back Torune, and Orochimaru wouldn't have had to use Kin and Zaku to bring back Hashirama and Tobirama.
While this is probably the most logical way it could have happened. Even just a month after death a dead body will start to become nothing but bones. Madara's body had been lying on that dingy cave floor for over 20 years. Assuming animals didnt eat any of him. I HIGHLY doubt that there would be any amount of his body left for Kabuto to experiment on let alone DNA for him to get. Which brings up another plot hole of how exactly Kabuto got his DNA to revive him in the first place.

Something to consider is he believed zetsu to be his will incarnate. he probably felt safe leaving everything to chance because he believed that zetsu would be there to get his bidding done. He was ultimately wrong of course so that means his whole plan was flawed as you point out, but zetsu made him believe that wasn't the case.
My headcannon for his age is that becoming a ten tails jinchuuriki like he expected to would make it irrelevant (still wouldn’t account for plenty of things that could go wrong though).

I've always assumed that the effectiveness of Rinne Rebirth was based on the number of people you attempted to use it on. More specifically, think of it like Shadow Clones, the more clones the more the chakra is divided. The same with Rinne Rebirth, if it was used solely for Madara, it would maybe create a body for him, rather than trying to pull him into an existing body.
This in my head, would give a reason as to why there was a discrepancy as to who Nagato could revive, such as reviving the people of Konoha and not Jiraiya. By using all of his Chakra to revive the people of konoha to the minimum required to be alive, with their old bodies, he was unable to revive anyone else.
Think of it another way. It's like how Water Jutsu is cheaper when near a body of water. If you use Rinne Rebirth on someone, and their body is relatively intact, it would be cheaper to use, as such it was possible for him to revive the people of Konoha. However, just like trying to use Water Jutsu in the desert, it becomes significantly more expensive to cast when a body no longer exists, or when you're trying to incarnate someone into their prime, like Madara wanted.
If you look at it you’ll realize that madara’s plan was actually black zetsu’s plan in trying to create a best case scenario for the resurrection of kaguya! That was the grand scheme of everything, in the end it was all kaguya’s will being carried out with madara’s plan coincidentally following the same path because kaguya needed a body who’d better be a host than a madara fused with hashirama cells making him a potential otsutsuki perfect for resurrection. That’s if you follow the karma seal regeneration but then again he didn’t have a karma mark but who am I Kishimoto is crazy 😅

Since otsusuki are known to evolve and gain new abilities after eating chakra fruits , so what if kaguya created some new shinjutsu based upon karma but making it into a living walking clone that will find or create a suitable vessel for your revival 🤔🤔

I think why madara thought that he was brought back on his prime is that I believe rinne rebirth has two functions. The first you mentioned and another that if a person has recently died and rinne rebirth was done they would go back to their original body no prime change, but if the body had decayed and wasnt there anymore the soul will go to that body and as we know rinne rebirth heals the body so it would have rebuilt his body and maybe they had the option to bring them in their prime or old form. No MS user killed someone to get it. Itachi saw Shisui die, Shisui saw his friend die, Obito saw Rin die and Sasuke was saddened after learning Itachi's truth. No canon info on Madara or Izuna and Indra was probably born with his eye since in canon the sharingan comes from him. Sarada's awakening was not new or different, it's not more special than any other awakening.

I would like to lean into believing that once Edo tensei was used on Marada with the dead corpse that his soul took over the body it was used on. Pigging back what you said, it just wiped out the original soul of that body. When itachi and the four hokage went back to the pure land we see their souls leaving the hosts corpse. Then we renni rebirth was used his soul already in the Edo tensei body it became his. Good video!

Random theory about Kabito Bringing Madara back in his prime.
What if, the reason why it worked surprisingly well, was because during the time Oruchimaru was with the Akatske he was filled in with the eye of the moon plan.
Oruchimaru not really caring about anything else, exept for the understanding of all jutsu, joined up for his own purposes.
So he can learn all the jutsu he was interested in, and have a concrete place to hid away for awhile. Especially since he still had heat from the leaf village from a few years ago still on his trail.
With his cunningness and manipulation, he got some Intel from his personal agents about a hidden area surrounded by mystery in the mist village.
I'm not sure when the next part would happen, but sometime before he formed the sound village he would explore the area by himself or with Kabuto.
There, they gain insite and also discover the remains of Madara. Oruchimaru, being the ever interesting jutsu Scientist, began studying it, however, to his disappointment, Madaras eyes were either completely destroyed, beond repair, or completely blind.
Deeming it as a lost project/experiment, he placed it aside and focused on his more pressing and enjoyable experiments.
Many years later, some time after Oruchimaru's death and after he gave the details of the akataki to Naruto, Kabito was looking around Oruchimaru's many bases for more detailed information for moving jutsu from one person to another.
When in the middle of all this, he stumbled upon the Discarded study of Madara from Oruchimaru.
Now I know the body would be old as heck, but Kabuto, being the medical genius he is, and also in the process of making himself a better him. ( not sure but were sticking with it ) he desided to look into the reanimation Jutsu.
This is when he would study and learn the downfalls of the Jutsu, and trying what he can to improve it.
After a while, and hearing the rumors about the 4th Great Ninja war, he approached Obito with not only the dead akatski, but his first and most precious prototype of his reanimation.
This being Madara, but with his body reversed engineered to regain its youth and completion.
It wouldn't be the only time a jutsu like this was shown in the anime, and this would both fit in with Oruchimaru's style before the atuska blade incident, along with show Kabuto's full skills, In medical jutsu, on desplay.
Although, this is just me over thinking this theory, while fitting in some details I picked up both on the Anime, and in your videos too.

That’s the best part! You see he planned to be brought back as an old man that way he would have a challenge when he fights the army. Plus who would he sacrifice to create a body for his Edo tensi? Obito was too young and had a bright future ahead of him. And Madara was such a soft and kind old man at that point he couldn’t do such a thing. Then you have to consider what if Nagato was just born with the Rennegan and Madara was making stuff up. You know how old people like to talk about their war atrocities.

I think the Black Zetsu recon could work to explain this:
1. Black Zetsu whispered this to Madara.
2. Black Zetsu was going to control the Rinnegan user to bring back old man Madara to be the Ten-Tail Jinchuriki to transform into Kaguya.
3. Black Zetsu adapted to Obito and gave Kabuto Madara's dead body to modify, restore and use for Edo Tensei.
Madara was actually part of a D&D group. They always stumble into the best situations with stupid plans.
I think that if Madara gave Obito a jutsu that resurrects the dead ... Obito would have resurrected Rin and then stopped his part in the plan.

What if the only reason Madara was able to release himself from Edo Tensei was because his Mangekyou Sharingan let him deconstruct the jutsu and formulate a counter to it, something even Tobirama didn't know?
the difference is that madara cancelled the edo tensei after kabuto (the user) had cancelled all the edo tensei and at that moment all the edo tensei had a moment of freedom, like dan who went to see tsunade, or madara who used his technique to get out of the edo tensei before disappearing.
in tobirama's case, it's not the same context: orochimaru was the user and didn't cancel the edo tensei like kabuto, so tobirama didn't try to do what madara did because he was still linked to orochimaru (this wasn't the case for all of kabuto's edo tensei after itachi forced him to cancel the edo tensei).

The part of the conversation at about 14 minutes about the bodies, etc. After breaking the edo tensei, perhaps it was similar to how orochimaru takes over someone's body. The body reverts to "prime condition" at least for a certain amount of time. Since all of the events involving Madara happen in a short span, we don't know how long that taken-over body would last with Madara inside it as Orochimarus bodies would rapidly decline and become unusable after a few years.

He was going to become the ten tails host. Even in his old body, from what we've seen about hosting ten tails, he's damn near immortal and basically all powerful.
My guess why Tobirama didn't release himself from Edo Tensei would be that the first time he couldn't get enough control over his body to do so and the second time around he had no need because he was already free plus he probably understood that he needed to return to the Purelands eventually and therefore he needed someone to release him from Edo Tensei since when you release yourself, you're stuck on earth in an immortal body without a way back. At least as far as I understand it.
Look, I love Madara. He is in my top 5 favorite Naruto characters, just because of his presence, his philosophy and despite how many are against him, he still climbs his way to reach his dream.
Here's the thing, I feel like his plans had SO many plot holes and SO many flaws. Give Nagato a rinnegan to revive him eventually. There was no guarantee it would happen.
He released himself from Kabuto's control. Okay, but how? I get it if he found out about the secrets of the jutsu Tobirama created, but it is still so far fetched that Madara could just do that, without any explanation on how he found out how to...
And the amount of times Madara is supposed to die. When he gets fully revived, Sasuke used Amaterasu. And I'm sorry but Amaterasu is supposed to burn as hot as the sun itself. Even if Madara took his armor off, I feel like it would still have some form of effect. Some burnt skin or anything of the sort.

1. You can't assume that just because he knows how to cancel the jutsu's control he would know how to use it.
2. The plan is a longshot because it's a longshot. Madara didn't exactly have better options available. He threw a hailmary and was surprised when it worked out.
To your first point I say that’s a really stupid and illogical argument, because how would you know the weakness with no way to test it? And don’t say Madara didn’t know because this was apart of his plan, he requires someway to test this theory.

Going even further Tobirama may have spread how to cancel the jutsu among the Senju elite in case it got used on them and Madara interrogated them. The idea that knowing how to break the jutsu means you know how to cast it is nonsense.

From what I remember Hashirama and Tobirama almost immediately broke out of the Edo Tensei's control when they were summoned at near their full strength. Orochimaru only managed to keep hold of Tobiramam because Hashirama's cells boosted the strength of the jutsu's control.
You prove that it works by it working after you try. You don't need to extensively practice something if you easily get it right the first time. It's like a guy who's been a pro chef for decades and knowing all the science of cooking being given a new ingredient. He doesn't necessarily need to know the ins and outs of the ingredient to make a good dish with it.

That Madara gave away one of the most important Keys to his plan Rinnegan to a Nagato could have been quite costly.
Considering that on two occasions Nagato could have lost his Rinnegan or at least see them destroyed if things had happened differently.

Orochimaru specifically used seals to suppress the personalities of Hashirama and Tobirama.

Not much of a plot hole imo. The reason Madara didn't want to be an Edo Tensei is because it's stated in the story that an Edo Tensei cannot become a jinchuriki to the Ten Tails, which was his entire goal. He didn't stick around as a masterless zombie advisor because of Obito's Kamui. Madara has absolutely no way to counter or circumvent Kamui, meaning if Obito strands him in his pocket dimension he's there forever. Whether he trusted Obito to be a good little stooge or not, that is Not a degree of power he would ever allow anyone to have over him. If he was going to come back it would have to be For Real when he's at full power and has the Ten Tails inside of him, therefore giving him more than enough hax to counter Obito, Kamui or not.
You know, i already knew there were plot holes with the war arc and madara in general, but holy crap, around 13:00 this goes from there being cracks to the whole arc now just falling apart. And also, i thought Rinne rebirth worked like, you're trading spots, your soul for whoever you're reviving, something like that, like you're reaching into whatever realm it was that your soul goes to if not the pure lands, and the rest are traded, but either way...
This arc and madara's plan in particular is just one big mess man.

We could assume a few things, but that's up to people whether the head Canon holds up. There are many factors that may play into things. Renni Rebirth may well just throw your soul back into the LAST body it inhabited, unless it is too damaged. So when madara was already occupying that Edo body, he would simply take that vessel.
Also it's not certain whether madara had already considered this option back when he died and simply had made another body or had a zetsu body set aside that would have allowed him to be transferreded there, due to his body not being capable of sustaining life. He died from age, so his body would count as an unusable vessel. He'd just die again. He obviously had time to study and learn the rinnegan abilities... He would know he'd need another body. Maybe he made another body to essentially trick the Rinne Rebirth. But his plan went sideways when he was edo Tensei'd. So the Rinne Rebirth didnt have to wonder about the body it needed. It chose to stick with the clearly OP body already occupied, or manipulated by madara's soul.

Madara did not break free from the edo tensei. He was never being controlled by kabuto. And knowing the jutsu does not mean you can break free. Itachi ended the edo tensei that kabuto used and Madara began disappearing. Madara kept himself alive by casting the jutsu on himself because he knew it. Hashirama was stated to be able to physically break free of the edo tensei orochimaru couldn’t control him. Tobirama was restrained by orochimaru when he tried to break free because orochimaru had hashirama cells.
About prime body:
Maybe by using the controll tags.
Orochimaru planted controll seals inside the Hokage, when he summoned them the first time.
And the effect was, that they lost there personality. But, there body recovered to a certain and looked more vitality.
It could be possible, that the seals for Edo Tensei can the body force, to go into a certain stage.
Ten Tail’s Jinchuuriki must be a living vessel not a reanimation. Edo Tensei added an extra step.

It may be that Madara's plan was made by a very old man trapped in a cave, strapped to a life support system, with Alzheimer's, and not in the best of his mental capacity, and grew up in a messed up world. That's why it makes no sense :)
I have the answer. Hashi Rama sales. Hashi Rama sales strengthened a dead body as they never die. Therefore, if Mira took the gamble that Hashi Rama sales which strengthen his body overtime and that would be the explanation.

I also had the thought that maybe he didn't absolutely need to come back, perhaps he was satisfied setting it in motion, knowing that he'd shown obito that life is pain and that obito would revive him or get it done. obito and nagato are pretty strong after all

we don't know how Edo tensei works, Hashirama came back looking young, but who could have killed him. So Edo tensei just automatically puts the persons body in their prime, strength wise. And hiruzen may be the strongest when he was 70. And the tweaks that Kabuto did could have been just the Rinnegan and Hashirama cells
If Madara were smart he'd have joined Hashirama in the Village they dreamed of as kids, and not spent his life sabotaging the "peace" he claimed to want.
Only 3 minutes in but I was always under the impression that Madara's plan was to have Obito make Nagato use Rinne Rebirth to bring Madara back as a whole person & not an edo body once the tailed beasts were all captured

This was Zetsus plan from the beginning way before Madara, he just went along with the idea that he was convinced was his own will incarnate and doesn't doubt him at all until he's betrayed and reverted to Kaguya
I have a lot of thoughts as to how the aspects of this relates to my own Naruto Headcanons, but as for if Madara's plan was stupid?
...Yeah, absolutely. The most basic bad writing test is "does the explanation of it include the word 'somehow'?" If you plot out Madara's plan on a corkboard, you find that the string linking those points is MADE of "somehows". NONE of it makes sense.
