PECKING ORDER - words and music by Ted Kirkpatrick
Sleight of hand, slight of mind
Slam the door, leave the key inside
With a quick and knowing stare
Like a contest at the fair
You're the winner, you're the loser
You're the chosen, I'm the chooser
Too fat, too poor, too black, too pure
Too white, too foreign, too smart, too boring
Hen-pecked hypocrite, myself included
Fails to see, my thoughts diluted
With our judgement, and mind polluted
Comes prevention, from seeing who God created
Politics of the mind, feeds the ego of the blind
Who made you the judge of me
Turn away, just let me be
The notion that we're better than them
The ultimate delusional gem
The notion that we're better than them
The ultimate delusional gem
Too fat, too poor, too black, too pure
Too white, too foreign, too smart, too boring
Ninety-three million miles
From the earth, the granite boils
Half the heat, half the burn
Scorches those who never learn
Look to Him and you will see
The only judge for you and me
Grace and mercy from His throne
Imparts to those He calls His own
Grace and mercy from His throne
Imparts to those He calls His own
Philippians 2:3

Just have to say. I love this band. Enough said. I was there in 2002 but missed this show.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR MUSIC TED! YOU'RE IN GOD'S HAND'S AND YOU'LL BE MISSED! SEE YOU SOON! GOD'S STILL GOOD! R.I.P

Que legal!! Pena que não pude ir! Ouço esta banda desde adolescência
Temon!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
man my ears ring 2 days from that concert , but enjoy it it was first christian hard rock band I seen in concert
The sound quality is great! I definately wish I was there!
they were also a really great live-band. Thats not easy for the music is so complex. As Ted used to say: Our Music is Beethoven meats Frankenstein.
This track takes cues from Corrosion of Conformity's Deliverance. The track that calls to mind is Albatross -- as this track is one of the most thrashiest from Vanishing Lessions as the delivery is akin to what you hear in Southern Metal (Black Label Society.) Luke's vocals lend from the spirit filled hardcore movement as there is a little bluesy rasp thrown in there as the newer tracks will be a challenge of who'd fill Luke's shoes. Tarja from Nightwish fame would be a good fit as she can hit higher notes than Guy (she pioneered the Opera Metal movement as Believer showed early examples of the style in Dimensions as well as Celtic Frost in the 1980s. She lives in Spain now, and I had sent her links to a few tracks on the recent Tourniquet outings as well as the voiceless versions. Her vocals on Tourniquet would give the sound a new dimension as you're both rooted in classical.) Her choices for covers are a bit funny as her vocals don't fit the track (Still of the Night was bluesy as Smells Like Teen Spirit was akward with her classically trained vocals. She does a killer rendition of Linkin Park's Numb and Nothing Else Matters.)
This song rocks -- this is very powerful. I wish they pulled this one out when they played in Elgin. Ted if you play in Chicago -- pull this track right out of box. This song speaks volumes of the judgmental types out there.
@BOUKEBANDSTRA
Totally agree.
@BOUKEBANDSTRA
haha i didn't even realize it
CRISTO VIVE !!!
Sommm
what kind of guitar is that? the one that Aaron Guerra always uses. anyone know?
+Jeremy D Fernandes Vertigo
+Daniel Hughes thanks a bunch man, I've tried for so long to figure out what it was!
Brazil flag on his guitar
a melhor formação da banda Tourniquet foi do ano 94, esse baixista é horrível, e o Aaron Guerra também deixa a desejar.
-----
the best lineup of the band Tourniquet's been 94 years, this bass man is horrible, and Aaron Guerra also lacking.
Mas esse vocal é muito bom!!
