At first i thought that was going to look terrible (because of the trem). That VegaTrem bridge is actually classy and the only time a tele looked better with the trem. I thought it was gonna ruin a nice spec list with Lollar's and Hipshot's (basically a splurge build). Looks nice and that innovation blew my mind (no heavy altering your tele). You just run springs through the string ferule holes? The simple genius thing is right there in front of the eyes. I assume you can deck it if you tighten them enough, and the string are somehow loaded either through those springs or the the actual bridge somehow. Looks classic tele enough to rip "tulsa time" for sure.
Tulsa Time, love it! Had to rewind to see that dive bomb, haha. Bohlinger is always so cool to watch. Cross my fingers 🤞🏻, hope I win it since I’m in the market for twangy T-style!

My question is….why are the body and neck from a Mexican Fender tele and not the Stew Mac kit they say it is and advertise? I followed the link and you can’t buy a fender branded kit.
@@premierguitar Ah. But those aren’t the links you shared in the video. Made it seem like you used a stew Mac kit when you didn’t. In fact, in the video you say nothing about buying Fender parts from Stew Mac, but reference their kit.
Well actually I had a bigger thought. When you assign the words master builder or luthier to a fender to me its comical. Now if somebody cut down a tree and built a Fender style guitar that would be different. But all their bodies and necks are CNC.
@@elambassist it's true what you say "as it was designed". In the beginning the people working at Gibson were guitar makers. The people working at fender barely knew what a guitar was. That's not to knock anything all I play is fenders. To reset a neck on a Gibson or fix a headstock break a luthier is required. But anybody can screw a fender together
I built my own tele partscaster. Super light swamp ash, installed the frets and painted it myself. Everything came together just right and it's an amazing guitar. If I bought it from the fender custom It would probably cost me $3K or more. Fender is crazy. I couldn't build a Les Paul though.
Bridge/trem was designed for (non-invasive - uses existing holes) on Telecasters & it's all about having fun! John has used it several times and hasnt' been run outta town yet! Here's the product: vegatrem.com/vt2-teletrem-telecaster-tremolo/
Not wrong, but not for the reason you think. You and I would pay nearly 300 for just the Lollar pickups and close to that or more for a real Fender replacement neck. Now John being who he is which is a kick ass player, RUclips king and good human likely has little to nothing in all of it hence the give away.

I just installed a VegaTrem VT2nd and HipShot open gear locking tuners with butterbean knobs! Great additions to a Tele! Nice job with that one!
Duuuval native who’s been to Nashville for 18 hours once. This is a cool video.
My first DIY guitar was a stewmac parts tele. Love that thing. It is the perfect platform for a frankintele.
That tremolo is so friggin clever. WOW!

The string load from the top and yes, you can tighten the screws to deck it or loosen them to bend a half step up. Very clever design :)
Great video John!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Setup took more time than assembly. I think attention to detail is the secret ingredient. The performance with the band is great!
Wow awesome Johnny
Please tell me PG is doing a rig rundown of Chris Buck in Nashville on July 15 at basement east!

How are you using that Battalion bass preamp with your rig??
Very nice, John!

Was John’s mic even on? 😮
Oh hell yeah!
tele with a trem. be still my beating heart.
Nashville tele with no middle pickup?
Great video! All PG youtubers would do well with the occasional live performance. (:
So true!
What model was the valvetrain amp? Sounded great!!
It’s a little 10 W with a 10 inch speaker. I love that thing. I have three Valve Train Amps and they’re all great.
I’ll definitely have to check one out. Thanks!

Dang I thought you were going to build it. I don’t want it I’m left-handed
I wouldn't be caught dead playing a so-called "Telecaster" with Strat saddles on the bridge in NASHVILLE of all places..!!
